Remodeling Pros-Room Additions Only

After receiving two estimates from companies that did not seem overly excited to work our project, I joined Angie's list and immediately contacted Keith at Remodeling Pros for an estimate. Keith showed up on time, took measurements and seemed genuinely eager to take on our project. Keith took the time to explain to us several room addition options that would enhance the curb appeal of our home. He provided drawings of several different roof designs for our room addition. We then met and decided to go forward with the room addition. After reviewing the contract, we had several add ons and Keith had no problem with the additional changes. Keith Sheets (the owner) was very good to work with throughout the process. He returned our calls in a timely manner. He would often stop by to check on progress and would often have one of his team members on site when there was work being performed by a subcontractor or when an inspection was scheduled. Keith's team of professionals did much of the work and they were all great to work with and took the time to answer any and all of my questions. The subcontractors that Keith used did excellent work. When there were a couple of additional items that came up, Keith responded positively, often at no additional charge for labor or materials. A couple of areas that could have gone smoother. While we had a general idea of the construction plan for our addition and that per contract, it would be complete in 90 days, we never received a written schedule of work. While Keith was good about returning our calls and telling us what would happen next and approximately when, for us, having a written schedule of what should happen and when, would have been a big help. There were a couple of other issues where we were a bit disappointed in the response by Keith, but they were relatively minor issues and did not detract from the overall great quality of the job. An area that was partially out of Keith's control were the city inspections. I was surprised when several of the inspections were failed because of minor issues or inspector recommendations that did not appear to be required by the plan or code. However, Keith and his folks responded appropriately and subsequently passed the reinspection and were able to keep within the completion schedule. The bottom line for us is that we are very pleased with everything that was done. We've had compliments from neighbors/friends on the look of the addition and have passed along Keith's contact information. We would welcome the opportunity to have him work on our house in the future and strongly recommend Remodeling Pros. We have had several bad experiences in the past with contractors (not on Angie's list). No question about it...we will check Angie's List to get reviews of companies before hiring anyone. We found Remodeling Pros on Angie's List and are very happy overall with the experience and especially the finished product.

Keith and his crew at Remodeling Pros did a fantastic job on our recent home renovation. As a business owner myself, the biggest mistake I see from other companies is the lack of proper communication. It is crazy at how bad the average small business is with communication! Keith, however, was in constant contact with us during the project keeping us well in the loop. The timeline was held and I thought his pricing was VERY reasonable in comparison to other quotes I had received for the same work. We are very happy with the new changes to the home and would recommend REMODELING PROS to anyone looking for a home renovation.

Keith Sheets is the owner and was great to work with throughout the process. He was always prompt in returning our calls and routinely stopped by to check on progress and oversee his workers. He has his own team to do much of the work and they were all great to work with. If I thought anything needed attention, I pointed it out to them and they took care of it promptly. For the work that was subcontracted, Keith uses reputable companies that he regularly works with and knows that they do excellent work. We were very pleased with everything that was done and have received many compliments from neighbors on the look of the house and have passed along Keith's contact information. We would not hesitate to have him work on our house in the future and highly recommend Remodeling Pros. We have heard many horror stories from friends that have had bad remodeling experiences, and we always check Angie's List to get reliable reviews of companies before hiring anyone. Keith showed up on time to all appointments. The cost was very reasonable, he was involved in the process from start to finish and worked with us along the way. He met every milestone and was very informative as we took each step. His sub-contractors were all very professional, showed up on time, and did fantastic jobs. We are very happy with our end result and will use Keith in the future for another project we are already planning.

The experience was excellent. My neighbor had used them and liked them so I used them. I had a landscape architect do the drawings and we changed them as we went and modified it.

Every aspect went just as promised and ahead of schedule. To build the addition, we first had to remove a large live oak tree and it's roots that grew where the new footings were to be. Remodeling Pros shared in this expense and recommended Chapman Family Tree Service for the work. That recommendation was a great one and got the project off to a good start. Chapman proved to be a great choice removing the tree, root, and all cuttings in less than a day. They even pruned some of our other trees at no additional cost. Remodeling Pros then removed an existing 200 Sq Ft wooden deck and porch with an 8 ft wide roof. Next, the slab and footings were dug and poured and I noted that the thickness and the hardness of the concrete exceeded the standard set in the contract and by the building code. The framing was made with 2 x 6's rather than 2 x 4's and the roof a truss system, both of which provided room for additional insulation. No short cuts were taken. Extra wide headers were provided for the windows. The windows and doors were of high quality. The electrician provided at least 4 outlets above the code requirement and an additional light fixture box at no additional cost to me, the owner. Keith negotiated with the Air Conditioner subcontractor a higher-rated unit than called for in our contract as the specified unit was not immediately available. Again, at no additional cost to me. The roof and siding portion went smoothly as did the drywall and painting. We slightly exceeded our floor covering allowance with the engineered wood we selected so Remodeling Pros negotiated a very satisfactory adjustment to our contract considering a few additions and a few deletions to the original work. Without exception, all of the crews were professional and courteous. They took care to clean up the construction area on a daily basis. The project was finished a month ahead of schedule, a rare occurrence it today's remodeling market! I give my highest recommendation to Remodeling Pros.

The work took three weeks to.complete. The work was done in a very professional manner. All the workers and Keith were easy to communicate and work with on the contract. I would use them again for any remodeling job.

After 13 years I was having my entire house remodeled. Total square feet, not including the pool area, was about 3000. I needed this done in a short period of time because I had taken too long getting quotes on my own from each of the trades and had to be done in time for my daughter?s wedding. I decided to look into hiring a general contractor when I felt overwhelmed at having to coordinate all the work within the time left. I found Keith Sheets/Remodeling Pros on Angie?s List. I sat with Keith to go over the list of what I was looking for and to talk about the timetable: Replace carpet/linoleum/tile with hardwood floors throughout the first floor. Entire house interior painting. Granite counter-tops in open kitchen/bar/island. Hall bath floor tile and granite counter-tops. French doors and transom/window leading out to pool. New Pool deck, marcite, enclosure, equipment, lights. Keith arranged for a series of bids and supplied a final quote. Having already gotten 2 to 3 quotes for each area on my own I was able to compare them to what Keith had itemized and found that there was little difference in the overall cost. In some cases Keith?s quotes were lower and in some a little higher but overall it was about the same as the total cost I had arrived at on my own before contacting Keith. It was comforting to have an experienced GC looking out for my interests and for nearly the same price I would have paid without a GC. We started the first week in May and everything was finished just before the last week in June. Which was exactly when I needed it completed! The final result was absolutely beautiful. In some cases Keith uses his own staff and in others he hires subs he?s done business with before. Keith had experience with the people doing the work, oversees the quality of the work and manages the schedule. Keith didn't expect final payment for himself or the others he brought in till I was satisfied and I?m not easy to please. Everyone who worked on my house was personable and whenever I expressed a concern or felt something wasn't right, it was made right. Having all this work done in a short period of time while still living in the home was stressful and tiring. Keith was very good at providing the right assurances at the right time which made me more at ease when I needed it most. We did have a sizable, frustrating problem with the granite/plumbing and although it took longer than I would have liked ? Keith did everything I could have expected to make it right and in the end it was a fantastic job. I?m having the exterior of the house taken care of in preparation for putting the house up for sale and I've already contacted Keith about the job.

This was our third project with Remodeling Pros. Our first project with Remodeling Pros about 5 years ago was a small dining room addition. All went well with that project and in 2011 we did a major home addition/renovation. Project consisted of the addition of approx. 900 sq. ft., most on the 2nd floor of our house and renovation of about 500 sq. ft. on the 1st floor. Keith and his team were great to work with from design through construction. The challenges of a remodel like this with two small children and a dog were huge but we managed to survive, living in the house the entire project. Remodeling Pros made every effort to help keep things safe and comfortable at the house during construction. We got to know several members of the team and were very comfortable with all. When there were issues, we were able to work them out quickly and change orders were kept to a minimum and handled fairly. The most recent project was replacement of 5 windows, replacement of exterior siding with hardi-plank and painting of exterior. Again... all went smoothly. Sorry Remodeling Pros, but I don't think we have much more work for you, our house is perfect now... Can you build us a boat? Keith and Remodeling pros were great to work with on all projects. We felt their pricing was fair and their quality was excellent. If there was something we didn't like, they would make it right.

Keith was referred to us by a friend for design and general contractor work. He was able to take our sketches and ideas and turn them into a practical and attractive space that would fit our budget and the space we had available for expansion. Keith was patient, easy to work with, and knowledgeable about what could be done from a mechanical engineering/building construction perspective. He produced all of the architectural drawings for our project and contracted a mechanical design engineer to sign off on the structural drawings. He had good ideas and suggestions on how to accomplish our goals. The price was fair based on the market rates at the time and remained the price throughout the project even though we initiated several change orders during the project. We always felt like we were being treated fairly when it came to the cost of the project. The project was completed at the agreed upon price without being "nickel and dimed" for every change we made during the project. Keith has his own skilled work crew who were very competent, polite, professional and hard working. They were very responsive to our requests and very respectful of our property. We were living in the house for a short duration of the project during the early stages of the work. We always felt comfortable with Keith's team working around our family. The skills of his carpenters were excellent. We really appreciated the look of their finishing work! Keith and his team completed the project per the schedule identified at the beginning which was about 8 months. The project was completed during the holiday season without delay. I would meet with Keith every week or two in person or by phone to review progress and address problems or questions. Keith was always punctual, prepared, honest and very aware of the daily operations of his crew and sub contractors. He used subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, roofing and dry wall. We hired flooring and bathroom tiling contractors directly per our agreement with Keith. I preferred that approach so we could choose who we worked with and we did not have to pay Keith a fee for managing that group of subs. This approach worked well, Keith's guys worked with our subs with no problems. From time to time, they would give me suggestions on how our subs might complete a particular task better...I found this to be very useful and helpful. We have always recommended Keith to others without hesitation and the projects were completed with positive reviews. He has a direct, honest approach offered at a fair price with excellent quality. I would not hesitate to hire Keith and his team to complete a future project!

He has excellent workers. I was in no hurry so we didn't have a time frame. He came out and kept up with materials. He would constantly come out to check on his guys and I like that he was always available.

After months of contractor bids and comparison shopping, my husband and I successfully added on a beautiful Master Bedroom, a Game Room for our children, and a 3rd car garage. The additions by Remodeling Pros were so perfect, you would never know they were added on after the home was built. Amazing! Even our neighbors comment on how there is no way you can tell. As the 'lady of house', I was so pleased that I never had to put up with any disrespectful comments or privacy issues with the workers. You could tell they were all hand picked by Keith for their expertise AND integrity. The project was complete in 4 months time, as scheduled and on budget!! Having some construction experience myself, I initially thought these additions could have easily taken 6 months or longer. My husband and I were surprised that they were working every week day without fail (except for a few rain days) which they made up on some Saturdays. This is what you want to see above all else. Keith was often onsite and always available to talk to us. We (I) had a few change orders along the way, as one would expect, and we were not charged. Last time I built my own home, I hated to even consider a change because I knew it would really cost me $$. Remember small changes along the way are always inevitable in construction if you want to get exactly what you want (and you should.). Our neighbors often commented and were so impressed with how fast the construction was taking place. We continue to use Remodeling Pros for all of our home-improvement needs. Their work ethic of being on-time and providing the services agreed upon, cannot be equaled. Keith and his Team are always forthcoming with what jobs they will take on or refer to other reputable sources. (very few). You cannot find a more conscientious, hard working, and professional crew than the Team that Keith and Remodeling Pros have put together over the years. He was really great. He met us at the house. He called back right away and responded. He was super nice. It was just that the estimate was really high. We can do it less expensively because we actually met some people who could give us a better deal. He emailed me back really quickly and then I called them. We met a few days later. He was really nice and everything. The quote was kind of a rough estimate. It was going to be $70000. He was really prompt. He communicated well with us.

He made an appointment and came out when he was supposed to. It took a little long to get the quote back but he told us that he was going to be busy. He did pretty well on everything we asked for the quote.

Keith and his crew took our plans , made great improvements and built a beautiful 20 x 20 2 story deck complete with pergola. The price quoted was reasonable, the work completed under estimated time. The amazing thing was that I the home owner was not on site during construction, yet the completed deck far surpassed my expectations. Keith and his crew are real Building pros.

Remodeling pros was hired to create the plans and then build on another master bedroom with an exterior access door for my mother in law. Keith Sheets has been absolutely great to work with. He designed the plans and then built the room exactly as designed. He allowed my wife to make some last minute on the fly changes during the building process without any hesitation at all. The teams of worker who came to do the actual work were all professional and respectful of my 87 year old mother in law who was in the house during the entire process. That included workers for the slab , the plumbers, the electricians, the framers, the dry wall installers, the painters, the tile installers etc., What a pleasure!! Highly Recommended and -no he is not a relative of mine. I found Keith on Angie's list and thought i would assist the next guy who is interested in finding a great remodeling service.

I'm sorry to have to write an unfavorable review. I saw Remodeling Pros on Angie's List and saw the great reviews. I went to their website and loved the work I saw. I was very excited. At the end of December '12 I called and left a message. Figuring it was still during the holiday period I waited patiently for a return call. During the first week of January, '13 I called, again, leaving my contact information, again. After a couple of days of no return call I used the website email. A day or 2 later I got a call from Keith. I was happy and he sounded very pleasant. We discussed what I was interested in and what information he needed to see. He asked me to send some ideas I had via 1 of his 2 email addresses posted on his website (not the form email). Neither of the 2 email addresses worked. I emailed, through the form email on his site, again, to ask him if he would rather me fax the information or snail mail it. A day later I had not gotten a reply so I took it upon myself to go ahead and fax the papers. A day after that I called and left a message asking if he had received my fax. A few days later he called. He said he had received my fax and had an appointment coming during the next week in my area and wanted to try to schedule an appointment. I was pleased. He told me which day the appointment with the other clients was on but the time of day he wanted to meet was not good for me. So he was going to check his schedule and see if he could rearrange his meeting with the other clients or just reschedule with me. He told me he would check and call me back in a day or so. That was beginning the second week of January and I have never heard from him since. I do not know why. I was very saddened and disappointed. I would have gladly moved on to someone else if he was disinterested. But, to me, from my perspective, it appeared to be a case of unreliability. I tried so hard to get in touch and keep communication flowing from the very start and felt like I was dragging his feet through the mud to keep in touch. He seemed very nice the 2 times I actually had any communications with him but, unfortunately, "nice" doesn't get the job done. Reliability does. To have only contacted me only 2 times in 3 weeks was a red light for me.

Our backyard remodel took about 3 months from start to finish. This is what I expected. Someone was on the job nearly every day and some Saturdays, and it sure seemed to rain a lot!. Our project was involved and somewhat complicated, but Keith kept it moving and used the best sub-contractors, not the fastest or the cheapest. We made some changes along the way, but he was always helpful and flexible. His friendly manner took the stress out of the construction period. He visited the site often, told me what was coming next, and never once modified his price upward with any 'surprises' as have other contractors with whom I have worked. When something was not right, he had his subcontractors redo it. We had no issues with inspections. The space we have is better than I imagined it would be, and prettier than the landscape architects drawings. In short, we are thrilled to have our new outdoor space and would recommend Remodeling Pros highly. I have another project in mind one day for inside my home. When I am ready, I'll call Keith.

Working with Keith of Remodeling Pros was great. Keith is very honest and forthcoming. He allowed us to be involved in the design process and incorporated our desires/input into the final design. Keith did the design, obtained engineering approval, and pulled all required permits. The remodel started when promised and lasted for the time Keith indicated it would take. When the county threw us some curve balls, Keith went to bat for us handling all of the counties concerns. We also had our A/C system split since the remodel opened up areas not normally accessible and thanks to the county we had to replace our drain field. Keith helped us find a good A/C person and a good septic company. Keith kept us informed of the progress through weekly status calls and he was also at the site overseeing progress on almost a daily basis. The finished product is simply amazing. Keith and his crew do amazing work. Additionally, Keith's crew was very conscientious and kept the work site clean with no trash left behind at the end of the day. Finally, there were no cost surprises. The project was completed on cost.

I'm very satisfied. It was big job. I think they did a very good job. His two primary employees were out of this world good.
