He bought me some more trees for us to plant. He checked on what was going on with the plants that he had planted in the fall. He did his own follow-up. We didn't ask him to come for anything. He just did extra. I liked him a lot.

Description of Work: Two large flower beds were dug up and replanted with native Florida or Florida friendly plants. There were several large bushes that had to be dug up, then the soil was leveled out and the new plants were installed. It was a lot of work. Alfred and his helper did an awesome job. The plants are very healthy organic plants (grown without the use of chemicals). I knew I wanted native Florida plants but I didn't know which plants to use or where to place them. Leslie and Alfred came out and looked over the property and then drew up a sketch of the new design and placement of the plants. They were awesome and so professional. I love my new plants and am so glad that I will soon see lots of butterflies, bees and other beneficial insects. In a few months they will redo another large flower bed for us. We would definitely recommend them and will use them again.

Initially the line of bushes she planted along the house were too sparse, so we paid for her to come out and plant Fire Power shrubs in between. A month after the initial planting, many plants had died (even with the proper amount of care from us) so Leslie came out and replanted a couple things. The Preen they had laid down did nothing to prevent weed growth in the beds and now I have a regular weed puller that comes to the house for $12/hr once a week. After around 6 months, about half of the plants had died (again, with the proper quality of care), and Leslie offered to come replant everything that was dead if we paid for the plants, (ostensibly giving us her time at no cost). But after spending nearly $1,300 we felt that it was not our responsibility to continue to pay for the modest service she was offering. At around 9 months nearly everything but the firepower bushes, a Tea Olive tree and a Japanese Maple were dead and I stopped watering the areas because I looked ridiculous watering my dead landscaping. We have had a number of lawn care specialists look at the planting beds since then and their ubiquitous comment has been that our beds are full of sand. I'm not sure how the soil that N&UP laid down turned to sand, but it seems like a pretty big oversight to me. The Pierponts are very nice people and seem genuinely knowledgeable, so I'm willing to chalk this up to some kind of extenuating circumstance. But nonetheless, we will be going with a different company next time.
Description of Work: Leslie came out and investigated our planting areas and gave us a list of species that are native and non-intrusive to the area, which is the main reason we wanted to work with them. Over a week or two, we selected our plants and then she, her son and a couple hands took up our old plants and topsoil and replaced it with new topsoil, preen, mulch and landscaping. Leslie returned on a few occasions to replace plants that had died.

We take pride in choosing the healthiest, biggest plants for the customer's dollars. It was disappointing to watch the results of the dry soil and lack of an irrigation system. I hope they have better success in the future.

We asked her to come out and give us an estimate. She was the only one who charged us. Her estimate came in double the amount of the bid the contractor provided that we ultimately chose. Very opinionated, almost rude. Didn't want to hear our ideas. Wanted to charge us $2000 to bring in a dumpster. The winning bidder provided one for $500.
Description of Work: Physically came to our house and afterwards provided an estimate to tear out existing landscaping and replace with new landscaping.

I think they must have misunderstood my estimate. The dumpster cost $300-$500, which included delivery and dump fees. The entire tearout & cleanup including the dumpster was quoted at $2000.

The entire process went very smoothly and i got exactly what i wanted.
Description of Work: Leslie and her crew took my back yard completely down to the dirt, added compost, and installed a beautiful landscape with a large variety of plants designed to bloom at different times of the year, different colors and textures, etc. Leslie came to my house, took measurements, asked me what i wanted to achieve, and then she came back in a few weeks with a beautiful color drawing with plants drawn in and labeled. she and her crew took out the old stuff in one day and installed the new in one day a couple of days later. She came back to check on the plants after about a month and replaced 2-3 that died. She is meticulous about her work. Outstanding result at a very fair price, i thought.

Leslie is very nice and understanding--I had been burned by paying half for undelivered sod to another company, and she was kind enough not to ask for payment until the entire project was done. She and her crew came when she said they would and they finished in two days, as promised. now I have a very unique yard with grass paths and a butterfly garden, an herb garden and spireas. Her crew is hard working, very pleasant ment. Leslie gets right in there and works with them. I love my new yard, a pretty place.
Description of Work: Sod removed, azaleas in front & side of house removed, dead tree taken down, tree limbs trimmed. Mulch delivered, dumpster arrived. Many many lovely plants. Path lawn laid.

Great!
Description of Work: They planted a 30 x 5 foot bed along the front of my quadraplex. It included 50 native plants. This might sound expensive, but I had a serious drainage problem that had to be fixed before any thing could be expected to grow in what I not so happily called the lake that my flower bed became everytime the sprinklers came on. She and her me dug up 4 feet of the muck the builder had put down. Put in 3 feet of rock and one foot of good soil and than planted wet loving native plants and expected that to solve the problem. Alas, I still had a smaller lake and the plants were looking sick. She and here men came back and dug up the plants and good soil (free of charge) and buried a sump pump in the rock, which in plug in when it rains or the sprinklers come on. Then they used more rock (also free) and replanted my plants. Problem solved. I would recommend her and her staff highly. Very knowlegeable, very professional, and willing to stick with the job until it is done right.

It went perfect!! The only hitch was I was glad I was there to rearrange some of the layout of the plants and a tree I asked to move, probably shouldn't have been until cooler weather. But she knew to call ask to dig people (she was the only one I interviewed who suggested this), She doesn't cut corners and lordy she knows her stuff. Been in the Native Plant Society for 10 yrs.I live in HOA w/ cookie cutter lawns and everyone is loving it.Much prettier than grass w/ shrubs.
Description of Work: Took out sod, complete new plants-all individual native plants (MUCH more time consuming than merely rolling sod!!) Planted around 200 plants plus 3 trees. A perfectionist-used 3 men plus herself, a sod cutter, dump truck, 8 yds. mulch-spent all day making my small yard breathtaking!! Wrote beautiful landscape plan-an expert in Fl. Native plants and her own nursery is equally gorgeous.

The member was correct that moving her bottlebrush tree in July was going to jeopardize it, but she wanted something else in that spot. I really appreciate her words of praise!
