KB HOME

Well lets just say that the problems began before we even moved in. I will try and remember as many as I can but it is pretty hard considering there are so many issues. Lets start in the kitchen.Our countertops were uneven and there is still a gap under my diswasher that has nothing under it. We have a double oven and the contractor who put it in cracked our cabinets to shame so they had to be replaced. The toilet paper knobs kept falling off and the windows downstairs are not level. The sheetrock they use chips in all corners and baseboards are uneven which tells me the floors are uneaven. The floors had bubbles and we eventually took them out and layed down tile. Low and behold there were tons of cracks in the cement floor. Some of which were huge holes. There was a spot in the ceiling in our laundry room that completely fell out so again, someone had to some out and fix that. The upstairs floors moved, creeked and actually had a dip at one point in the hallway. It took them about 3-4 times coming out to fix this problem. The biggest problem is our Stucco issues. It has been cracking since day one and we have said something about it since day one and all they say is that it is the warranty guidelines. Now, 2 years into our brand new home, there are 3 areas where our stucco is buldging and about to fall off. The only thing KB wants to do is fill in the cracks and paint it. I actually had a Stucco specialist come out and take a look at it who wrote up a report stating that KB's contractors applied the stucco wrong, that it is always going to crack and how it can be fixed the right way. Well the right way is far from filling in the cracks and painting. I am at a point where I want to sell my home and never look at KB ever again. I have expressed to them that the cracks may have water in them which we all know leads to mildew and their response is that "oh well this is the only option we are giving you to fix it" not the let the wood dry out if wet and re-do the stucco like the specialist told me it should be done. I would stay as far away from a KB Home as possible because all it is going to do is cause you headache and tons of cash. None of the people I have dealt with at my KB home community give a crap about any of their homeowners. All they care about is their paycheck. Dealing with Darren Gowens and David Crosby will do nothing but p*** you off because they are the absolute worst when it comes to customer service. There is only one person who ever cared to look at our concerns and be nice about it but I wont drag him into an ugly situation. Just beware that they will talk a good game and make their homes look like a masterpiece just to get you to sign on the dotted line. However they do not provide you with a warranty book until AFTER you sign and then when you have problems they tell you "oh didnt you read the warranty before you got it"? Their warranty is bogus and a big crock just to get you to sign the contract. I pay almost $1500 a month for a house that is falling apart. This was our first home and our dream home and Im regretting every second of allowing KB the opportunity to earn our business because they are the last ones on earth I would ever considering giving my money to again. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY FROM KB HOME in all states. Read customer reviews because after my experience I did and I wish I did my research before buying my home. There are thousands of bad reviews mainly for stucco problems and mildew. Not the type of problems you will want to see in your home period. All I can say is that after they "fix" my stucco AGAIN I hope that I never have to talk to another KB Home representative because they are money hungry, rude and inexperienced.

I cannot tell you how happy we are with the job done by K.B. Our new home is just perfect. With them taking care of all the subcontractors, we had no worries. If any minor changes or corrections had to be made, they dealt with it. The house is just how we envisioned it and I highly recommend these wonderful contractors.
