Description of Work: They were hired for four hours preparing the walls of my bathroom for painting. This was a total of roughly 130 square feet of walls (6x8 for two walls with large window, 1x5 above a tiled shower stall, and the wall with a door and medicine cabinet.) The walls had a sheet of wallboard which they did skim. However, most of the bathroom I had removed the wallpaper which they were supposed to get ready for the painting. This is the type of work they advertise. Most of the time was used up waiting for skim to dry. I should not be too h****** them, there was an educational component as they told my wife how to do the work they were hired to do.

Description of Work: Joe was very thorough with the steps involved with repairing and refinishing the ceiling. He was prompt and very professional.

Description of Work: They came to the house and took measurements and pictures. The employee who came out was very professional and was told that I would have a quote within a few days. I never received it. I called multiple times and left messages without a return call. When I finally spoke with the owner 5 weeks later, he had to try to locate the quote. He did call me back but notified me that they would not quote the job because "they could not predict what kind of trouble they might find when the replaced the ceiling" in my den. Despite my agreement to cover any additional cost, he refused to quote the job. I grew up in construction and I know how to make a quote and what to expect from a quote. This is not it.

Description of Work: Integrity counts with me! When my HVAC system (located on the second floor) leaked and soaked the ceiling two weeks before I was scheduled to deploy I called Joey in a panick, wondering how quickly I could get the drywall replaced and the texture refinished and how much it was going to cost me. Joey asked me to send him some photos and IMMEDIATELY called me back and told me that it was likely that I wouldn't need to repair the ceiling. Letting it dry should be enough. He then walked me through the steps necessary to ensure that the ceiling was dry and that there wasn't any damage. If there had been damage, he told me he'd be able to get out the next day to take a look at it and begin repairs. I GREATLY respect him for his willingness to not take advantage of my situation and for providing advice and guidance even if it meant I didn't need to use him to fix the ceiling. As a result, the next time I need ANY such repairs done, I know who I'm calling!!! Honesty is huge in my book and Joey's integrity was a breath of fresh air!

Description of Work: I hired a company thru Angie's List to remove the wallpaper from my main bathroom. A complete nightmare. My walls are ruined and I am going to have to pay someone to come in and re-sheet rock my bathroom walls. I took pictures and sent to Kat Hicks. I was just wasting my time. Nothing was ever done. I am going to get the pictures and publish them everywhere.

Description of Work: He repaired 8 corners that had cracks, some fairly large. Overall was pretty efficient and clean. Did find some ruble on a high window sill and a bit of plaster on the carpet (came up with just water). Felt like the mudding could have been smoother (some places needed more sanding and a few areas where the mesh tape could be seen through the mud). He was pleasant and professional. I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist but did not see the issues until I was doing touch-up paint a day or 2 later so did not ask him to make any improvements to what he had done.

Description of Work: removed wallpaper. Had his son remove the wallpaper and he had never done it before. Shredded my walls and then stated it would be $600 more to patch the walls so they could be painted.

Description of Work: This provider was not professional and was not motivated in any way to assist me .
