As it turned out the repair was fairly simple, rewiring the GFI which had replaced, correctly. Mr. Howard was nice enough to show me how to wire it in the future and gave me a what I thought to be a reasonable quote for another more ambitious project. He arrived on time and was very cordial.

I would say they are OK at doing basic eletrical work, but I would avoid using them for anything to do with low-vltage. They clearly do not work wih low voltage very often. They didn't know how to install my track lighting correctly and LED lights correctly. They ended up leaving 2 of my 3 pendant lights on the table and saying they didn't work. I got them working 10 minutes after they left. They also charged me more money than quoted because they said extra time to do the pendant lighting, however, it would have been a lot less time if they knew what they were doing. They also left a lot of mess for us to clean up.
