Paul was the tech that came out and was so nice. He found a problem, explained different options to resolve the issue, and explained the long term outcome. Since Im a first time home buyer, it was nice to have someone explain everything. Thank you!
Description of Work: The tech did an inspection of the air handler and the external unit. There was one problem found, mildew growing in the air handler. He offered 2 options to correct the problem and how effective they would be in the long run.

I started corresponding and speaking with Tammy in the office, and she was very friendly and addressed all my questions and concerns. I decided to purchase their service agreement which offers two maintenance checks with a tune-up twice a year. The young man who came out, Andy, was very polite, professional and knowledgeable. So far I'm very pleased with my choice, and I am looking forward to a long relationship with Hammond Air!!

+ -1 moreWonderful service! Our 1942 home has an air handler in the attic. Of course we had a clog in the line which backed up and caused water damage to our ceiling. Hammond came out the next day, cleared the clog and explained the issue was with the age of the home. The PVC pipes have bowed a bit due to the heat of the attic and we had an algae issue. It was suggested that we add a pump to the handler to push out the water. We ordered the part and it was installed 3 days later. Great experience. On time and professional. Thanks!

+ -1 moreA/C stopped working Saturday evening. Called Hammond early Sunday morning and my call was returned within 10 minutes by the owner of the company. I opted to wait until Monday for service to avoid the higher weekend service fee. On Monday, service technician Paul arrived shortly after 8:30 a.m. He inspected the system thoroughly, found the issue immediately (blown capacitors), and performed the repair quickly. He was very polite, professional, and efficient. This was easily one of the best "repair" experiences I have ever had and we will not hesitate to call Hammond again for any future central heating & air needs.

+ -1 moreTheir service was excellent. The guys were very knowledgeable and everything was cleaned. They rebuilt the air handler box, it was brand new and they insulated it and put a new top on it. They are very honest. Everything I asked for in addition they did as well.
Description of Work: They installed a new air conditioner, a new air handler box, and a new thermostat. They also went up in the attic and sealed up the duct work and checked for leaks.

+ -1 moreAngie's list had a 'deal' with this company for an a/c tune up for $25. When I called to make the appt, I also asked if the tech could give me an estimate on duct cleaning as well (future business). Appt set for between 10am and noon on 5/18. Noon comes and goes without any communication from the company. At 12:15 I call the office and am told that the technician got caught up in an earlier appt and was on his way to my house. 1:15 comes an goes and no tech and no calls from the company. At 1:30 I had had enough and was leaving the house to take care of some errands. Just as I am getting into my car, someone in an UNMARKED white van pulls into my driveway. Says he's the a/c tech. I told him don't bother getting out of his van as I was done with this company. He asked if I wanted to reschedule, and I said NO, I would request a refund from Angie's List which I have done. I don't feel I want to waste another 3 1/2 hours on this company! Bottom line is you get what you pay for!

+ -1 moreEverything worked out right for me. They are on Angie’s list. They replaced the whole inside and outside unit. They tested everything before they left. My mother hasn’t come here for years, they were the second people that gave me an estimate and they were $2000 cheaper.

+ -1 moreStarting with my initial phone call, everyone I spoke to at Hammond was courteous and took extra care to make they understood my concerns and that my expectations were being met. The service men arrived ahead of schedule...I received a courtesy call from dispatch prior to their arrival to make sure it would be okay. My system is 10+ years old and I was prepared for the "you need a whole new system" verdict. Within the first few minutes of their inspection I pleasantly surprised to hear "we might be in luck". It turned out the problem could be solved with an inexpensive part replacement. The entire service call lasted 45 minutes. Both servicemen were responsive and took time to explain things (in laymen terms) when asked questions about the condition of my system. At the conclusion of the final inspection I was told everything looked to be working fine vs. getting the all too familiar sales pitch to purchase special, likely unneeded services. There is no doubt who I will call next time I have needs around my heating/ac system.
Description of Work: Call was made to repair my AC which has suddenly stopped cooling. They replaced a burned out compressor capacitor and performed a full system inspection.

It ended up being the motor was burned out and fortunately for me, the repairman had a replacement with him. Would highly recommend this company to anyone. Overall I would say the experience was Awesome x Awesome!

Description of Work: The person who came over let me know when he would arrive. He did an A/C inspection and tune up. He was started with the theromostat, then the vent and then the air conditioner. He told me exactly what the condition of the unit was and his findings and advice. He was very professional.

Aaron checked the existing equipment and offered freebies including a pad to elevate the outside unit and a UV light to kill germs and other growth in the air handler. He explained everything in detail and later that evening I received the quotes for two different brands. He explained the major differences and I didsome online research myself. On his recommendation I went with Bryant equipment. The installers arrived on time and did an outstanding job. The equipment and installation has a nice clean professional appearance. The outside unit is very quiet. The installers cleaned up everything. A very nice job - start to finish. I am extremely happy with Hammond.

+ -1 moreThe technician arrived exactly on time and went to work. You could readily tell that he was experienced and professional. During the process of removing the old unit he discovered that the return duct size was not sufficient for the new high efficiency unit - nor, as it turned out, was it really more than just adequate for the old builder's model being replaced. The technician called his office and ordered the size ducting that was required. There was no attempt to upcharge or push for an increase. It was just "handled" professionally and promptly. One has the feeling that, like as not, some other vendors may have just hooked up to the existing inadequate ducting and let it go. Again, confirms to us that we made the proper selection with Hammond. Hammond's owner visited the installation twice to ensure that all was on track and that we were satisfied with the work being performed. Hammond's personnel did not ask for payment before the job was 100% complete and we were happy that all had been completed as promised. I am a bit "old school" and theseboth are a nice touch. Hammond's techncians cleaned up any mess or trash resulting from the installation (as they went along) and were extra careful in respect to preventing mess in the inside of the house. If the unit runs as well as the installation went, we will be quite satisfied with the purchase. (Note: we may come back and update after a few months of operation)
Description of Work: Hammond replaced the 12 year old contractor's model installed by the builder and upgraded the duct work. Our process was as follows: Hammond was one of five local companies (all selected/reviewed from Angie's list) that were invited to visit our home to bid on appropriate replacement unit. Each company was asked to bid "good, better, best" units and furnish pros/cons with their recommendation for best fit with reasons why. The contractors were also asked to review existing installation in respect to condition of duct work, supply lines and circuit breaker size. Bid prices and models were not shared with other contractors nor were they "played against" one another. Interestingly, one of the five contractors made an appointment and simply did not show! He did not keep the appointment or call. Have not heard from him in over four weeks. He eliminated himself. One of the remaining four is associated with a wholesale club but, oddly, was disqualified for two reasons you might not suspect: (1) Approximately 25% higher than all other vendors - AFTER indicating a "$2500 discount"!? (2) Also, researching the brand they install led to the information that less than 20% of the individuals that purchased this brand would do so again or recommend the product to a relative or friend. (Research of this brand led to widespread problems being reported with poor factory support to the dealer) One of the remaining three negelected to leave literature and, despite three follow up requests, did not provide the literature. The last two calls were to bidders personal cell voice mail without calls being returned. A shame really, as the models presented in the bid, quotations and financing were competitive. Again, contractor eliminated himself. The two remaining were also competive in price. Both had excellent reputations and ratings. The brands/models presented were comparable and had good service reputations. Hammond won the business as their representative offered to provide some extras to earn the business. With the prices being so close, this proved to be the difference. After the installation, we are more glad than ever we selected them.

Told us about some things missing that we did not know about. We had recently bought this forclosure knowing the A/C unit was missing. Aaron and Mike both understood our need for quick service, so we can move in. Aaron gave us mutiple choices on units with different SEER ratings. We picked the Rheem 14 SEER, and scheduled service for the following Monday. The crew arrived early, got right to work, found more crushed ductwork way back under the house, still finished on time even with added work and parts. + -1 moreexperience couldn't have been much better. Brandon Hammond scheduled our estimate within 24 hrs of the initial call. He accommodated all the questions we had and helped us find the right system at the right price. He even got the manufacturer to upgrade the system we put in the rental. Price was great! Install went pretty well too. They started the job as soon as we settled on the sytem and the other work we wanted. The whole job took longer than I thought it would (3 days for the 2 units at our home), but I can't argue with the quality of the work.
Description of Work: Hammond replaced 3 a/c units for us. 2 at our home and 1 at a rental property. We were replacing 18 yo units in our home, so the install ncluded a lot of custom work to bring the system up to current standards.

I called and left a message for Brandon at about 6:30 pm and by 7:45 he was at our home fixing the problem,( a minor glitch with a water sensor) within a few minutes we had cold air again. The customer service that Hammond Air provides is unbelieveable! We are SO glad that we had them install our new unit and would highly recommend them to anyone. Again we give them an A++++!

Lady answered right away and we talked about pricing and appointment times. 9:30am was set up for the technician to arrive and detailed explanation of what community we reside. This morning has come and gone without any communications from the technician (maybe he/she is running late or something) or the office to explain any situation that may have arisen. I called and all I got was an answering machine, but asked that someone call us. An hour later I called again, answering machine, and canceled the appointment. That is the end of then story from our end.
Description of Work: None, because I called and canceled the service appointment. All the communications I got this morning was via an answering machine at their office.
