Green Energy Spray Foam Insulation

The job was originally quoted at $1600. When I was ready to schedule the installation, they coincidentally had a Big Deal of $500 credit toward attic insulation installation for $150. So I purchased this and then scheduled the job, but they reminded me that my power company was also offering a $300 up-front rebate for this type of work. So in the end, I paid $950 total. When Camille and crew came out to install, they upgraded the insulation from R-38 to R-40 (slightly more efficient). They made no mess, there were no complications or hidden costs. So I got a minor upgrade, and thanks to their guidance I only paid a little more than half the original quote. It's too early to tell how this will affect the electric usage; I won't get hard numbers until after the first week of October. But I can definitely tell that it stays cooler, and my Nest thermostat is showing about 14 hours of AC usage on hot days rather than 18.

It was very good. I would rate them highly. They charged three or four hundred dollars more as I had some extra services done by them. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

Green Energy Services came and assessed our home to determine how to save energy. He recommended foam insulation and changing our light bulbs to LEDs... We purchased a $99 coupon through an offer on the Internet. We feel it was money well-spent and we learned a lot!

From the initial phone call to completion of the job, he (the owner/technician, and his secretary) was responsive., prompt, and professional. Even Though I was getting a $350.00 discount because I had a coupon from Angie's list, I was treated as valued as much as if I had been paying full price for a huge job. This business owner reminded me of the kind of ole-fashioned business men I remembered from growing uo in the 1950's. People of that generation will know what I man. People who took pride in their business, doing their job, well, and making sure that the customer is completely satisfied with the outcome. People who do what they say they will do when they say they will. This used to be the expected norm. It is now sadly a rare exception. I am certain that no one who uses this company will be disappointed.

Arrived on time. Set up carefully and got to work. Done quickly, and the guys were careful with my property. Clean up included, no indication that they were there once they left. The team supervisor was quite friendly and even gave me some good advice on some other work I was looking into... very helpful. I will call on these folks again should I need anything in their service line.

I left a message and they called right back. We spoke over the phone. I told them that I had a den that I was looking to have more insulation installed. They explained that the deal was for whole house insulation only and couldn’t do just partial.

Camille is a stand up great guy and always very timely. I got to know him pretty good over the several days it took to remove all my old insulation and spray both of my attics. I have high cathedral ceilings so this part of the house could not be reached. Camille is a very industrious and honest business man. He gave me a Angies list discount, military discount and I also received the JEA discount that was running to upgrade my house. Our house was built in 1983 and overall not insulated very good and approximately 1771 square feet. Camille's team had a few delays with equipment and PPE as the temperature in the attic was approximately 125 degrees. They ran out of foam one day and they had to come back to finish up. Extremely hot days in the attic and I don't know how his crew does this day after day. I provided plenty of lemonade and water to keep everyone hydrated. Camille walked my whole house and we reviewed with his thermal camera areas that need additional attention that spray foam won't correct. I am making a plan to bring them back to work on some window tinting and a sky light upgrade that he suggested to further make my house a green efficiency. This guy is a general contractor and knows home construction and how to make a home more efficient and save you money. My sky lights and front windows need some tweaking to help reduce radiant heat. I would of never guessed the temperature on my sky light was 105 degrees which shines directly into the house helping escalate my temperature. While I recently changed out my A/C and most ducting last year I should of had Green Energy come in and put the spray foam before I changed out my A/C because we probably could of reduced our 4 Ton Trane unit to a 3 Ton unit. We have noticed that our A/C doesn't run as much and with some tips for installing high efficiency fans this will help reduce my electric bill further. Camille even went to Lowes with me and pointed out which fans I could enjoy the best benefits for my situation. I bought a new 68 inch fan a few days back but haven't installed it yet. Camille has many great ideas from evaluating the refrigerator, dishwasher, and lights to energy star rating. Looking forward to getting my first electric bill with the upgrades to see the savings. My last bill with water and electric was close to $300.00. I also called several clients that he previous upgraded and many were singing praises for what improvements he made on their houses. I put one of his signs in my front yard and hope my neighbors take advantage of helping them save money also. For one things sure JEA rates are not going down, just like the gas pump. Give this guy a shot to earn your business and I think you won't be sorry. My neighbor came down to evaluate as they are thinking about doing this to their house also.

I couldn't be happier with my new spray foam insulation. The owner came out two weeks ahead of time to look at the house and look at the attic and drafted me a quote. He then returned on the weekend we had chosen to do the work. He was very flexible and accommodating with my work schedule and when I would be available to be at the house. Removal of the old insulation took one whole day and installation of the spray foam took another whole day. So that I wouldn't be stuck for a week without any insulation he agreed to come back on Sunday to do the spray foam install which was really nice. Overall I was very please with everything. I believe the owner gave me a very fair deal and was hands down one of the most knowledgeable and professional contractors in this business. I've had a Nest thermostat installed for almost a year and am able to track how long my a/c unit runs every day. For my 1400 sq foot house, before the spray foam insulation was installed my a/c was running on average in the summer 12-13hrs/day and after the spray foam installation I'm averaging 6-7hrs/day on the a/c, a huge improvement! After saving up some more money I plan to hire Green Energy Builders once more to do closed cell spray foam under my house as well.

He gave a verbal summary of recommendations, many of which I was already aware of. He did provide some other tips and tricks like plugging outlets and keeping the A/C vent door open, which were helpful, but in my opinion not worth even 100. I had to request a written print out of the recs and insulation estimates, and that took 2 days to return. Overall I do not believe the service was worth the price, and certainly not the full retail price.

Found issues with thermal leaks from the ceiling; recommended additional blown insulation, caulking around registers, wrapping hot water heater and putting on a timer, etc. The real value in this assessment was seeing visibly where heat was leaking in from the ceiling. Our local electric company will send out a rep for a free power/water efficiency survey, but they aren't equipped with infrared sensors. This additional service by itself can cost several hundred dollars, so this $99 deal was very helpful.

Owner showed up on time for the quote. Quoted a higher price that was quoted elsewhere, but matched the price and the reviews here on angies list were better for this place anyway. I decided to go with this company because the owner believes in doing the job the right way the first time. His workers were professional and courteous. Cleaned up after themselves as well. Experience went well and I have already noticed a considerable difference in the time that it takes to cool my house. While the price for spray foam insulation may be substantially higher than other types, the savings in the electric bill and tax rebates more than make up for the investment. Critters are also sealed out and the attic is a more comfortable place to be. I recommend this company and will happily hire him again if the need arises.

Crew tried to pull a fast one. Contracted Green Energy Builders & Solutions to spray 5-1/2 inches open cell foam under roof deck and 2 inches closed cell foam under floor on our 1100 sq foot home. Was present during the roof deck spray, roof portion was slow to finish due to equipment problems so they had to return the next morning to spray under floor. Was unable to meet them for start of morning spray, by the time I got there they had finished and packed up the truck. Initial examination of under floor spray looked good, but later discovered they had sprayed approximately 50 square feet of open cell foam in one area under the floor (a no-no as open cell absorbs moisture), then coated it with a thin layer of the closed cell foam for part of it and left the rest exposed. Can we say FRAUD? Not only is this cheating me financially as I didn't get the two inches of more expensive closed cell foam I paid for, but you just don't use open cell under a house in Florida, period! Update: After several calls and weeks, the crew returned and, with me present to observe, removed the open cell foam from under the house and sprayed the correct closed cell. I inspected and was satisfied with the results. When I then mentioned to the supervisor (Camille) about now removing all the chunks of foam laying under the house he hesitated to reply, but the crew caught my drift and immediately shoveled the stuff out and hauled it away. All in all I am pleased with the performance of the foam, but the overall experience with the company was negative. So if you choose Green Energy Builders always go back and check the work yourself.

On the day of work Mr. Touma was our contact person and both he and his colleague performed above expectations. They were punctual, efficient and did a great job. They even cleaned up any residual mess left from the service. Mr. Touma, his office staff and colleagues are truly pleasant to work with. I have no hesitation recommending them or using them in the future. Thanks for a great job.

We Were Very Impressed With The Professionalism And Went With Another Contractor (One With Whom We Are Confident Of His Work) Simply Based On Price.

The price was right and the work was completed professionally and ahead of schedule which usually doesn't happen with most companies. We love saving money and being energy efficient. No matter how big or small I will always call this company for "anything" related to construction. Our new home is under construction now.

They were just great and did a very good job.

Green Energy was spot on from the first phone call- friendly, accomodating, and professional. The field representative arrived right on time for our estimate (which was way under our expected budget btw) and was actually able to complete the insulation install then and there. After waiting over 6 months for our short sale to go through it was an absolute joy to work with a company that knew how to get the job done in a prompt, professional, and pleasant manner.

I called this company about the BIG DEAL they are offering, because the deal provides no real information about what is included in the energy audit or what type of insuation (open cell or closed cell) or how much square feet of insulation will be sprayed into ones attic. First to me a "Real" Energy Audit includes a blower door test and using smoke pens to isolate and find all air leaks. According to the company this energy audit includes non of that and the type of energy audit I expected would be a thousand dollars. So in my opinion you will be gettting some basic simple type of energy audit. But worst the ad does not say how many square feet of insulation you will be getting and how many inches of insulation they will be spraying. And I still could not get a clear answer when talking to the company owner. His attitude was well if the cost is $1000 it will cost you $800 ($300 + $500). I do not know how anyone can pay $300 for an unknown cost. Who knows what this company will charge you and if that cost is even competitive. I would highly recommend getting a clear estimate so your cost is known first.

From start to finish we are pleased customers and will always use this company in the future.The punctual, courteous professionalism we experienced was outstanding. There doesn't seem to be anything either big or small that this company can't do when it comes to construction and saving money

We live out of state and a friend that checks on the property for us inadvertently discovered that we had a hole in the roof from a tropical storm that came through and caused interior water damage. Camile's prices were far and he worked very fast to repair the roof so that we could get the interior of the home repaired. He even e-mailed pictures to me so I could see the work.

My son told me to use them and they were just wonderful. They were professional and very clean. They treated the house like their own. They started helping me save money on my electric bill earlier in the year when it was cold. Now, I'm saving about 50% on my electric bill and the house is very comfortable. My new bathroom looks like a spa.. His ideas for the space were exactly what I wanted plus more. He also remodeled my kitchen. We are always cooking in the kitchen for the family and now we practically live in there. The insulation that they replaced was like dirt. Grey and breaking a part. I can't believe that we were breathing that in. Another company came and said that all we needed was to add more insulation. Our house feels cleaner and the air seems fresher and the I have a lot less dust! I will use them in the future and will continue to refer them to my friends. Great service and a great price!!!

,Green Energy Builders just completed our job and we are beyond satisfied. The work too several weeks but we had them build a sunroom and a separate garage. We wanted to create a "greener, healthier, environment. We were looking for both beauty and function for our remodeling and additions. He first came out and diagnosed our home and got an idea of what we were looking for. His design ideas were better than any one else had suggested and he was able to figure out a "green" way of doing it. As soon as we agreed on the design he started construction.. They performed the work without any problem or hitch.. They were professional and kept us involved throughout the process. I only wish he had built my home from the beginning since his work in unsurpassed. If I need any construction work or remodeling, this is the company I will go with and they were recommended to me from a close friend.

Professional, great price and in and out in one day. Awesome to deal with from beginning to end!
