I contacted Lou by email to request an inspection of our new roof. We were not pleased with the quality of work our roofer performed. Lou emailed me back and quoted me $135 for a roof inspection. He asked for my home address so that he would verify the roofer pulled the appropriate permits. We scheduled a day and time to meet at my house. Lou was early actually and assessed our roof as requested. He was so wonderful, that he didn't charge us for the inspection because he did not find anything wrong with the work done our roof. He was so nice and provided some advice on other areas of the outside of our home (since we are going to be selling soon). I could not believe how wonderful Lou was and I can't thank him enough for his advice.. When we buy our next home, he will be the first person we call for an inspection. I highly recommend Lou!

Lou came out and did an inspection at a house that we were looking to by. Very courteous and professional and knowledgeable. I followed him through the whole inspection which was 3.5 hours and he was incredibly thorough and inspected many things that others would not have even thought to do. He had the report to me later that afternoon. Great job!!!

Lou was fantastic! After reading all the great reviews here on Angie's List, I decided to go with Lou and was very impressed. I had set the appointment for the home inspection about a week prior and the office staff were very friendly and professional. On the day of the inpsection, Lou actually got there before I could and was ready to begin. Although I was told by my realtor to let the home inspectors do their thing and not shadow them; Lou mentiond that if I wanted to shadow him, it wouldn't be a problem. He was very professional & thorough and answered all my questions even after the inspection was done. He even gave me ballpark figures on what the repairs would cost me. Within 24 hours just like he promised I had the home inspection report with pictures and thermal scans. He was great and I highly recommend him if you are looking to get a home inspection done.

My experience with First Choice was great! Lou was early for the appointment, friendly and professional. The inspection was very complete, along with helpful suggestions. I would recommend First Choice to anyone that asked me for a home inspection referral.

Lou arrived on time and answered all my questions. As a first home owner, I had many doubts about maintenance of the equipments, as air conditioner, water softener, pool pump etc. He showed me things I should do to prevent further problems. The report was very detailed and I am happy with the service. He is a great professional.

You don't have to look any further! Lou Prinzi is the man! I couldn't have asked for anything more. He was on-time, friendly/personable, EXTREMELY knowledgeable, highly detailed, willing to explain everything step by step. Lou really helped us make a decision about buying this house; although, it was one of those bitter sweet moments. We were ready to move into this great property, but after the inspections, we realized all of the little repairs were going to cost us over $70K. That was going to price us out of the market, and that didn't even include upgrades. His prices were on the higher end of the scale, but were worth every penny. The confidence we gained from his inspection, will defiantly ensure when we do find the right house, he'll be doing the inspection.

The inspector (Lou Prinzi) is an awesomely nice guy. He was happy to explain what he was doing and what his findings were. He was open to my comments, questions and general inquisitiveness about aspects of my property. His work started in the garage, he checked all outside outlets, water heater, dishwasher, cabinet doors, bathroom fixtures, etc. He had his own (very cool) telescoping ladder and checked out the attic, even finding damage that was caused by a Pulte contractor on a previous visit. Lou explained the limitations and maintenance requirements of my HVAC and other appliances. Before the end of the day, I had received his report by e-mail and assurance I would be receiving a copy by mail. The process was very thorough, long and tedious. It needed to be done and I am glad that I had First Choice do this inspection. It seemed smarter to have an inspection at the 11th month mark rather than the pre-purchase. After 11 months I was able to note that my hot WH had tripped its breaker several times and that the dishwasher had never worked properly, despite my cries to Pulte for assistance. It was comforting to have a competent professional to confirm some concerns and calm others. The fact that Mr. Prinzi is certified in his line of work, has extensive knowledge of aspects of the construction and not tied to Pulte in any way, gave me confidence in his findings and the results. Now I just have to deal with my contractor.

We needed a roof inspection for our insurance company on our rental property. Based on the age of the roof, the insurance company had advised us that we would have to replace the roof before they would renew our policy. We contacted First Choice Building Inspectors by e-mail and explained our situation. They promptly called and arranged for the inspection a few days later, allowing us time to contact our tenant. After completing the inspection, they e-mailed us their report, which we in turn e-mailed to the insurance company. After the insurance company reviewed the report, we received a notice in the mail, which advised us that the useful life information had been added to our policy. We are from out-of-town, and were thrilled with the professional way that First Choice responded to our request. What could have been a very expensive and inconvenient repair was avoided.

I'm in Virginia and couldn't be in Jacksonville for the inspection. They made it very easy. I had to reschedule at one point and needed to relay information to Lou -- his staff was efficient and very friendly. I had a comprehensive electronic report within a few hours of the inspection, with detailed photos and descriptions of all problem areas. Mom tells me they were very nice! I recommend Lou highly.

Lou was right on time for the appointent and didn't disappoint. He answered all my questions and explained what he was doing for each part of the inspection. I was impressed and the report I received is very detailed and to the point. An easy read to see what needs to be fixed up. I would definitely use him again if I ever needed to again.

Lou performed a thorough inspection on an historic home we are considering purchasing. He uncovered numerous items in need of repair and provided a very clear report of his findings. We followed him through the inspection and he was very good at pointing out problems, explaining what might be needed to correct them, and answering numerous questions we asked. He was very prompt. He did a very thorough inspection of my home. He provided me with an almost instant electronic report and followed up with a printed report highlighting the areas for pre-warranty expiration. The previous reports that I had read on Angie’s List were all very favorable. I absolutely conquered with everything that was already written on the website. He was extremely professional and punctual. The price was exactly what I expected. I would use him again in the future.

Lou did a great job. Showed up before the scheduled time to start the exterior inspection, thoroughly inspected the interior and exterior including the attic and garage. Tested mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Used infrared to check elements within the walls. Overall he did a very good job, gave some great recommendations and suggestions, and was very responsive and helpful with any questions I had.

We are in the process of buying a rather large home, hence the higher price, so don't let this deter you. Mr. Prinzi is owner / operator and does all his own work. Using his infrared monitor he was able to determine leaks in the roof where causing the stains on the ceiling and a minimal repair would be needed to correct the problem. This helped relieve our fears about continuing with the purchase as it was a foreclosure and we did not want to walk into a money pit to start off with. He found several minor issues and educated us on how to correct them inexpensively (and before they became expensive issues). He was very patient, informative, and pleasant to work with. If you can schedule him, don't hesitate.

Went exceptionally well; very thorough report; extremely professional; very detailed; explained entire process to me.

Only thing I didn't like is that he didn't go up on the roof. He just looked at it from the ground. He was early, professional, patient, very nice. He taught me a few things and was willing to share his knowledge.

Lou provided an incredibly detailed home inspection report. I was not able to be present for the inspection, but his report told me everything I needed to know. I couldn't have been happier w/ the service, and his attention to detail was very impressive.

Lou was awesome. I really learned a lot about the house and homes and construction in general from him -especially when it comes to workmanship and building codes. I ended up walking away from the deal, but Lou is at the top of my list for the next time I need a home inspection. One tip ?complete the WDO (wood destroying organisms) inspection before your home inspection.

Lou was at work when I arrived and performed a thorough house inspection. He answered all my questions. He gave me insights that will be helpful for maintaining the house. We went over the entire house together. His report was well laid out and comprehensive.
