Terrible, There was a disagreement within the company as to brand for parts that were needed. Constant confusion and very poor communication from Bill Fenwick Plumbing. I called the owner over a week before I finally called back to check on status. . I have someone call me to to tell me that 'the supplier mixed of the order again, so that they would have to reorder. Seldom do you see an owner as passive as this. Terrible service and an F. Expense was from service call only.
Description of Work: I planned to purchase and had Bill Fenwick install new parts for a shower and a tub. The only money that was spent was for the first call to determine what was needed.

Yes, you are correct!!!. That was terrible service. Once in a while we have a service call go sour, and unfortunately, this is one of them. I am mailing you a check back for the $50.00 you paid, and an extra $50.00 back for the inconvenience. I apologize for the problems. Once, you cool off, I hope you give us another chance on your next service call for us to make things right. Bill Fenwick

Plumbing had been neglected for a long time and various issues came up. There were a lot of things to do, with many parts being needed. Because of that, several trips by plumber were needed to complete the task. Fenwick did a great job of coordinating all of this stuff, and at a reasonable price. We got quotes from other plumbers that were only a bit lower (maybe 10% lower), and when the first plumber didnt even show up, we decided to go with the one with the best reputation. I will definitely use Fenwick in the future - on time, courteous and stuck with quoted price even after the job was more difficult that expected.

I came home and I had some water leaking from my refrigerator. It turned out to be the water line that fed the icemaker and water dispenser. I called them up and in less than an hour I had somebody at my house to repair the damaged water line. They cleaned the area after they were done. They just fixed it quickly, identified the problem quickly and the pieces that they had to replace were included in the price of the visit. It was really inexpensive.

I appreciated them calling me and keeping me informed as to when to expect the plumber to arrive. Travis was punctual, professional and did an excellent job. Although he ran into some problems in the beginning (his tool broke while trying to get out the shower cartridge), he was able to quickly get another one and did not charge me for the time away for meeting the shop people for the tool. He replaced the shower cartridge and I have had no dripping since! I am a satisfied and happy customer. Thank you, Travis! Additionally, I was thankful that they offered a 10% off coupon to Angie's List Members which I used for the repair. The cost would have been almost $300 without the coupon. That was a substantial savings!
Description of Work: This was the second time I have used them because of the excellent service they provide. The same plumber replaced a water shut off valve on the outside of my house in October. I called this month to have them repair my dripping faucet in my walk-in tiled shower.

He was so slow and knew he was charging per hour. That's Probably why he took so long. Anyway it's been only two months and now my shower is leaking again. Most companies offer a quality guarantee on their work but this awful company only gives 30 day guarentee. How do I know if they even put in a new valve. For all I know they put a used one and thts why it broke again. I could have replaced the entire shower for what they charge. Don't use this company ever. It's a scam. Awful!
Description of Work: I had a leaky valve replaced in my master shower on 9/26. I also had the silver on the outside house replaced which is a $5 to $10 part. I was charged $315 (outrageously over priced) since it took the guy so long to do the work.

Response from Fenwick Home Services
I am so sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your experience, but I did want to comment on a few of your remarks. We consider a 30 day guarantee to be a fair length of time for our customers. Typically we find that if an issue was unresolved by our technician, or is directly related to something we did, that issue arises again within 30 days. At that point we are happy to come back out at no charge to the customer. When we are called about the issue over 2 months later, any number of things could have happened between the time of our service call and then, so we consider 30 days to be a "sweet spot" and a fair amount of time for our customers. We rarely receive complaints about this, so I am very sorry if it is not satisfactory to you. We really do try our best to try to be fair to our customers! Concerning your new valve, we do not use used parts. Ever. All of the parts that we supply and install are new. We aren't in the business of re-using old parts. That does not benefit us or our customers. I looked at your service call and you were given a service window of 9:30-12:30. The technician arrived at 9:38, so we were punctual and arrived well within our time frame. This is extremely important to us as we do not want to waste your time. If you ever feel like a service call went too long or you do not agree with the price, we always welcome that conversation. We appreciate all feedback from our customers; even the bad stuff! Unfortunately I did not receive a call from you about the time spent working or the price. I would still be happy to go over your invoice with you if you feel like anything on the invoice was unfair. If you would like to discuss your invoice, please call (904) 724-7022 and ask to be connected with me directly. I would love to hear more about your service call and how we could do it better next time! We are always trying to find new ways to improve the "Golden Plunger Service" we are known for. Thank you, Trey Fenwick, General Manager

Had a leak in my kitchen, called several plumbers, they were the first to agree to come same day. Arrived quickly and were able to determine it was not a slab leak as suspected but rather an HVAC condensation leak. Overall they made a very stressful situation more manageable. My only complaint is they partner with a water mitigation company who they will dispatch to the scene for clean up. That particular company was very pushy and was not as pleasurable to work with. Fenwick would be better off not referring this company.

Originally I was using another company who had a great rating on Angie's List, only to discover their repairs were temporary as the same work needed to be done less than 6 months later. This happened several times. I called to talk to the owner about this and he would never return my calls nor did the office manager. Finally they gave me a quote but their quote included "if this works" and would need to break up the tile floor. I contacted Bill Fenwick and boy do I wish I would have contacted them first! Not only was their quote $620.00 less, they found a way to not break up the floor. Christopher M. (who works in the field) called me at the end of the day to tell me exactly what he had done and was coming back the next day to finish up some things. Tiffany, who answers the phone, was always pleasant when I called, and working with Kyleigh and Allie made the process so much easier. There were many days I came home from work to find a message from them letting me know what what going on. Don't waste time and money calling anyone else like I did - just go with Bill Fenwick Plumbing. You won't be sorry.

They came out to give is a price on installing another water heater in our home. After arriving they told us about a new product to boost the current hot water across the distance of the house. We were very pleased with them. They always called when they were supposed, they were extremely friendly and cautious of making a mess. When they finished everything was perfect and no mess to clean up. They are by far the best contractor we have dealt with since moving here.

Jim, the plumber, removed old Moen bath faucet. He and his assistant installed new Moen faucet. Did a very professional job and cleaned area when finished. I had spent weeks with Moen customer service people to try to diagnose and repair old faucet. Moen people were great but I eventually called Fenwick plumbing to remove and replace. Bath faucet is in very seldom used 2nd floor bath so I was concerned about my ability to do the work and not create a leak! Used 10% Angie's list coupon.

Timely arrival. Technician talked down to you and loud. Overall just an average experience. Leak was stopped however value still does not shut off properly. I felt that the technician wasn't listening to me sort of knew the problem and fix. His solution to the valve not shutting off properly was to turn value completely off then move knob back until water stopped. Sounds like too much work to me. Didn't have part on truck to fix so rescheduled for next day. Received call Saturday that wrong part was ordered so would have to push back later into next week. Just decided to cut my losses and flee. Cost to replace 2 seats and springs seemed very high considering the parts only cost 99 cents. Probably will not use again in the future.

They were called to investigate a potential "slab leak". They determined (much to our relief) it was not a leak of water pipes. Instead it was due to condensate overflow from the HVAC system. He took time to explain the implications of the water leakage under the tile floor. He called a restoration services company to come out and address the damage. While we were happy with the service and price we were not happy with the restoration company. That is the topic of a separate review. Not sure of the relationship that exists between the two companies. They did NOT honor the 10% off Angie's list coupon. They stated no "plumbing work" was done. We don't completely agree.. We did not challenge their interpretation but believe the coupon exclusions should be specifically stated.. Should we need plumbing work done in the future, we would not hesitate to call them.

I called them to repair a slab leak, they told me it would be $725 - total. I asked if they do the leak detection and they said yes, so I scheduled the appointment. They showed up, looked at the floor and told me they need to have a leak detection company to come out and they were going to call them for me. They then billed me $79 and left. Then I called the leak detection company to see what their charge is, they tell me $325 on top of the other charges. So I declined to have them do any work. I feel ripped off - why would they even show up if they needed a separate company before any work could be done?! -------------------- UPDATE 4/8/16: The owner called me and in addition, wrote his response explaining the situation. As a business owner myself, I realize we cannot always control how employees handle situations. I revised my review rating because of the way the owner went above and beyond to correct the problem. Thank you.

Response from Fenwick Home Services
Sorry Sir, this one was not handled correctly. Broken water pipes under the slab can be very tricky and make sounds that keep the technicians from pinpointing the leaks with perfect accuracy. Nothing is worse than cutting a hole in any floor, especially a wood floor, tile floor, or some floor that is not patchable, only to find that the leak was over a couple feet and the hole could have been hidden in a closet or under a cabinet. We should have hooked our equipment up and determined where the leak was first. If the leak was in a section that the floor was able to be gone through without much damage, then fix the leak. If the leak was found to be under your hardwood floor, we would then have given the options for second opinions or repiping the house, which is what will inevitably have to be done.. We do not recommend cutting holes in hardwood floor mainly due to the expensive of repair, unless water has already damaged the floor, and it is going to have to be taken up anyway. I think we jumped to a conclusion to quickly and I apologize. Sorry for the mess up, my technician is new with Bill Fenwick Plumbing and unfortunately, did not check with his manager to be sure it was being handled correctly. I will be mailing you a refund check for the $79.00 charge. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

I noticed a water coming up between my front porch slab and the kitchen exterior wall. The plumbers came out on Wednesday and determined that there was crack in the cast iron pipe and a clog in the line which was causing the waste water to backup and leak through the crack in the pipe. This in turn caused the water to bubble up between the wall and the porch slab. Luckily no leak inside of the house. The first crew had difficulty clearing the line and actually snapped their cable. They said that another guy would come out the next morning to look at the situation. The next morning the second crew came out as scheduled. The lead plumber inspected the where the front clean out was and started working on snaking out the drain lines. Once the drain lines were clear the water stopped coming up between the wall and slab. Next project will be to have the pipe repaired, but this will be a larger project as the pipe is in the concrete block and under my kitchen cabinets. For the meantime, this temporary solution is working out well. Both teams were very professional and explained everything they were doing. Will definitely call them again.
Description of Work: Determined the cause of a leaked between the exterior wall and front porch slab, slow draining kitchen sink, and cleared lines to the septic tank.
