I contacted a landscaping company called The Dream Team for a simple inspection of my residential sprinkler system. They sent a chain-smoking, unkempt, all around foul young man to examine, and possibly service, my residential sprinkler system. The service person showed up over an hour late with no explanation whatsoever, then proceeded to smoke many cigarettes throughout the time he was on my property "working". He was there well beyond the first hour (which was included in the cost of the service call). He indicated since it took him extra time, I would have to pay for additional hours of service. When I asked why I would have to pay for his cigarette break time, he got angry and demanded I pay for the entire time he was at my property, including all the time he took for cigarette breaks. I asked him to have a manager call me...the manager did, but proceeded to argue with me as well. When I refused to pay for the time they didn't work, the service person proceeded to beat on my front door loudly, as if he were trying to force a confrontation with me. He left after ten minutes of this horrible behavior, then as an after-thought he stopped his truck, made his way to my sprinkler valve box and as I watched through my window, he BROKE a valve head completely off one of the valves, then drove away! I was very close to filing a police report, but decided since they knew my address and situation (single woman living alone), I'd better not anger them further. Additionally, his older model vehicle leaked oil onto my clean driveway. My advice: Stay away from the self-proclaimed "Dream Team" as they were truly a NIGHTMARE for this customer!

Don came out and wrote up an estimate that was fair and reasonable. I found him years ago at my old house when I originally hired him to install a french drain. When he came to install the drain, he found a leak in the main pipe and charged me $100 bucks. I had previously hired plumbers to find a leak and they didn't. Don could have charged me hundreds of dollars for a french drain but he was honest and fixed my leak. Fast forward up to now. He installed a 10 zone irrigation system on my 2.5 acres. He and his helper worked in the hottest part of the day and finished the job on time and in budget. He is very honest and hard working. The system still works great. I would use him for any landscaping work.

Don O'Brien is a very nice, down to earth guy. He came out to do an estimate for me in February of 2013 and I contacted him back in June to agree to have the work done. The estimate he originally gave me (for 1500 sq feet) in February was roughly the same as the quote he gave me in late June.. a small fluctuation due to the price of SOD increasing due to the season. He was relatively quick in responses to my emails and worked with me on timeframes (I work full time). The work they did was EXCELLENT! A 3 many crew (including Don) came out at 8am as promised. Their methods were a bit unconventional (I thought) as they used Don's pick up truck and a pull along rope to literally rip the landscaping out of the ground. It did the trick! There was some issues with the machine they use to remove the dead lawn so there were some delays while Don attempted to fix the machine. A few stops and starts.. then they were off to the races. Two of the crew stayed on while Don dissappeared for a few hours (I assume to visit other potential customers) and then the two remaning took a reasonable lunch break. When they came back, Don returned and after he did some inspecting and gave some orders for corrections here and there, the sod started going down. After the job was done, we tested the sprinkler system and found that indeed, there was damage somewhere to the sprinkler line. Don the the rescue again... he walked all over the new grass until he found th soggy spot, lifted up the new stuff and found the problem and fixed it. Very pleased with the work they did... I paid in cash and Don didn't have change on him so I told him to keep it and take care of me if anythign happened in the future. So, here is why I would not hire them again. A few weeks after the work was completed my sprinkler system stopped working. I called Don and he agreed to come out (while I was at work) and take a look at it for me. Turns out... the last time I cleaned the filter on the pump I had left a valve turned off. My mistake, and my ignorance. I thanked Don for his time and we hung up. When I got home there was a bill in my garage... FOR $70 DOLLARS! I guess the generous tip I gave them wasn't enough to waive the fee for 10 minutes and a valve check. So much for "taking care of me".

They arrived and were very professional and prompt, he traced down the problem with zone 1 and 2 and repaired the connector. The repairman tested the sprinkler system and everything works good. I would definetly call them again

Customer was quoted a reasonable price for the service call over the telephone ($67.50 for the first hour),however when serviceman arrived (3 HOURS LATE) for the job, after much delay (serviceman smoked several cigarettes and also made a few calls on his cell phone while customer waited) serviceman told customer she had to pay $97.50 for the service call,PLUS the cost of the parts. Customer contacted the supervisor/owner and the owner reluctantly agreed to reduce the service charge to what was quoted over the phone at the time the appt was made. Serviceman got very angry w/customer & repeatedly rang customer's doorbell(this went on for 30 minutes). When serviceman was finally leaving property, he deliberately tampered w/sprinkler box & customer discovered later that system was no longer operable.When customer contacted co.owner to ask them to return to repair the sprinkler box, owner refused unless customer agreed to pay $97.50 for 2nd service call! Beware of the ''Dream Team''!
