Several issues arose during the job. Bob Davidson addressed the issues and did not increase the original quote.

Bob was great! This is a rental property and I needed the work done, prior to having a tenant move in. He was able to schedule the work and get it done quickly! I was also amazed. I thought the entire sidewalk was going to have to be replaced. His crew was able to cutout the problem area and just pour that section. Saved me lots of $$$.

Four pours used to repair - one so acutely angled both ends have broken off with normal residential traffic, a second discolored because contractor failed to have adequate supply of cement product on truck and returned at later date to complete job. Two cuts were made in my irrigation system which runs parallel to driveway. There seems to have been no planning or supervision of this simple project. Despite calls, no effort has been made to repair/replace. Mr Davidson is extremely rude on the phone and is prone to hanging up when confronted.

It was a great experience! It looks great and makes our yard much more usable. We love the way it looks. Bob and his team were courteous and very professional. Perfect!

It went well. It was a three day job, with the breakup of the old concrete driveway and the form setup for the driveway and garden pad taking place on the first day. Some roots were removed from under the old driveway and the ground was leveled. The second day was a fine adjustment of the forms using a laser leveling device. Additional ground leveling was done and the concrete pouring began. The pour was finished and the top surface of the driveway was given a nice textured finish with what they call a "window pane" design: The border edge all around is given a very smooth finish which is about six inches in width and the center surface is given a slightly textured "combing". The third day was actually only a half day of form removal, cleanup and using a diamond saw to cut a good number of expansion joints in the surface. All-in-all it went well and the driveway looks excellent for being plain concrete.

To make a long story short, IT DIDN'T GO AS EXPECTED! I received three different estimates from three different contractors. Two contractors recommended by friends and the third was recommended by Angie's List. My decision was based off the reviews and recommendations from Angie's List. I have to say, I was deeply disappointed in my selection! Here is my on-going saga: I had hired Mr. Davidson and his crew to lay new pavement along side my home. On the day they were pouring the concrete I had noticed dark spots in the concrete, which I already knew what the spots were, dirt! I mentioned the dirt to the guys overseeing the project and was told, "don't worry about them, they'll come out when the concrete dries". I knew better as well but, I was also told, "we'll take care of any problems or concerns you have." The problems that developed are numerous holes (pitting), from the dirt, that washed out of the new concrete during rain storms. The pitting is anywhere from 1/2" to 6" in diameter, throughout the slab, approximately 70' x 17'. I have been trying to get Concrete Works to come, evaluate, and resolve this issue ever since." I am a patient person but, I believe a year is long enough to resolve any issues I have. The contractor wants to simply put patches in the holes that developed, which would look absolutely terrible, let alone not last due to the cold fusion joints, that would simply breakout of the holes that already exist. Mr. Davison stated he didn't want to use his insurance because he had before, and it was quite painful for him! I am looking at this from a common sense perspective, would you pay $5000 for a new driveway that looks 5 years old? My opinion, I paid premium dollars for a driveway and got a very, very, poor product, it's time to file with your insurance and settle up! I cannot consciously recommend a company that does not stand behind their work. I could get into all the back and forth we have had over the poor workmanship but, that would take more room than I have to express my disappointment. For those of you that have had good luck, great, I hope everything continues to provide the use as intended. My product doesn't cut the mustard for me. I do contract oversight for a living for the Government, turning away larger products that don't meet the Governments expectation or acceptance. I am now relying on Angie's List for resolution to my problem, with their guarantee they now provide. Angie's List, I look forward to hearing from you. V/R, Mark Penrod

I met with Bob D who after looking at my driveway and determining what type of materials it consisted of advised my that my driveway was in good shape and that sealing it would not prolong the life at all, which was my main reason for wanting the driveway sealed. Bob further stated that he would be happy to give me an estimate to seal the driveway but in his opinion I would be wasting my money and advised against it. It would have been quite easy for Bob to have simply given me an estimate, hoping that I would hire Concrete Works to do job for me so I can't say enough about his honesty and integrity. Bob actually got up earlier than usual that morning to drive to my house from the other side of town before going to his first job site to fit looking at my driveway into his busy schedule. It was refreshing to find a contractor these days that would take the time to explain in detail why you would be wasting you money to perform a requested service. Based on my positive experience with Bob in addition to all of the positive reviews I found on their quality of work during my research, I would highly recommend Concrete Works.

Great job done. Staff was considerate, professional and did a great job from start to finish. Wife and I were greatly impressed by work and how thy cleaned up.

Bob and his team were very professional. Bob visited our home twice to confirm and verify work desired. Team showed on time, in uniform, and completed the driveway to our specifications. We appreciated the extra attention to detail fixing the existing cracked walkway and moving irrigation pipes and sprinkler heads. Thank you. Follow up to previous posting. I called requesting additional control joints to be cut since we had 88 feet extension poured. Employee showed up and cut 2 additional control joints but did not ring the door bell or let me know he had arrived. The joints were not cut in the location I wanted. I asked for more joints but employee didn't want to and talked me out of cutting more even though he was already at my home with the equipment. We have a 14 foot section with no control joint. Driveway cracked 12 days after the concrete was poured. I called the owner who informed me that the driveway was NOT guaranteed against cracking!

Concrete Works did an excellent job. They were very neat, professional and courteous. They answered any questions that I had. They did a fantastic job of cleaning up after themselves. They even spread the dirt that they dug up around in certain areas on my request. I am very satisfied with the work that has done and have even received several remarks on the driveway and sidewalks. I still have their sign in my yard I'm hoping that will help to draw customers for them. I'd recommend their services to anyone.

We called several providers that were unresponsive so we expected a delayed quotation initially, but Bob was very prompt in returning our call and getting a day scheduled to look at our extension project. The extension we wanted was to meet up with an existing pad of concrete previously used to park a camper trailer. They arrived first thing in the morning - I would have preferred a confirmation call since it had been delayed due to rain for a couple of weeks, but it was no big deal. I just moved our 2 vehicles and opened our gate and they got started right away. There had been a cable line that was unmarked that was severed by accident, so to make sure it was fixed, Bob made sure that they installed a conduit to allow for the cable to be rerun without having to interfere with the new concrete and not allow it to be exposed as it had been before. Overall the concrete was well done and tidy when they finished. It has not cracked and it has met our needs. Thank you!

They constructed a quality product at a good price. Bob was very helpful during the process of getting an estimate and a permit. Unfortunately he can be difficult to speak with. If you have to keep a schedule, he may not tell you what his is. He likes to say "I don't care" a lot. Also, he flat out told us he didn't want our future business. We paid quickly and were very flexible with our schedules. My opinion is that if you don't know EXACTLY what you want, do not rely on these guys to give advice. My complaints are about customer service. The concrete slab so far seems to be excellent.

Bob was very responsive and oversaw the project. He was frequently on site while the work was being done. He accommodated some last minute changes and even fixed our cable wire that was inadvertently severed. All agreed-upon work was preformed and left the job site very clean.

Concrete Works gave me an estimate that was very fair competitive compared to other quotes I received for the project. After committing to them, I was placed on their schedule. Due to rain, it was almost 4 weeks from the time I gave them the go ahead, until the work was started. Once they arrived on day 1 I have Bob the owner a deposit and work was begun. He was involved throughout and all of his workers were professional. They showed up on time every day and were self sufficient. It was a 3 day project and once complete, all work was performed as agreed upon and they cleaned up the worksite and materials to my satisfaction. I would recommend them to others and would use them again if needed for another project.

I found this company on Angie's List. When called, Mr Davidson responded promptly. There was a monyh delay from time of estimate to actually having the work done. The day of the install, I was very impressed with the professionalism and coordination of the entire crew. The finished driveway was all I could have hoped for. I have received compliments from neighbors and other construction professionals on the appearance and construction of the driveway. I highly recommend this company.

At the beginning of February, I started shopping around for concrete contractors to repour my driveway. Concrete Works made and missed one appointment for an estimate, but my husband let them reschedule. He liked them when he met them, and they came with all sorts of references and even an Angie's List Super Service Award for 2013. They had the lowest bid and we accepted it. They told me that we would be put into their rotation and we should expect the work done in 4 to 6 weeks (by mid-March). Fine. Mid-March rolls around, and I haven't heard anything from them. I call and am told that the weather has put them behind, but they'll get to me soon. I ask if it will be done by Easter, and am assured that's no problem. Fine. The next day, the other partner calls me and acts like he has no idea that Bob & I spoke the day before. Funny, that's what they said when they missed that first appointment. I should have seen the pattern developing. I call again around Easter, when there is no sign of work happening, and am told, yet again that it's not their fault, it's the rain, etc... I remind them that my husband will be home from overseas soon, and they need to have it done by the time he gets back. No kidding. Stop the excuses. Do the work, please and thank you. Again, I'm told it's just the rain and they'll be over soon. My husband got home last week and surprise! Same old driveway. So HE calls them. This time they give him the weather excuse and a few other excuses and eventually admit they forgot about us. Apparently I was too polite or something when I called because we "fell through the cracks". They assured him they'd start work next week. A week later they finally called to say they'd be over on Tuesday. The forecast for Tuesday (today)? Rain. Clearly they'll melt if touched by the evil water from the sky, so we told them not to bother. I don't know how they stay in business if they simply cannot function if it's damp in Florida. I'm angry they were so unprofessional from the start. I'm REALLY angry that they lied to me but "manned up" to my husband. And I'm angry I wasted months waiting for a contractor who had no intention of fulfill his contract.

Bob, the owner, is prompt and precise. He showed up on the day I called to provide an estimate for the job. However, I spent two more weeks to investigate all of my options. Once Bob committed to the job, everything is planned as schedule. His assistant David did a wonderful job to communicate with me about the changing weather and their plan. His crews are very polite and professional. Completed the job as I expected. Because I need to split this job into two separate steps so I can have the fence company come over to install the posts in between the demolition and pouring of concrete. Bob and his associates showed up on the job site every step of the way to check the progress of his crews and communicate with me. He is always on top of the situation. I will recommend Bob and his services without any hesitation.

Start and completion dates as discussed was right on time. All personel involved was polite and very professional. Outstanding job, love the new driveway.

We were looking to add on to our patio and get a slab poured for a shed. Inquired through an email to Concrete Works Bob Davidson(owner) responded the next day. I was not able to follow up with him for a couple of days, ended up reaching him late Thursday evening, we talked about what we were wanting and he scheduled an appointment for Saturday morning. Bob and his associate David were right on time, looked at what we wanted to do offered some suggestions (which we followed) gave us the quote. We decided to go ahead with the job. Bob said he would check his schedule and let me know as soon as he was available. Bob called Tuesday of the following week saying they could come Wednesday. They were right on time and did a Excellent job!!! I cannot say enough good things they were very professional and very courteous. Even moved a small tree for us that we forgot to move. Would not hesitate to recommend Bob and team. The patio lookS great the picture framing around the edge really topped it off.. We look forward to enjoying our new patio for years to come.. They were reliable and came when they said they would. They gave us an estimate before they completed the job. We were very happy with the work. It looks nice. We would recommend him to others as he was recommended to us by a friend.

Bob Davidson, the owner of Concrete Works, showed up promptly as arranged. He is professional and knowledgeable. The job went as scheduled. Saint Johns County threw us a curved ball so we had to wait for the permit for the footers. The crew showed promptly every day! Worked diligently and cleaned up every day after themselves. They removed the old concrete driveway - the containers people showed promptly (2 pulls in the same day!) and hauled away all the debris. They prepared the ground, removed old sod and installed "crushcrete" and levelled it all. The pavers were delivered on time and the paver crew showed up on time and went to work! They Installed driveway, pathway and 90% of patio. When the Permit arrived a few days later Bob's crew came back dug the hole for the footers and laid the form boards and rebar. The concrete people arrived the next day promptly and poured the concrete. The crew did what they has to do and then the paver crew came back and completed the patio. We then added the front entrance way step and rear step to the job. Bob did not even protest he took it in stride. Sent his crew to get the addl pavers and had the pavers crew do the addl work. My new driveway, pathway, patio and front portico look Spectacular! Bob Davidson's Concrete Works is a dream to work with - everything went smoothly. The subs were all prompt and everything went smoothly. What most comes to mind with respect to Concrete Works is "ClockWork"!!! If only everything in life worked this well! We will most definitely recommend Concrete works and will absolutely use them in the future.

The end result is exactly what we expected. The project start-date was delayed because of rain, but we knew that was likely to happen. Once the work began, the job was completed within the time frame that we originally discussed with Bob, the owner of the company. Weeks later we discovered a couple of areas of s*** resulting from the pours that we wanted removed. Bob came promptly to look over the areas, and had his crew come and eliminate the s*** within the time period we discussed. Bob is very professional and down to business. The work his crew performs is excellent. We would not hesitate to recommend him or use his services gain.

Workers were professional. Owner was very prompt to respond to telephone calls and came out when we had a concern that turned out to not be a problem. There was some overspray of concrete on to our neighbors fence and the company sent someone out right away to clean it up.

With the headache we've had with our contractor, it was a relief to find a business in the construction field that was honest and straight forward. We would certainly be giving them a call for any future need. We appreciate their help.
