Poor performance. I hired Brandon Pest Control to treat weeds and fertilize my lawn since December 2018. However, my lawn is getting worse and not any better than If i did it on my own. Weeds are still remained and growing after three month treatment and finally grass are turning brown or dead. After talking to them, they turned the table around and telling for not doing my job on treating weeds in my garden. Next, after they killed my grass, they again, telling me for not watering my lawn enough. This company breaches the contract and based on law, the contact is void. However, they demand me to pay the remaining balance for a lousy job done. It is a joke. Be aware!

Their work is fine. Their back office is another story. I have used this outfit and have generally found them effective. However, I had a disturbing incident today in connection with renewal of renewal of some annual type services. On 1/22/17 I telephoned and made appointments for annual termite inspection and pest control treatment with an operator who identified herself as Brittany. On 1/23/17 I received an automated telephone call demanding I call back and schedule these services. I let this pass. On 1/24/17 I got a second Robo-Call from this number with the same admonitory message. That was enough. I hate this kind of stuff. I took the time to telephone the number from which the Robotic call originated and the phone was answered by this same Brittany. I identified myself and asked that she remove my number from that automated outcall device, pointing out that in the first place I did not need to schedule any appointments, this had been done already and, in fact, done by her and in the second, that this is abusive and that if it were to continue I would find another provider for pest control. Instead of , "Yes, sir" I got a peremptory apology followed by a lecture on how these calls are "an automated process" and that she could do nothing about them etc. I sought to find out with whom I ought to be speaking to remedy this situation but she refused to give me the name of the person who could solve my problem, just saying she would pass it on etc. I am deeply perturbed by this treatment, more in line with something you'd get from a large medical practice rather than a business in a competitive environment. This is not the first time I've had trouble with Brandon due to its relatively large size. I already pulled them off quarterly pest control visits due to a similar situation. Next year they may well get yanked off the termite bond. I hope and trust this message may serve as a caution. My annual bill runs $570. I bet I can find another provider if they can't resolve this issue.

Last Fall, in October 2015 we sprayed and killed all of the existing weeds in our lawn, and hired Brandon's Pest Control in Jacksonville, FL. They said we had good healthy soil, as it was dark, rich, and full of nice long earth worms. In late February, early March 2016 we removed all of the dead weeds (had no existing live weeds and several months of pre and post emergence treatments under the belt). We tilled the soil, mass plugged the front and side yard (amongst the existing healthy grass, checker-board style), and totally re-sodded 3/4 of the back yard. With regular and proper watering the grass quickly grew and looked healthy and lush for the first two months. The grass plugs, along with the existing grass, filled in so quickly even the neighbors exclaimed in awe. In early May we noticed the weeds were coming in strong (this after several months of treatments of pre and post emergence and herbicide??), and we began pulling them out by the hundreds every weekend. At this same time, the new sod started turning brown and dying, beginning in one corner or another, and quickly began to spread, as well as, some of the plugs. Around this same time we noticed a very healthy mole-cricket, and wondered how could that be since we had a service. We immediately called Brandon's, whom had supposedly treated the lawn just the month before. They came out, said they had refrained from spraying chemicals on the new grass thus far, until was well established. They then sprayed herbicide and pesticides. Day by day the weeds (broad leafed and others) never seemed to suffer, but continued to come in healthier then ever, all the while, the new St. Augustine grass was dying..... even the older well established grass was suffering in some areas. A few weeks later I was shocked to see the amount of grass that had died, and the tremendous amount of weeds that came up in it's place. Now, far too many to pull. In early June, we again called Brandon's to come evaluate. Said sprayed more chemicals. Grass continued, and continues to die. We continue to water properly. The weeds continue to thrive. By mid-June half the back yard was dead, most or all of the plugs were dead, and more of the existing grass was suffering. Brandon's said they did nothing wrong, and questioned our watering habits. We assured them we watered regularly, at the right amount, and at the right hour of the day. Also, at this point, we were receiving a good amount of spring showers. We then asked Brandon's to give us a report as to the exact treatments performed thus far, as well as, the amounts of each chemical applied. They have yet to provide us with this information, and should be able to especially if they spray everyone's yard the same. It's worth mentioning an exact 2 foot strip of lawn between us and our neighbor's lawn, which had been healthy for years, became so noticeably damaged from the chemicals the neighbor asked us to quit using our lawn service in that area. Wouldn't this be a dead give-away? We called 5 other lawn companies to evaluate our damaged lawn. Said too much chemical damage, combined with major pest damage, and the damage could not be reversed (apparently the pests ate up the lawn, and then the over-treatment of chemicals did further damage. Too much and too late?). Also, each company said we'll need to completely start over by killing all of the weeds, etc, or peel it all up and re-Sod. Hearing this news was incredibly frustrating after having gone through many weekend hours of hard labor killing the weeds, tilling the soil, removing the weeds, acquiring the sod (we picked up on several trips), cutting the sod into plugs, planting each plug, laying the sod, faithful watering of the sod, etc..... not to mention the expense of the sod, and the expense of the monthly lawn service payments. All for naught. After speaking with the supervisor, Brandon's refused to make it right. Said they had done nothing wrong, and said will not ask the owner to speak with us. A few days later, after we commented on their face book page, the owner was notified of the issue. The supervisor was instructed to reimburse us for the monthly fee we paid to them, approx. a few hundred dollars, but only if we sign a legally binding contract to not complain to certain companies ie; better business bureau, etc.... After much thought, we have refused to sign the contract. This company should do the right thing, and fix our lawn. If Brandon Pest Control does find it in their heart to offer us fair resolution, we will be willing to post that information as well.

I cancelled my service with this company after having been with them for over 5 years. Apparently they do not mind taking your money each month but when it comes time to correct a problem they are no longer interested. Our lawn in the front and back of our house had a small area that was bare, I called Brandon, they came out and treated for cinch bugs. The areas grew larger...I called again...had an appointment and no one showed up. Called again asked for a supervisor, someone came out and treated the areas, they got became larger ..called again and someone else came out and treated with another product, by this time the areas were quite large then yesterday a supervisor came out and said too bad...we took care of our part, we killed the cinch bugs, and you just may need to water more; now mind you our past summer was a monsoon with rain almost every single day and we had those bare areas then too. They refuse to do anything more for us even though they have been paid to maintain our lawn for us for years. This is terrible customer service and I truly had expected more from this company. What a huge disappointment that companies do not care about their paying and loyal customers any longer. The amount of damage to our lawn should never have gotten to the point that it did if they were doing their jobs properly as we had paid them to do.

Hired them for lawn pest control in April. By October a large portion of my lawn had died. I talked with the tech who came to service my lawn in Oct. He said the cause was chinch bugs. I could not understand that as chinch bugs are easily controlled. He could not tell me why my lawn had not been treated properly as this was the first time he had treated it, but he agreed that it should not have happened. I asked what he was going to do about it. I knew he could not really do anything for me. What I wanted was for them to sod the dead area and I knew he was not going to do that. I called their office and told them of my situation. They basically said it was my fault because I had not called and told them what was happening sooner. My point was that is what their service man was supposed to do. The lady finally asked what could she do to make me happy. I told her I wanted the area sodded. She said she would send somebody out to look at it. Chris came out a week later. He agreed that chinch bugs was the cause of the grass dying. He then checked my irrigation system and determined the problem was my fault because I was not watering enough. The fact it has rained a couple of times a week all summer did not make any difference to him. Also the fact that their service man had not correctly treated the chinch bug problem was irrelevant. In other words he was there to justify their poor service and shift the blame to the customer. I guess that was supposed to make me feel better. I took care of my lawn myself for the past 14 years and never had a problem like this. Now I turn it over to a "professional" and I have a major problem I have to fix. Highly recommend you use one of the many other lawn care services.

I had a someone come to my house to give me an estimate for pest control service. The young man was very pushy and insisted that there was NO contract and I could cancel at any time for ANY reason. I finally agreed, just to get this guy out of my house. He had me sign some forms on a tablet and told me it was just to give them the ok to spray the house and lawn and that he would bring me a copy of the form I signed the following morning. Hind sight 20/20, I should have carefully read the form! So the following morning came and went and no one ever showed up. After several phone calls to the company, someone was sent out to my house, but still didn't have the form I signed. Fast forward a couple months, the customer service was horrible and there was a major lack of communication in that place. I decided I had enough and I wanted to cancel my pest control service. I was told I signed a year contract and I couldn't cancel. I told the rude woman at the office that the young man that came to my house assured me I could cancel at anytime, and as far as the said contract, I don't recall signing one, but then again I am not sure what I signed because I was never given the forms as promised. I ended up getting a $250 bill in the mail for cancelling the "contract" and they called and harassed me for a solid year after. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. I have since found a new pest control company that is very professional and treats their customers great!

Work accomplished as scheduled. The only difficulty was the tech did not do a very good job of returning the sod around the foundation to better condition. I did call them, and they sent the tech back, but I was in the middle of a family holiday event and took the techs word all was fixed. The ground around one side of the house was not properly tamped down the way it should/could have been. I should have checked more closely when he came back to fix it. Good Work - on time, but check closely how well they replace torn up dirt around foundation.

We called Brandon because our new home already had termite protection arranged by the builder and because it got decent reviews on Angie's List. The sales rep came right out and we signed up for a quartely house service and monthly lawn service. The sales rep sprayed the inside of the house that day. Another rep came out a couple of days later and did the lawn. We had to pay $219 for the initial start-up but are now paying $59 per month for the house and yard. We have a 2,000 sq. ft. house and they noted the lawn size at 3,000. The sales rep said not to freak out if we see some activity for about a week after the initial spraying. We have not seen pests in the house generally with two exceptions. The kind that fly in when you open the doors, and we saw a fairly large scorpion in the garage right by the door to the house on Saturday after the spraying. I called Brandon and the only suggestion they had was to stay away from the area until they could send someone out on the following Friday. The woman promised to get someone out earlier if possible, but waiting almost a full week before we could access the cars through that doorway was not an option. My husband killed it with a large shoe despite it putting up a fight. We saw another smaller scorpion in the office of the house a few days later and killed that one, too. Nothing more yet to report on unusual activity. That is the reason I gave them a B on responsiveness.

I use Brandon for bug service, even though they are a little higher than other companies. I am using them for termites. The part I don't like is they will come for free and take care of the problem. However, if there is any damage from the termites they will not fix the damage where other companies would. As far as their yard service, I would not recommend.

Tech was nice but mislead us in what cost be. We only wanted a one time service he wrote up contract and said we wanted it when we didn't. When office called to set next date we told them this and they sent us bill for $300 cancellation fee on something we never wanted. The office lady was rude and said we had to pay. this company is a cheat and liars they will add charge to your bill cause techs get paid commission. This is a price oriented sales company that only worried about making money and don't care how they do it. I would warn anyone to never use their service they will try rip you off terrible company on all aspects

This member called our company and signed a standard 12-month agreement for a pest control. After only a few months, and only paying one of her four payments for the 12-month period, she wanted to cancel. However, as she signed the agreement and services were rendered, she was asked to pay the remainder of her payments for the year, which was nearly $300 – this was not a cancellation fee, but rather the balance on her agreement for the services that she contracted and signed for. We have performed everything we said we would do and abided by our end of he agreement.

We've been using Brandon Pest Control for the past 4 years. In Year 2, the weeds in our sod in the back yard were so thick that we had to pay more than $1300 to have to side yard re-sodded. In each year that we've used them, I have had to supplement their services by spreading my own weed and feed on the lawn and spraying pest control on our shrubs. The problem that we have with their technicians is that they stay all of 10 minutes or so - for all the work they are supposed to be doing- pest control, fertilization, and weed care of the (1/2 acre) lawn plus the same alleged care of our shrubs and palms When we have called to complain, we are told that the technician was planning (all along) to come back in 2 weeks for a follow-up. (We are re-evaluating whether to change pest control companies. My Husband (who works out of town) just recently found out about my battles with the weeds despite his paying the $115 every six weeks for Brandon's services: I have become disabled and unable to augment their work. He is also working closer to home, and has seen first hand how quickly the technicians come and go (i.e. the 10 minute "services" by the technicians referenced above.) Brandon has recently changed to an annoying manner/poor customer service for scheduling lawn service. Brandon now has an automated call that announces (unilaterally and after business hours) that the technician will be servicing your yard the next day. There is no human being scheduling service whom you can tell it's an inconvenient day and/or ask if the service will be in the morning or afternoon. On the plus side, we do not have fleas and ticks in our yard. (We have 2 dogs). Moreover, the spray that Brandon uses does seem to keep the snakes away.

This member had many issues since the start of our service. First of all they stopped service in the first 6 months due to personal reasons. They then came back to us and now there were more issues in the lawn than what we originally started with. Due to personal reasons by the member certain lawn care issues that needed to be done on their part were not performed such as watering the lawn regularly. This caused many of the issues that she listed. When were informed of the short duration of the technician, we sent a tech out for a re-service at no charge to re-inspect and treat again. Since that time we have never had a call from the member regarding treatment time. All of our vehicles are GPS tracked to insure proper time on each lawn. During the service period we went above and beyond the agreement to accommodate their treating day requirements and personal needs. The member rescheduled our set appointment times often which also contributed to lawn issues. Every time this member called, Brandon Pest Control technicians responded quickly and did everything possible on their end, within their services, to help. We have extensive phone hours with live customer service representatives that are available to handle your calls M-F 8 am to 6 pm and Sat 8 am to 4 pm. In addition we have an answering service that you can leave a message after hours. Our automated service was added to let customers know what day we would be out. This was just a courtesy that we added to improve the customer experience. As a courtesy we even performed free fire ant service to help them out during their time of need.

i had contacted this company after another company did a very poor job treating my yard for two years. The tech was very knowledgeable and helpful. The only problem I had was response to my inquiries and in some cases not calling ahead . I had some weed problems which they retreated.and overall a good experience for the 15 months. I only started using a lawn service after many years of doing it myself and honesty most do a fair to poor job of lawn care. but this company did help me restore my yard which I appreciate.

We've been a client of Brandon Pest Control since March of 2000. We built our house at the end of 1998. At that time, the builder had another pest control company perform the termite treatment.. We were never particularly impressed with that company (over-priced for what they did), and we renewed only once. When we started looking for a new company, we went with Brandon, based largely on the commercials touting their termite-sniffing dog. At time, a very professional tech came out with their dog. The tech showed some live termites in a container or two, hid them in a couple of different cabinets, and then brought the dog in. The dog quickly found the the sample termites. The tech and the dog proceeded to search our house, both inside and outside. They gave us a clean bill of health before installing the Sentricon system. We stayed with Brandon and their Sentricon system for the next few years. When the termite insecticide Termador came on the market, Brandon was one of the few area companies that were allowed to perform treatments (before the product's availability to the general pest control industry). We've stayed with Brandon, partly because of their termite protection bond and partly to their service. The reporting date was the date of our last annual inspection. In addition to a mail advisory, their front office gave us a courtesy reminder. Scheduling an appointment was easy, and the tech showed up on time. Their techs have always been friendly and have always answered any questions. Definitely a customer service-oriented company.

The service tech was very informative and friendly. He took the time to explain the treatment and what I should expect. The tech has even called to let me know he thought it might have rained after he treated last time and he would be back soon to check the yard again.
