Beautiful Blooms Landscaping

After receiving other bids, we just had a good feeling about Dan's design and proposal, although he was not the cheapest bid we received. We are so glad that we ultimately chose Dan and could not be more happy with the final result. He was very easy to work with and took an extremely professional approach (which we appreciated). His crew was professional as well and was very meticulous with their work. Also, I highly recommend the landscape lighting which we initially had not considered until Dan recommended it for the front of our house (not the cheap/low quality stuff from Home Depot or Lowes, by the way). It turned out way better than I expected. Also, my wife is pretty picky and knowledgeable about "her" garden and flower beds - so to get it right for her, they must be good at what they do. I'm sure you can find cheaper landscape companies out there, but if you want the job done professionally and meticulously, you will not be disappointed if you choose Dan and his crew. We are certainly glad we did.

Dan provided me a good and timely estimate and we were able to agree on the scope of the project fairly quickly. We were scheduled within a few weeks (despite it being the middle of spring season), and the entire project was done expertly and within 2.5 days.

Dan was able to come out fairly quickly after I purchased the deal. He came out to look around and discuss plans. He spent at least forty-five minutes at my residence. He did say that he was pretty backed up and it would be about six weeks before he could get us the plans. However, it has been almost two months and I have not yet received the plans.

I am another very satisfied Beautiful Blooms customer. I bought the Angie's List Deal for a Landscape Design. Dan came out and listened to all of my needs and thoughts about the yard. He explained up front how busy he was and gave me a realistic timeline for when he would have the design completed - which I appreciated very much. He kept me updated and finished my design earlier than expected. He met with me and presented the plan, it was clear he had put a lot of thought into it and he absolutely nailed it. He made a design that fit with the other homes in my area (a Historic Preservation District) and he used lots of hearty plants and natives. He used color, texture and shape to compliment our home. At our request, he provided us with a quote. It was very detailed and included all of the plants he would use, their prices and all of the other extras I asked for including irrigation, resetting a brick walkway and adding a fence. He even included the cost of dumpsters, stump grinding, etc. I am happy to say, his estimate was right on. There were no surprises during the project and the final cost was almost exactly the amount he quoted. Dan and his crew, lead by Gary, were professional and thorough. Dan checked in with me multiple times during the process to see if I had any questions or concerns. And Gary would knock on the door at the end of each day and update me on what they had done and were doing next. Our flower beds were very overgrown and infested with weeds. The Beautiful Blooms crew was extremely thorough and really dug out all the beds. It was amazing to see beautiful black soil, instead of a tangle of weeds. They planted all of the new plants and installed pine bark mulch. They also did an excellent job planting three new trees and prepping and laying down new sod in troubled areas of the yard. For the irrigation portion, Gary was able to find and utilize the existing pipe from the old, broken system. He installed all new sprinkler heads, installed a backflow, installed a new controller, tested it all and showed me how to use the system. He was able to get full coverage of my yard and the beds. It was quite a feat. The crew did a great job of installing the fence as well. It was in a difficult area that was full of roots and small saplings (creeping over from the neighbor's yard) but they made it happen. They even worked around a giant old tree stump. The fence looks even all the way down and covers the neighbor's chain link and old stump, it creates a wonderful finished look to our side yard. Dan also had the great idea to plant creeping fig at the bottom so it can climb up the fence. So to make a long story short, we had a wonderful experience with Beautiful Blooms. We have nothing but good things to say about them. They were professional, thorough and completed the project on time. It was a big investment for us, but we feel like we really got our money's worth. Their work is so professional, we also decided to have them maintain our yard. We love our new yard and so do our neighbors.

Dan laid out his expectations for the job and gave us a timeline for the project. His crew was extremely professional and respectful. They not only did what they said they were going to do, but went above and beyond. The job took approximately 4 days and they cleaned up at the end of every day. The design that Dan gave us really brought out the natural beauty our lush setting had to offer. The design was very well balanced and had just the right amount of color. The transformation exceeded our expectations and we would be happy highly recommend Dan and his company to anyone .

I purchased a Big Deal for $75 landscaping design and consultation with $150 credit. I wanted the driveway shaded and he gave me some ideas for some trees to be planted. I just decided not to go through with the planting as of now. He was very helpful and courteous.

THE IMPORTANT PART: We decided to go with Dan and Beautiful Bloom because of his composure, expertise, and professionalism. From our initial meeting through our final walk through, communication was excellent. Dan felt like a friend through the process and not some hired contractor. He allowed us to express all the desires we wanted and they followed through. The foreman (I believe, Greg) was also very thorough; everyday when I arrived home, he would explain exactly what work was done and what was next. He took ownership of the yard through the process and we were impressed with that. The extra step that was not requested but shows their attention to service - they installed all the necessary wiring for landscape lighting in the future. They informed me how to install if I wanted or to come back to them if we wanted to enlist them to continue the work. They did not have to go the extra mile but they did at every turn. It was worth extending our budget to get the lawn we wanted. We saw a sign for Beautiful Blooms in a neighboring yard and were impressed with the overall job they did, especially the landscape lighting. One of our major home improvement goals was to update the very mature and dated landscape that was part of our home. We began the research process to find a few names here on Angie's list and was happy to see the overall reviews of Beautiful Blooms especially since we had seen the finished product. After meeting with a few companies, we decided to go with Dan based on his overall scope of work he was able to offer. Dan's plan also included a few flower bed designs to bring the landscape features away from the main sections we intended to replace. Our home had a lot of mature azaleas and some worn out shrub beds. Dan and his crew were able to remove ALL of the existing beds and created new beds with a new layout in the yard. One of the items that stood out was they integrated an irrigation update to the plan to make sure the new plants would stay healthy and keeping the existing irrigation separated for the lawn. They irrigation update included a channel that went into a planter box that is attached to our home. We intended to wait add a concrete patio paver as our initial budget was for only replacing the landscape. When we met with Dan, he asked what we would like to do and when he put together the plan, we began to seriously consider moving forward, even though it was slightly above our intended budget for both projects. Dan showed us work he had performed and after a walk through the home and patio show, we were convinced to move forward. The demolition work included the removal of two concrete sidewalks and the installation of a patio with walk way. The other sidewalk was covered with grass (at our request) and they were able to change the shrub plan to create a natural shrub fence. Dan gave us options of what to consider with the paver selection and once we were able to make a decision, they moved to get the order submitted. During the middle of the installation, we asked about fencing, as this would be the final stage of our landscape update. Dan was able to give us an estimate, talked with us regarding the installation process and offered to stain the fence. We elected to move forward when we knew that all of the work would be completed by one crew that was already taking excellent care of the yard. Dan also talked about his monthly lawn service which was a tad more than I was planning but for the work they did on my yard and the detail of the yard service I am very pleased and will employ them.

I used Beautiful Blooms to landscape my yard. I got mixed results. It looked good for the most part, but I had to replace many plants because I received some bad plants. I was initially very pleased with the work this company did, but it has gotten worse and worse over the last year. In December, I was charged for work that wasn't even done. When I complained about receiving a bill for that month, Steve, the so-called supervisor, "fired" me as a client. I tried to work it out, but he wasn't interested.

Excellent job! Dan and his crew were courteous, clean and professional and always willing to answer all my questions. They arrived on time and did an outstanding job. At the end of each day they meticulously cleaned up. My yard is beautiful. I am thrilled with the results and will recommend him to everyone I can.

Dan was on time and was very patient with all of our questions. He was very conscientious and a second visit to get a better feel for the site and what we were looking for. At this time we were looking for only the design/drawing and he did a great job!

It was early December when I asked Dan to come out & talk about my landscape. I asked for a design plan with patio & retaining wall, privacy fencing, & separate areas for shed, firepit & fountain. I also needed several trees removed. He was familiar with HOA architectural reviews & asked when I needed the plan. I told him as long as I had it by the 1st of the year so I could catch the next HOA meeting I would be happy. He told me it would be ready just after Christmas. I emailed him my survey plan that day so he could use it for his measurements. I had to call him & ask what had happened because he evidently forgot me. He promised the design plan after Jan 1st. When I got the plan all he had done was include a patio on my original survey I had emailed. No mention of fencing, firepit, shed or fountain. The estimate was $7500 for the patio and tree removal. I had already had the trees removed by that time, including 1 large tree he hadn't included in his estimate for $50 less than his tree removal fee. I was totally disappointed in his work, from the missed deadline to the careless design plan with the missing elements. While he was professional to talk with I'm just glad I didn't contract with him for the job.

He was very easy to work with and I liked his work. He was willing to do whatever I wanted or what pleased me. I thought the price was good.

They came as scheduled but I asked them to reschedule to a later date. I will be calling them soon.

Before I write this review I wanted to give my background information first. I work for a well respected service company in Northeast Florida and have seen Dan and his teams work multiple times. After I contacted another company who charged me for an estimate I decided to call Dan to see if could finally get my yard looking nice again. The previous owners had installed a worthless irrigation system and Dan said he would need to bring somebody in to help him out out this one. (By this point I was already nervous about forking over $2,200.00 just for the irrigation system). After we decided we were in fact going to use Dan's service he contacted me through e-mail to get the date set up which did have to be moved due to holidays and issues getting material. Irrigation: Let me just start out by saying Dan did one of the best jobs I've ever seen in the irrigation world. Not only did he navigate a complex system of pipes he put in good quality parts and re used existing material to save on money. He dug all the trenches by hand (which most contractors use machines that simply don't bury the piping deep enough) and also built "shelves" for the sprinklers to sit on. Landscaping: Let me tell you Dan knows his business and understands the product. I have been in the business several years and this was backed by several other sources outside of his company. He set the expectation all the plants we decided to use and even told me what to expect and how to prevent the plants from dying. I will give one word of warning; for someone who doesn't have knowledge in industry I would recommend doing thorough research on how to maintain turf grass during colder months so you don't fungus etc... Price: The final invoice was higher than initially quoted but Dan contacted me and told me (in the estimate as well) where the additional cost came in and why. I am okay with this because he contacted me and seen what I wanted to do before he proceeded with the work. Overall, I am happy with the work that was done and the foreman Gary was very knowledge and understands his business. He even showed me how to resolve a drainage problem and how to do it properly for a fair price. One thing I will credit Dan's business for is he buys the plants at an affordable place, makes every attempt to save you the customer money ( and this was proven on several occasions by reusing PVC pipe, having me kill the grass myself, etc ). Everyone on the crew was professional which is rare in the landscaping world as most landscapers aren't licensed and often have very little knowledge on the industry. I will be recommend him to neighbors, family, and my clients in the future. Also, I think the labor rate he charged was in fact a fair price. He had a three person crew on my property and every time I seen them they were actively working and did a lot of the work by hand (which saves in additional costs).

I went to Angie's list to find an recommendation for landscaping. I got three estimates. I liked the fact that Beautiful Blooms had quite a few excellent reviews. At the end of August I had hired another company to replace my lawn with new sod. It looked great but in three weeks it had died and I had just spend $3800 for the sod. Neither the source or the landscaper would help me so I had lost $3800. I did report them to Better Buiness Bureau and also Angie's list so I was going to be very cautious. Dan came out and look my yard over and suggested trimming trees and bushes to let more sunlight in. He also suggested putting mulch on the south side instead of grass. He also suggested a dumpster and a tractor to remove sod and dispose of it. I did receive an estimate the following day by e-mail. I reviewed the three estimates and decided that Beautiful Blooms would take care of me. They arrived on time and preceded to trim and the trees and bushes. It took a day to remove the sod and the next day the sod arrived and they worked hard and hardly took any breaks. The men set the sprinkler system and I felt Dan and his team were taking care of me. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. They are very professional .

Dan was very responsive and we reviewed plant selections. Initially I was reluctant to remove some holly bushes as he recommended, but once the other plants were in, he was right and the overgrown holly bushes were moved, and it looks much better. His team worked constantly and got everything done in a little over a day including all old plants removed. It looks beautiful. I will be using him for lawn and landscape maintenance going forward.

The owner came to my house at the appointed time and was very pleasant. I had to wait a long time for him to come back and actually survey the garden and present an estimate. The price of the estimate was very high as far as labor was concerned.

Dan runs a top-notch landscaping service. I have nothing but good to say about him and his company.

I could not have been happier with all aspects. Timing and scheduling was precise. the men worked in the rain and did little extras to make the job perfect. I would call this company again without hesitation and would recommend them highly. I love my new courtyard!

The initial visit was very thorough. He listened well and actually made suggestions before providing me with the overall plan. He was very professional and friendly.

I have only gotten a quote for the work to be done but they appear to be very knowledgeable and have been very responsive. They are leveling my road (dirt road) today and putting down crushed concrete. This is phase one. They are then going to put down sprinkler systems in my front yard and my lot next door. They are also going to sod my front yard. May just seed the lot next door since it is so large. This will all be done in phases. Check back in a couple of months. Linda Shirley The road has been completed. They did an excellent job. I have had the well pump installed, the well house built and electricity run to the pump and well house. Electric was done by Crown Enterprise (Derek Reese) and they did an excellent job. The next project for Beautiful Blooms is to remove all grass and weeds in the yard, put in a new sprinkler system and then sod and mulch the yard. I'll keep you posted.

Hasn't gone yet and i purchased this offer at the end of August.

They were easy to work with, tried to please you. Did what ever you wanted to do. They were pleasant people.
