This company performed a refinishing of a tub on 3/22/2022 for my elderly parents. They offered a one-year warranty and were contacted by my mother by phone and email within that one-year period with some of the attached pictures. Despite claiming they called my parents, they have been unable to provide any proof of attempts to contact. Rather, I have email documentation that shows my mother called the company on March 6, 2023, emailed the company March 7, 2023, and again on November 28, 2023,until she finally received an email from Kellie Valle on November 29, 2023, with an estimate for $297 to repair the shoddy work. This was and is a warrantable issue. The Company did not respond to my parents until the one-year warranty period expired and is now trying to collect money to fix a problem they created. All I am asking on behalf of my parents is for the company to repair their defective work under the warranty they provided and they have refused.
Description of Work: Guest bathroom tub refinish that chipped and peeled within the one-year warranty. When I tried to get them to be reasonable and work with us, their response was "I'm sorry that you do not understand warranties when they don't go your way you get upset and will write a bad review. Be sure you do not put a false review, or you will leave us no choice but to take further action through other means." Please think twice before using this company. I just wish my parents had read some of the other reviews before they hired Bath Tub Man.

I would not recommend this company to do any job. They glazed a bathtub for me and a few years after the job, the tub began to peel. They came out and repaired it, however it began to peel in another area. After they came out to repair that problem, they refused to do any additional repairs on the tub. This company doesn't stand behind their product and maybe their product is not a quality product.
Description of Work: I wanted a pink bathtub glazed to white. At that time they never stated it would be a problem., After numerous calls to repair the tub, the owner stated that they should not have done a pink tub.

Bath Tub Man returned our initial call, later confirmed the appointment, called just before he arrived, explained his plan, left informative paperwork including a guarantee, and was totally pleasant to have in the house. The bath tub looks better than when the builder put it in. We have two tubs in the house and this one tub was never right until now.
Description of Work: We needed our bathtub to be stripped and resurfaced. A previous company had resurfaced the tub and seven months later it was bubbling and peeling. We could not contact that company.

I had the bath tub refinished in the beginning of March. I immediately noticed it didn't turn out well, and I called the office to let them know. I was told to call back on Monday after it had dried. I called back on Monday and they offered to redo it in about three weeks! I had them return a few weeks later and was told they were going to refinish the entire tub again. It again turned out terrible, and worse than the first time. I called them and told them I wanted my mkney refunded, and the refused at first and then said if they removed the finish they would refund the money. I had another company scheduled to refinish the tub, and didn't want to be left with an unusable tub/shower. I explained that to them and they still wouldn't refind my money. I had to call my credit card money and dispute the charge, and then they were willing to refund the money.

I am disappointed in their finish work. Disappointed in they way they left my condo. They did not bother to clean up the fine fine dust all over my condo and the company never told me I would have the dust everywhere. I spoke with the owner the following day and she said they would come back to correct the drip marks in seven days. She would not have someone come back to clean until 7 days. I told her this is a rental property and I could not show this condo to anyone in this condition . If I had a tenant, I would have to put them in a hotel for a couple of days. Also, she said it would cost to much money for them to come back to just clean my condo. Where is the customer service? If I was the owner of this company, I would clean the unit myself. Oh well, like I said where is the customer service?

It was very easy to schedule the appointment and the woman who took my call was courteous. The team painted two older tubs white. They began in the morning and were finished soon after noon. Please note that I wrote that the tubs were painted, not refinished. I have had tubs refinished before and they have looked like brand new porcelain, so I know this can be done -- and was done 25 years ago. However, the difference in the quality of the work then, by a company whose owner retired, and this job was shocking. Besides having a tub refinished, I have also had furniture refinished. Refinished furniture looks new, with a smooth finish. I have also had furniture painted. Painted furniture looks much less smooth. My tubs now look as if they were painted -- covered with a thick layer of material, with rough spots like orange peel in many places. In no way do they resemble porcelain. In two bathrooms with porcelain tile, they are a visual horror. The tubs also are unpleasant to touch. They have a "clammy'' feel, not the slick smoothness one expects of a bath tub. Furthermore, the instructions left for care of the new surface stipulated no use of bath mats. Since I am older and have some problems with balance, I am uneasy standing in a tub with no mat. No mention was made of this restriction on their site of when I spoke with the secretary. My previous refinishing job had no restrictions on use of anything on or in the tubs, so I did no know to ask. This was a huge disappointment to me after spending several years renovating an older home that now looks very nice, with the exception of the eyesores in the baths. I'm thankful I didn't have the guest bath "refinished"! But if you like the look and feel of painted furniture or bath tubs -- and don't need a mat -- this is the company for you. I should also add that I did not contact this company about my disappointment, because I have learned during this lengthy renovation process that if someone can't do a job right the first time, they are not going to do it differently a second time -- if they are even willing to try. UPDATE: I am changing my original rating of "D" to "F". I have not used the tubs yet, since I have not moved in. However, I did soak a Rubbermaid bin with a smooth, rounded bottom in it -- nothing sharp at all -- and the paint has peeled off in a 2"x1" area. If it can't handle a smooth plastic bin, I am not looking forward to what will happen if I drop a bottle of shampoo or conditioner. Perhaps the management of the company has changed since the earlier positive reviews were posted. At any rate, I want to warn other Angie's List members about this company and its product.

I had them glaze my old beige roman tub. Initially everything appeared to go well. THe lady working in the office was very nice and accommodating. They came out to provide an estimate and my mother met them for me. The man stated they could also reglaze my tiles, but my mother explained that I was having the tiles replaced and only needed the tub done. Here is where I should have noticed the first red flag, because they sent me an estimate for reglazing the tub and tiles. I called and told them I only needed the tub done and they said no problem. I then changed my mind about the color and called about 1 or 2 days before they were scheduled for the job and the lady on the phone was very nice and said it would not be a problem, but a custom color would delay the project while they had the color mixed, which I understood. She was so nice that she even stopped by my house to pick up the paint sample for the color. They arrived on the new scheduled date and completed the tub, but were unable to do the caulking (I had a coupon from Angie's list for free caulking) due to the paint needing to dry and the worker said he was too short to reach across and do it without damaging the paint (to me the color was a perfect match for what I requested, but the paint appeared thin, there was a large strip going up my tile where they taped it off, and there were small bumps like they had painted in dirt or something). They said they would return to complete it. They did come back and do the caulking and here is where all of the horrible issues began! The guy did do the caulking and when I came home from work and looked at it, it looked like it was done by someone who had never caulked in their life as it was thick, rough, uneven, and just completely poorly done. I called and they did agree to send someone out to correct the issue. He arrived as scheduled and my mother met them again for me. He completed the job and told her it was finished and left. When I returned home, I was horrified! Not only did he scrape the bad caulk off, but he scraped the glaze off the tub, but he did recaulk even though the beige was visible all over the tub where he scraped it. A professional person, once realizing the color had been scraped off, would have simply told us that they would have to respray before caulking. Instead, he tried to pass it off as being corrected!!! Of course, I called them back again and the woman was very nice and said she would send someone else out. I told them to forget the caulk because it still wasn't done well and I just wanted the tub done. They did return and remove the caulk and resprayed the tub. I was thinking this time it would be completed right...wrong! They scratched the brand new drain insert, there is overspray on my brand new tile, and you can see where there was a run on the front and they took their hand and wiped it attempting to smooth it. I called again and just stated that there was overspry on my tile and mentioned the smudged run. The woman seems to have lost some of her patience with me at this point. She wasn't hateful or anything, but you could hear it in her voice. She said just wipe it off with a scrub pad. Remember this is brand new porcelain tile! I explained I didn't want to scratch the tile, so she said it will come right off with a little cleaner. I explained that I had already tried that and it didn't work. Oh and I forgot that the last time they resprayed they removed the screen out of my second story window and didn't even attempt to replace it. Back to the overspray. She then said to call back when I was ready (this was right before Christmas now) and they would come clean it. She didn't have a response about the smudge where they tried to smooth the run. At this point, I give up. This has been going on for a month and I am tired of dealing with retries, poor performance, attempts to cover up and pass off mistakes, not making attempts to replace my screen before leaving, etc... She tried to tell me they have never had these problems before, but I find that hard to believe since there were so many mistakes and errors! I wish I had spent the money to have the tub replaced. Due to other peoples errors on other parts of the room, I still haven't been able to use the tub, so I don't even know right now if the reglazing will even stay once the tub is used. I certainly hope that everything isn't a disaster and maybe at least the color will adhere! MY recommendation is just replace the tub and save yourself some heartache/headache etc. Never once did they attempt to compensate me for all of the time and errors or anything. I would never do this again!

Where do I start? First contact with the office staff was pleasant. She explained process and gave me a price. Scheduled the work. The gentlemen showed up on time. Masked off around the tub. Wrapped material around showerhead and tub facet to ensure no water drips. Explained the process. Set up fans to push for fumes out of the house. Second person stayed mostly outside mixing up the materials. He made a couple of small scratch repairs. Cost $20 extra. Work seemed to go well. They cleaned up. Told me to not use for 24 hours. Told him not a problem since that was not our primary bath. Everything from a distance looked good. Well -- two days later I went to remove the masking they had placed around the tub and walls and to replace the drain cover in the tub. When bending over I noticed dozens of what looked like popped blisters all over the that end of the tub and purple discoloration where repair had been made at the other end of the tub. The popped blisters covered an area at least 18 inches in diameter. I called the office and reported the problem. She said "that sounds like fisheyes" Seems it happens enough for them to have a word for it. She said it could not be fixed until after seven days because the refinishing spray material needed time to cure. She made an appointment about 10 days later for between 12 and 2 pm. Said my credit card would not be charged till I was happy. The original "technician" showed up about 4 pm. Said he was busy on another job. He said he did not know for sure what went wrong but had seen it before. He would have to sand the whole tub and re-spray. Did not have time to do it that day. Needed to reschedule. When the office lady called with a date and said between 12 and 2 pm I told them it must be before 2pm because I had to be somewhere later that day. If it wasn't before 2pm then I needed another day based on how long they young man said it would take to redo. I was assured it would be before 2pm. Well -- Guess what -- They showed up about 3:30pm. It was the person that had stayed outside during the original work. I was upset with them not showing up timely and let him know about it. He looked at the tub and immediately blamed me. He said I must had spilled water in the tub while the material was still wet. That did not set well. There is no way water got into the tub. It had not been used. The entire bathroom had not been used. The cover material they had placed on the faucet and showerhead had not gotten wet. I told them they might as well leave since there was not enough time to redo the spaying. Not a pleasant experience. I said I needed to talk to the owner. He said he was the owner. Turns out he is the owner's son. The office lady called to reschedule for another day. I demanded the first appointment of the day. One was not available for several days but I was willing to wait. We were still not using that bathroom. On the third recall visit the original, pleasant, professional young man showed up timely and sanded and re-sprayed the tub. Took a couple of hours. It looks good, nice and shiny. But I think the finish feels "soft" They immediately charged my credit card. I am done with this company. A would not recommend them. They were able to get there on time to first do the job and collect my money but did not give any priority to making good on their guaranteed work.

Arrived on time, to refinish a 113 year old tub using all the materials takes a lot of prep work and detail. I should know I'm certified and took the course a couple of years ago. The tub looks newly restored and now we are redecorating our bathroom. It took about 6 hours,I was given the required instructions and other advice of how to keep the tub and sink and what products to use and not to use. ,

I first called the Bath Tub Man from Angie's list and they returned my call the next day, and scheduled for the following Monday afternoon. The guy came in around 2 PM, and left around 4PM when it was all done. He taped off the fixtures and tiles around the tub to protect them. Our tub is a cast iron set-in tub that had many stains and the surface was no longer smooth. The new tub surface is excellent! Bright white, very smooth, with a textured non-slip bottom. The total was $199, which was a great deal, since I've seen resurfacing going for $250-300 elsewhere. You can tell that it is resurfaced and not brand new, but compared to what was there before, it's an excellent upgrade. The only problem we encountered is that not only does our bathroom not have a vent or window, but none of our windows in our house open (old 1927 wooden windows that over the years were painted shut). The resurfacing process gives off a lot of fumes. I had to leave fans running to push air out of the bathroom and then down our hallway and out the front door for a few hours just to make it bearable inside. The smell is like a nail salon, just stronger. Please note that the fumes issue is not something I hold them responsible for -- they told me that it was going to be a problem before we got started. Just be aware that if you do not have a vent or window in your bathroom or nearby windows that open, you will want to plan on spending the afternoon/evening in your back yard while the fumes vent out. All in all the company was very professional, great communication, the result is good quality, and I'm very happy with everything. They accept credit cards (but not American Express, which was disappointing) on site.

I called and was very pleased to have an actual person answer the telephone. Since they do refinishing and liners, I asked to be educated on both. The pros and cons of each was explained including the cost effectiveness of each based on usage in my household. I was impressed that they did not try to upsell me on a product that I did not need. This is a guest bathroom and does not get heavy use. The appointment was set for the next work day. The gentleman arrived at the agreed time and set right to work. My bathroom does not have a window that opens but he had everything he needed in his truck to adjust to the circumstance and provide ventilation. When he was finished, he carefully explained how to care for my "new" tub and the warrenty. He left no mess for me and was very polite and helpful with all of my questions. I was dreading the cost and mostly the mess of replacing the tub and I am so happy with the result of the simple refinish. This is a wonder company to do business with and I enthusiastically recommend them to anyone.

The job looks great - bathroom tile and tub are like new. Company management and workers were professional and very friendly. I got the sense that everyone there was honest, too. They had to come back once because they had forgotten to put the second coat on the back of the soapdish/handle and window sill, but that was very understandable. With everything so bright white, you didn't notice it until you ran your hand over the area. Note the phone number listed is wrong - the correct one is on their website.
