They came out Twice.... said they would give us a quote. Now won't even answer my calls.... still no quote.....Job to small? no time? out of business? Won"t waste any more of my time on this company....

If this is how they treat potential customers, how would they treat anyone silly enough to continue with them?
Description of Work: Called and talked to a very friendly lady, gave a brief description of the work I needed done and was told I would get a call back to set up an appointment. I called on a Monday and as of Saturday morning, never received a call back.

It went great. They were professional. They started when they said they would. They completed it when they said they would, in less than 2 weeks. They even worked thru the rain. I highly recommend them. I even had a little damage to a fence due to the excavator trying to get in. They replaced it , matching the existing fence perfectly. And they did it no questions asked at their expense. They used Marine grade lumber, thick pilings and tiebacks. . Most importantly the quality of their workmanship was top notch. That bulkhead will last at least 50 years. Everyone that I dealt with was amazing. Thank you Patti, Jack, Nick and Chris.
Description of Work: They built a 100' bulkhead along my pond using tie backs.

How did it go (proper English usage would me nice). I would go much better if "Angie's List" knew how to ask better questions. For instance, the first question should be: Where you contacted by the provider? Yes or No If "yes" please continue. Wow, wasn't that simple, Angie??? Cheers
Description of Work: Nothing. They never called back. I could understand if they weren't interested in the job, but a simple email or phone call would of been nice. Work still need to be done, but on one else on "Angie's List" called back either. Back to the yellow pages.

They are replacing our bulkhead. So far so good. Nick their job site manager is very professional. I shall follow up at the end to let you know things turned out. But for now I would give them an A grade. Thanks Patty, Jack and Nick.
Description of Work: As an Angie's List member I read about B&W Marine before contacting them. I was hesitant because of the reviews. But I had already contacted 2 other dock and bulkhead builders. 1st never answered the phone. The other came out twice and gave us a bid but was horrible at follow up so we hired B&W Marine. That said I contacted B&W Marine 1st by phone (nice chat w/Patty who suggested I stop in) then in person. I met Jack upon my visit. He had Patty set up an appt for the following week in July. I received his bid via email in 3 days. We discussed starting times...he said September. I thanked him for the bid and stated I needed to put it off until we returned from a long work assignment in August anyway. I contacted Jack again via email on August 23rd when I returned. He responded the same day answering my questions and attaching photos to help with my questions. He said to call Patty to set up another site visit. Patty called me that same day even before I had a chance to call her. She set up a time 3 days later that was convenient with my husbands busy work schedule. At that point (August 28th) we signed the contract and Jack said the start time would be 2 to 3 weeks. Exactly 2 wks later (September 11th) I received an email from Jack asking if he could bring his job site manager out today. He did. They explained they would be starting the following week on either Tue. or Wednesday. They started today Tuesday 9/15 as he stated. So far so good. I shall follow up

After the initial site visit we were told we would have an estimate within a few days. Have not heard a word back in about six weeks. With no follow up how do you stay in business?

The second call has not been returned as of April 3.Obviously, I am not interested in doing business with people like this and hope you are not either.
Description of Work: I called the provider on March 20 and left a message to call me about some dock work. The call was returned the next day and a message left to call Jack at a certain number. I returned the message within one hour and had to leave another message.

[member name removed] is mistaking when he claims that after he called us for a price, that we left a message for him to call our salesman. We ALWAYS take the perspective customers' information and pass it on to our GC who is our salesman to quote the perspective jobs. IF, after various communications with our salesman, AND the perspective customer requests our salesman's cell number, THEN, and ONLY THEN would we give out his number (to someone who asks for it). Also, we certainly would NEVER leave his number in a message to anyone. Personal communication is the only way we would conduct our business. [member name removed], we are sorry you didn't receive our salesman's prompt attention to quote your tiki hut and 30'-40' bulkhead. This is spring season (boating season) in north Florida, and all marine contractors are TERRIBLY busy quoting and beginning new job sites. We are in our busiest season, and we apologize for not getting to you fast enough for your liking. We have been in business for over 30 years, and some of our docks which we built 27 -29 years ago remain standing to this date, so we build better than many other marine contractors. We keep a licensed contractor overseeing our jobsites. We choose not to grow our business into having many crews, because our 2 licensed contractors have licenses to protect. Therefore, we run a tight ship, We do not hire lots of employees, just because it is busy season. We hire competent employees and keep them long term. In the 2008-2014 economy, our loyal customers, throughout the years, were who kept us in business. Our repeat customers kept calling us back for more work. We are EXTREMELY thankful to those customers who enjoyed our prior construction so much that they called us back for various other things to be built. As a matter of fact, both our licensed contractors are presently on repeat customers' jobsites today, and will be at each of them for a few weeks. Our salesman quotes around the times he spends running his crew. Therefore, he is very busy. Thank you to all to took their time to read our completely honest response.

They are one of the top ones in this area. They did a quality job all around. The construction was solid and the customer service was good. They did the job quickly and checked back to make sure we don’t need any repairs done. They did the job so well that we didn't have any problem with the dock.
