B&N APPLIANCE REPAIR

Owner came out promptly for appointment. Determined that ice maker needed to be replaced. He replaced the part and detailed the warranty information. He explained the broken part to my son. Ice maker now works.

He TOLD BN all of this on the phone when he booked the appt. I cant attest to the punctuation of BN because I wasnt home at the time of the appt. My husband can attest to the fact that he showed up, said the problem could be one of three things, could order the parts for 300-500$ and left and then billed us 78.00! What a ripoff!

After my last person no showed me the week before I made an appointment with B&N... Bob was on time and was very honest about fixing the problem... Told me it my last years or may last weeks... So i knew all my options before proceeding with the repair... He was also very honest in saying if this did not work it would not be worth fixing to just buy another one... Great guy, showed up on time, would use again with out hesitation.

I had problems with my ice maker. Wanted to use the company again but their phone was disconnected. They were very prompt, reasonable. I'm not sure if they are still in business but would use them again.

He arrived exactly on time and called before he came. He was very honest about the repairs needed on the dishwasher and the repairs that were NOT needed for the microwave. We did not have any repairs performed because we decided to replace the dishwasher instead.

The service person was very professional and punctual. He came and the problem was not with the dishwasher, but with us not doing the settings correctly. He diagnosed the problem and told us no repair was needed. He took the time to check out the appliance and noticed a broken filter. He ordered one and came out and replaced it (no charge for the second trip). All we knew was that the machine was not running, he could have told us anything and we would have believed it. However this man is honest and took care of the issue quickly and with minimal cost. I would recommend this company.

They were very punctual and knowledgable. They fixed the problem in nothing flat.

He completed the job in under 30 minutes from time of arrival. He had replacement parts on hand, which I was happy to see. He was also very friendly.

Bob has been to my home on several different occasions to either repair ,my dishwasher or my washing machine. He has always been on time and very professional. But I value his honesty the most! When the circuit board on my washing machine was going out, he advised that it may or may not fix the problem I was having. He also let me know that a new circuit board would cost more then the washer was actually worth at the the time. When my dishwasher finally failed, he gave me the same type of honest advice. Sure he could have made a quick buck, but it wouldn't have fixed my problem. It was nice to find that kind of old fashioned service in today's world.

He repaired my dishwasher. It actually wasn't broken it was just stuck...and he told me the truth. I respect that.

Because it was my primary fridge, Bob arranged to come by the day of my second call when I informed him that,after following his troubleshooting advice, the fridge and freezer were still not cooling. He arrived as promised and proceeded to diagnose the fridge. He found that the level of freon was not correct and suspected a slow leak. He added a valve and some special freon replacement for my 20 year old top-of-the-line fridge. Now the fridge, the freezer and ice maker all run great. Bob was very profesional and competent. He had on his truck the parts and supplies required. He was quick and efficient. I highly recommend calling B&N Appliance repair for problems with your refrigerator.

My freezer was not maintaining set temp. I had it set on zero, but the temp was 12 in the freezer. Bob answers his phone and returns calls. He worked on my freezer for about an hour and wasn't sure what was wrong. He didn't charge me and said lets give it a few days and see how it goes. We ended up putting a new mother board in that cost $329. After it was working about a week, I called and let him know all was well and then he sent me the bill.

OK, a bit pricey for less than an hour's work

when I went to pay the unitemized bill, he told me to throw away the $5.00 off coupon for service ($10.00 off a repair). i guess they don't honor the coupons. When i asked the service man what brand he would recommend, he said Whirlpool. I mentioned that Consumer Reports suggested a different brand, he said, "Just ignore them, they just mention those that pay them the most." If he was unfamiliar wh the magazine, he should just say so, not make a remark that I know was totally untrue.

Very prompt and courteous. Ice maker was replaced with a new unit which was also bad right out of the box. This unit was replaced with a second unit and now works perfectly.

Overall, good experience. Not sure I got the best price but I wasn't in a position to take off more time from work to entertain estimates. He was willing to offer suggestions on appliance care, which was appreciated.

I called this provider since they appeared to have high ratings on other reviews. He was very prompt, courteous. One thing that concerned me is that he did not offer any thing regarding how much it was going to cost (service charge amount) when I initially called. He called before he came and decided that it needed a couple of parts. He had to come back the next day to finish the job. What really bothers me is that after all was done I looked up the parts on a service parts web-site. For one part that was $18 I was charged $52 (almost triple) what the part actually costs. I realize that they have to make some profit but that seems excessive. For what the total cost was, I actually could have purchased another good used appliance. Now the dryer is actually starting to make slight squeaking noises again, after I spent all that money on it. It?s very slight compared to what it was, but it?s just irritating. It makes me think it?s just the start of going back to the way it was and they only offer 30 days on their labor as a warranty and now that?s already over with.

I called B&N based on the reviews here. Bob promptly returned my call and we were able to schedule an appointment right away. He came to the house, tested my oven to evaluate the problem. He determined the problem was not with the heating element but with the electronic control. He called his supplier to obtain a price for the parts needed for repair and then went over the repair options with me. He recommended replacing both the electronic control and the sensor since they work together but gave me the option to choose if I wanted to replace both or just the control. He quoted a price for the total repair, including the return visit, parts, labor & tax. I decided to repair (rather than replace) the oven. Bob ordered the parts and let me know he would call to schedule the repair work as soon as they were available. I asked if I needed to pay the service call fee that day and he told me no, that he would give me the bill when the work was done. He had the parts a couple of days later, we set up an appointment for the next day and the oven was fixed in short order. Bob was on time and professional and was a pleasure to work with. He explained what he was doing and offered me the original parts that he had replaced for the repair. I will definitely use B & N in the future for any needed appliance repairs.

Our refrigerator stopped cooling, and after completely defrosting it it would cool for a couple of days and then die again -- we wasted several hundred dollars on groceries before I finally found B & N on Angie's List. They were friendly and responsive, and were able to immediately diagnose the issue with the refrigerator (the heating element, I believe he said). They had a new one right in their truck, and they put it on right there. From start to finish, they were probably at our house for less than two hours, and the refrigerator has been running great since then (they saved us from having to buy a new refrigerator!). While they were there, I happened to mention that I needed to call someone about our broken garbage disposal, and they said, "Oh, we fix that, too." And they did -- in only about 5 minutes (10 if you add the time it took to go to the truck and get a plumbing tool). These guys were fantastic! UPDATE [3/6/2014]: It's been nearly a year, and the refrigerator is still working great! :-)
