GREAT experience. Please read my comments below.
Description of Work: We've used B&L on two occasions, both with absolutely fantastic results. They did landscaping work in the front yard including addressing grading issues near our foundation, adding 6" drainage pipe that directs all water from all gutter downspouts away from our house, creating a huge ground cover bed of jasmine, adding large two beds of camellias, adding liriope and doing xeroscaping in our densely shaded side yard. Their work is beautiful. We were so pleased with the front and side yard that we hired them recently to renovate the backyard. They did an extensive demolition of an overgrown backyard, hauled away a considerable amount of yard waste/debris, did grading work in the backyard, placed 47 azaleas, 5 gardenias, a St. Luke's plum, added a raised bed garden using Tremron Stonegate retaining wall stones, hauled in 12" of topsoil for the garden and then topped that with 6" of potting soil on top of that. They also added two beds of agapanthus, two beds of blue daze, added a stone walkway with pea gravel interposed between stones, transplanted 5 dwarf nandinas, created three sizable boulder gardens with existing large limestones leftover from a previous homeowner, placed pine straw around everything, and laid 2000 SF of sod. It looks UNBELIEVABLE! They reconfigured our irrigation system to accommodate the new landscaping, fixed broken and leaking heads, and added drip irrigation to our planters. They had leftover sod and used it to lay a grass pathway around the side yard and then, when they realized there was still a considerable amount of leftover sod, they asked us if there was anywhere else we'd like it to be laid. We had some overgrown shrubs on either side of our driveway and they didn't look attractive at all. So, they agreed to remove the shrubs and their rootballs and lay the sod. They laid about 600 SF of extra sod that day- all in the same day. It looks GREAT! Overall, we couldn't be more pleased with the results.

Initially they couldn't make it when I really needed them but that was my fault because I waited till late to do it in the Spring when they were right busy. They had trouble getting out here to my place quick because of too much rain and water. The quality of their work on the sprinkler system was absolutely excellent but there was a little bit of problem with the Sod. I rate them highly.
Description of Work: I have used B L Landscape Co to install a sprinkler system and a sod.

Buck came over and measured the yard for and quot;everywhere there wasn't grassand quot;. I should point out that I saw him measuring one of the boundaries down the line that I had showed him - this is later where the grass he laid down did not follow and was off by 3 feet. He provided me a rough estimate before he left that was reasonable. He said he could do the job within two weeks. After a couple corrections to the estimate, I gave Buck the go ahead and then it was a month later before he started (this is reasonsable during the summer months). This would not have normally been a big deal, but that took the job into May, which was a very dry month and cost me a lot more water. I came home on the day the job was started to find a few surprises; mainly that the agreed upon layout to what was cut out was not what I had showed Buck. I told the foreman about the layout changes; to which he told me part would not be covered. So I told him to go ahead with the additional sod. Much to my dismay when I came home the next day they had finished; the boundaries I had thought would be followed was not and that there was still more to do. That included; 1) sod that was cut out but not replanted, 2) sod that was not cut out or replanted and 3) areas that still had crab grass that wasn't touched. STILL, I was so pleased with what had been done that I envisioned Buck coming back to do more!!!! PROFESSIONALISM???????????? On the day of completion: Buck came up to pick up the last tractor while I was inside the house: I came out on the front porch admiring the water on the grass and all the now beautiful grass for about 5 minutes when I saw Buck sitting on the tractor grasping the steering wheel, leaning into to it; hoping that I would not see him. When he evidently saw that I had seen him: He then ask; well how do you like it? This had been after I had been on the porch for 5 minutes. To which I responded that they had done a good job; but I pointed out where they had messed up the boundaries and more . I am in a wheelchair, but the time it took me to close the front door and go open the garage door to talk to him again was seconds; still he was doing his best to try to escape. He told me that he would be back the next week. Buck NEVER contacted me again. Here is the great part: My son and a GREAT, GREAT neighbor rented another sod cutter, borrowed a trailor to deliver two new pallets of sod and put that all down one 95 degree Saturday. After an addtional many gallons of water, the grass looks good now. There was a large part of that that was never part of the original agreement, so I am okay with most of it. It is all about professionalism!!!!!!!!!!! Louise is obviously the reason this company exists, she is such a sweetheart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Description of Work: My yard was taken over by grab grass, so I needed most of my St. Augustine grass dug up and replaced. There were two flowerbeds that also needed dug up and replaced with mulch, flowers and a ligustrim. In addition, there were vines growing in one of my azaleas that needed pulled up.

We bought an old house in 2006 with a very large but uncared for lawn. I got the name of this company from someone at the zoo. Buck came over and drew up plans based on a concept my cousin (a landscape architect) designed, and gave us an estimate which was way over our budget, but he worked with me to go in phases and allow me to make changes to bring the cost down. We've been working with them for a year and a half. They not only helped us clear out the old, build a fence, install irrigation, and prepare beds, they also helped when we twice had tree problems after storms. My only complaint is that things moved very slowly. But when I finally got the 200 plants for the two beds, I couldn't believe the quality and the prices. We bought a lot, and had them do a lot of work, so they really gave us a good deal. The plants were all much bigger and healthier than anything I'd bought from a nursery myself, and yet cost much, much less. We got them right before TS Faye, but the plants were so hardy, nothing was damaged in the storm. I also asked them for some help with some fruit trees for my kids' school, and they very kindly gave us a fabulous deal and even delivered the trees to us. Again, they were lovely specimens and much, much larger than I had imagined. I couldn't be happier with the work.
Description of Work: Cleared old mess of overgrown yard. Built fence. Trimmed trees. Helped with storm-damaged trees (twice). Prepared beds. Planted large shrubs and trees. Moved large palms. Installed irrigation. Delivered 200 small shrubs.

I cannot say enough about the quality and dedication of this company. They ensured that the estimate they gave me was well within my idea, they came out exactly when they say they would, cleaned up extremely well after they finished and made my lawn look like paradise. I was particularly happy about the guarantee they gave me, which stated that they would come back and correct any issues I found however I didn t find any.
Description of Work: B & L completely re-landscaped my entire acre lawn. They did this by putting in new grass, planting many rose bushes, laying sod in the shaded areas around the sides, mulching, took out a huge philodendron, trimmed and re-shaped all my bushes surrounding the perimeter. They did this in a week and took all refuse with them.
