Provider dispatched James to my property and he arrived promptly, and was courteous. A tree, in the park in front of my home, had fallen on the power line, and set up a "domino effect!" The power pole in the park was snapped, and then the power feed pole to my home was snapped off at the ground. Replacement of the poles was the city's responsibility. James reworked the panel box where wires had been pulled from the circuit breakers, restapled the wire up the side of the two-story home, using conduit where necessary; the wire was threaded through a mounting device which made them ready for the city electricians to attach. This was all done in a fast an efficient manner way ahead of the time that the city electrical workers needed them. This mount was 24 feet high on the corner of the home. City electricians said the work was done correctly and there were no problems . The company vehicle had all the necessary equipment for the repair. The price was very reasonable.

they were very prompt. worked fast... everything went smooth... very courtious . I needed one outlet in the garage and an outlet on the back porch.. the one on the back porch i wanted to have its own breaker for christmas lights.. all went well can't wait to use them for Christmas lights and see how it goes.

They are a very fast working group! In about an hour and half everything was fixed. They also had equipment and supplies in their van. They also went inside the attic Area and checked my attic fan.

They were great to work with, professional and thorough. They were patient with our questions and with the chaos of other contractors who were here working to remedy the other issues that we are dealing with as a result of the lightning strike. I am pleased with their quality of work and would absolutely hire them again.

and no call.called the provider and asked for an estimate. I was told they do that over the phone which I found strange because how can you give a close estimate without seeing the house. I was told by the receptionist that someone would call us back in a few hours . Well that has been since Tuesday morning and no call.

They arrived on time, preformed their work and cleaned up after themselves when they were done.Josh kept me informed what he was doing during the job and I was very pleased with the service that I had contracted for.I would definitely use them again.

I have used this companies for about six years. They are terrific, both in house and outside electrical. They are very responsive, thorough and fairly priced. They leave nothing undone or unsafe.

They were excellent. They arrived exactly on time. Clay and Carl were very professional. They made sure everything was installed properly and made sure everything was done to my satisfaction. They went through all areas to ensure everything lines up so when I added the covers they would install properly. I could not be more satisfied with their work. They had a few touch up areas which the spackled. I will have it painted.

Excellent response time and knowlegable contact person to set up the appt Nd service call. Very efficient as I made contact through Angie's List and their followup phone call came in right away. They had to coordinate with the homeowner herself, set the work up for the next morning and the job was completed quickly and properly. Very pleased.

Did not deliver on a timely quote and did not quote what I'd asked for. Took repeated calls to the estimator to get 2 out of the 3 requested quotes (still have not received the 3rd quote) I would not recommend this company....

Our smoke alarm went off in the middle of the night for no apparent reason. American Electric was able to respond the next day and replaced it. We also had some electrical outlets that were loose and needed to be fixed. Their representative took extra time to make sure that the outlets were properly positioned. We were impressed with their attention to detail in the work they did.

Typically I'm a DIY'er but I know when there is a need to get a Pro. I was trying to raise the electrical boxes in my kitchen island because they were too close to the newly installed granite countertop. I was told it was no big deal to move the outlets after cutting the 2x4 just above them until I accidentally cut a wire that ran over the top of one of the outlet boxes. I used the Snapfix feature on the Angie's list app and got a response within a few minutes. I contacted the electrician I was linked to which was American Electrical Contracting. They had an electrician out to me the same day. Brian was very professional and went to work right away. I was so impressed that he had the wire I had accidentally cut and all five boxes moved up so the granite backsplash could be installed without further delay. He also took the $25 off for being an Angie's list customer. I would definitely hire again.

Simple fix but honest and fair

This was a very good experience for me. Gary the estimator was very through and professional. I requested changes after the initial estimate and he was prompt on making the adjustment. The electricians (Charles & Pat) were very polite and were willing to answer questions during the job. There were careful not to cause damage and cleaned up after the job. I recommend this company and will use them again.

Workmen [Paul & Jim] arrived early. Both were friendly, yet very professional. We walked them through the house and discussed all expected work items. They made us comfortable with all concerns we expressed, regarding the work items and the associated work areas [inside and outside the house]. Work was executed in a timely and professional manner. They were prepared to accomplish the work [knowledge, equipment, and parts]. Cleaned areas after work was completed

The installers (Paul and Jim) were great. They arrived on time, worked with my wife to figure out the best location for the lights and mapped out the locations before they drilled holes, did an efficient job, kept us informed, and used our vacuum to clean up afterwards. He even took the time to tell me how to convert my regular recessed lights to LED in the future. No complaints at all. I would use them again for any of our future needs.

A tough one because the initial job was not done as per specs and contract. I thought it much too expensive for what was done initially despite having used this company previously. I gave them a 2nd opportunity to re-visit their work and my concerns. John Ebreo discussed the issues and assured me he would make everything satisfactory. In fact he did just that. So while my initial review would have been less than current, the fact that the company stood behind its word and all was made right meant a lot. That trust deserves a proper recommendation.

So happy. I called for an appointment, and they were able to work me in that same day! The guys who showed up to do the work were efficient and courteous. Kept their contact information so I can be sure to use them in the future!

Chad and Carlos were on time and extremely professional. Chad explained what they were going to do throughout the process. There were no surprises with the price or final outcome. They even cleaned up after they were finished . It is nice to have the peace of mind knowing you are not going to be taken advantage of and that is priceless. Brian and Carl arrived at my home the day I called for service. They addressed my every concern, completed every project, made sure their mess was cleaned afterward and were very polite. Due to their promptness and professionalism I would highly recommend them.

They were scheduled to be there between 8:00 and 8:30 am. They arrived promptly at 8:15 after a courtesy call to let me know they were on the way. They were courteous, professional, and went out of their way to make sure they got it right. Lonnie and Josh were pleasant to deal with and we'll certainly use them again. Nice to know these kind of folks are out there.still. We couldn't be happier.

I have used American in the past and was satisfied, so I asked for an estimate on an upgrade on an historical duplex in Riverside. In a nutshell, they quoted a bunch of unnecessary work. They wanted to move JEA meters and relocate panels across the house. I got the work done for $2000 less, needless to say. They also caused me some hardship since I was facing having my insurance cancelled if the work was not done by a deadline set by the insurance company. The quote took a long time and my insurance was cancelled. I inquired about the quote and wanted to know why it could not be done more cheaply. I received no response. The less-expensive solution I ending up going with passed city inspection, so there was no issue with its appropriateness. American just over bid on unnecessary work.
