Response from American Electrical Contracting Inc
Thank you for the good review & bringing out an important point. Not only will our technicians tell you how to save money on service calls, our office personnel will also. One of the most frequent requests is, the outlets in my bathroom, kitchen or outside are not working. In many of those cases you may have a tripped GFCi outlet. These are the outlets that have a reset button. They are a safety devices used in the aforementioned locations. They are designed to trip at the first sign of danger. For example, the first sign of moisture will make them trip to save you from a potentially dangerous electrical shock in the bathroom. We frequently walk customers through the process of determining what the problem is over the phone. However, if after a few simple steps the problem is not resolved, we will dispatch a crew. We will not expose customers to danger or ask them to do something they are not comfortable doing. Keep in mind that electricity is dangerous and you are far better off having a licensed electrician work for you rather than trying to save money by taking care of something yourself or using that guy, in every neighborhood that knows everything. We are licensed & insured which is a requirement anyone that works at your home should meet.
