Description of Work: I called this morning about moving a light switch and electrical socket. The office person was very polite and scheduled us for a visit today at 1 pm. Mike and Jerry arrived right on time. They reviewed our project and went straight to work. They were most professional and courteous and a joy to have working on our project. They did a great job, tested and cleaned up their mess. These guys were just super!

Description of Work: Jake and Todd arrived on time,replaced a sump pump receptacle, tested the pump, and tested the alarm. They were respectful, explained everything they did, and took the extra steps to answer all my questions about the necessary next steps involving my plumber. Description of Work: I had an electrical switch that was not working correctly and gave my daughter a buzz when she truned it on, so I called them right away. They had someone at my house in one hour! They fixed the problem, a lose connection, in no time and explained what was wrong and what they were doing. They even gave me more helpful tips on some other electrical questions I had. They even gave me a military discount. I will be calling them again and recommending them to everyone I know who needs this type of company. Thank you American Electrical.

Description of Work: Several electrical outlets had gone bad in my house. The technicians were able to diagnose the problem and educate me on how to fix myself. They also inspected all outlets and power box before leaving.

Description of Work: Called two days ago to discuss costs and availability for electrical work at my residence. Was quickly transferred to a voicemail. Not sure who I was tranferred too, just the standard leave a voicemail and beep. Very unprofessional. Haven't received a call back since leaving the voicemail. If they don't have the time to return sales calls they surely don't have the time to complete a job. On to the next in hopes of finding someone dependable.

Description of Work: We use American Electric as our electrician. For a large company, they provide a consistent level of service at a fair price. I adm an AC contractor and know a lot of electrical contractors, but these guys are the ones I use.

Description of Work: I reported an issue with my GFI breaker tripping and inability to reset. Called on 5/23 and set up appt for 1300 on 5/24. I was met by Shawn & Justin. They were ahead of schedule so punctuality is not an issue. Both were very friendly and professional and troubleshot my problem, which was fortunately not in my wiring, but in a defective pool pump that kept tripping the breaker. Due to the age of the house Shawn determined where the "homerun" was and installed a new GFI at that point. He also recommended that due to the type of wiring in our house he recommended a surge for our service panel and gave me a quote. I also had them check the wiring to a smoke detector and found that our detector was bad. They replaced that as well. They were in the house no more than an hour and determined the problem and fixed it. I had mentioned that I had gone to Angie's List before I called an electrician and went to American, because of what I read fm other customers. I will definitely use and refer American Electrical Contracting in the future.

Description of Work: I retained them to do an inspection of the electrical system in my house, which is very old and has a wide assortment of wiring types (knob & tube, aluminum, romex, etc.). They did the same inspection they usually do for insurance companies, but charged me a lot less since they didn't have to do a bunch of paperwork. They did a very thorough job of inspecting the breakers, wiring, outlets, etc., then replaced some of the outlets and made some very reasonable recommendations to improve safety and efficiency. I will definitely rehire them to implement those recommendations.
