American Certified Home Inspections

Initially we thought Glenn had done a good job. Sadly, however the house we purchased turned out to be a nightmare of problems. Several of these problems should have been caught and reported to us by Glenn. The first problem we discovered was drywall sagging 3 to 4 inches from the ceiling. Next we discovered that the siding at the gable ends of the home had been done improperly and had covered over the ventilation and that the attic was inadequately insulated or had no insulation at all in one large area. Next we discovered that the roof had no ventilation. And finally we discovered that the wood burning fireplace had no chimney. All of the items Glenn missed in his inspection are items that are covered as "Shall be Inspected" in the Standards of Practice outlined as part of his inspection report. Additionally, when I notified Glenn of the problem he became very defensive treated me like I stupid and hung up on me. Since then the only communication we have had has been through the BBB where he became insulting and accused me of slander. These repairs have cost us thousands of dollars and will cost us thousands more. I highly discourage anyone from hiring American Certified Home Inspections and/or Glenn McMillan not just because he did a poor job for us but also because he has refused to make this right in any way.

Glenn McMillan produced an organized, thorough and detailed 27 page report. He called out all the areas that need to be repaired per Florida building codes. This has made the walk through more productive and reduced the back and forth. I plan to have him return to review the repairs are done correctly. Awesome work all around and he also gave me tips on things to do to save on the Home Owners Insurance costs.
