The technician arrived as scheduled, evaluated the issue and replaced the rollers that were causing the garage door to not open and close. The rollers caused the door to fit too snugly in the opening, so technician shaved down casing to allow it to function properly. His attention to his work allowed us to get this done quickly without too much trouble.

America's Garage Door knew immediately what the problem was and fixed it in a timely matter. They even went above and beyond by going ahead and giving both of our garage doors a proper tune-up. I would highly recommend this company and will use them again.

UNPROFESSIONAL - A young kid by the name of Michael shows up disheveled and eating his yogurt. He continued to eat his yogurt when speaking to me with his mouth full. He didn’t introduce himself, he didn’t comb his hair and clearly didn't put much thought into his presentation. He was wearing gym shorts and his company's T-Shirt. Unprofessional from the start. I had to ask all the questions and I wasn't impressed. He didn't elaborate on much AT ALL. I wish I would have stayed in the garage to watch him while the supposed 5 minute "TUNE-UP" was done. I think all he did was spray the parts and I question whether he actually did spray all the parts. Whatever he did didn't fix the noise. It was "slightly" better but he said the creaking "could" be the coils and it would just have to work itself out. He said I could buy a new motor in five years that was quieter because the builder put in a cheap one. He really didn't have much to say in regards to anything. I was initiating ALL conversation and asking every question. I cannot believe they have this kid coming out to meet with customers. I will NEVER reach out to this company again. I feel completely ripped off because I don't trust this kid did much but finish eating his breakfast.

Technician sprayed a teflon spray on door for noise issues and told me that it was aligned and that I didn't need anything else done. The door is now making more noise than before.

The technician called ahead of time to say that he was on the way and arrived within the planned window. He was knowledgeable and provided a great detail into not only the work he accomplished but also some background regarding the quality of the installed door. The service was exceptional. I would hire again.

Only issue I had was after the appointment, I found several screws and some debris left on garage door floor from the install of the new motor.

I got ripped off for $300.00. I was in a rush because I was going out of town. The company charged me $300.00 and he was done with the work in less than one hour. I would not use this company again. This is a perfect example of being taken advantage of someone who is vulnerable.

To start, American Garage arrived without calling ahead. I will note that in my scheduling notes, I indicated that 'mornings' were best and gave several dates. In my business engagements, I would expect a phone call, at a minimum, while in route to let me know that they were on the way. On that date, my sprinkler system was inoperable and I had a pre-scheduled appointment with the sprinkler service. When I saw the truck pull in the driveway, I assumed it was my sprinkler man, but driving a different truck. When I got to the garage, I saw that it was American Garage. The young man who was dispatched was friendly, pleasant and asked where I wanted the keypad installed - he then noted it would take about 10 minutes. I went back in the house to work and came back in about 15 minutes or so and saw the look on his face - my Genie garage door opener apparently fell in the 10% that are not compatible with his device. (the ad did note that their product worked on 90%, so I wasn't angry). Before he left, I asked him some questions about general maintenance of the garage door (lubricating the henges, etc.) he told me what to do and how often but he, himself, did nothing after attempting to install the keypad. By this time, my sprinkler guy is here to dig up my yard. The young man said goodbye, drove away and I picked up a can of WD-40 and began to spray the hinges on the garage door. After looking at the coupon for this $100 deal, this is when I realized that I paid for American Garage to do it -- essentially, I gave a $100 donation to a company for no work performed!!!! I am a long-standing Angie's list customer who has found MANY great service providers; this, unfortunately, is the first time that I've had to write a negative review. Again, the technician was polite but obviously was not well informed about the special and was not instructed that general professional courtesy requires a call to the homeowner to ensure they are at home. I will never solicit garage work of any kind from American Garage. I am a business professional and happy to pay for high quality customer service. I gave a $100 donation to American Garage and not happy about it at all. I hope that this note helps another homeowner - PLEASE have your coupon out and ready when they arrive. (and please note that I have used MANY coupons on Angie's list and never had to pull it out when the Tech arrived)!!

Did not turn out so good. In the middle of the repair, they broke the motor, which ended up being $300.00 dollars, and costing me three times the original price, and they had to come back out three different times.

Did a tune-up and replaced faulty part. Extra work priced reasonably and good job was done. Very satisfied.

After getting a 2nd opinion (and better quoted price) from a different company, I realized these guys are either incompetent or just dishonest... I bought a house. Month later garage had issues so I called these guys since their number was on the wall. I could see that the coupler inside the opener was broken and needed to be replaced, and asked them to come out. They came out, without the part. Took an hour+ for him to drive back to a warehouse and go get the part and come back. After replacing the broken part, he wasn't able to get the door adjusted so that it didn't stop half way. He said that the opener was broken and not worth fixing, and that I needed a new opener and that I also needed 2 new springs (quoted hundreds of dollars). After calling around, I got a quote from a different company (Garage Door Guys) to come out since they were going to charge a lot less for an opener + 2 new springs. Turns out, the Garage Door Guys company was able to fix my existing opener in 5 minutes, AND they said that our springs were in good shape still / had already been replaced. Saved me hundreds of dollars. So, in summary: America's Garage Doors is a very poor choice in garage door repair companies.

Ok so for starters I contacted this company due to my garage door malfunctioning. The tech came out and diagnosed my problem as worn springs and rollers. The springs were not broken nor were the rollers. The door would not consistently open and close using the opener. I've since learned that the issue was likely just that it needed adjustment and the door rebalance. At the time however I was ignorant of that and listened to the tech from Americas Garage Door. He sold me 2 new springs, new rollers, a,d a service charge for about $600... He tried to sale me an opener as well. The tech was here about an hour and said the door was now good to go. Within 2 days the problem was back. I did some research and learned that the door wasn't balanced making the opener have trouble with the lifting and closing of the door. I could raise the door halfway and let it go and it would slam shut instead of staying. Likely my springs were fine so I was taken for a ride. Since then my chain broke trying to lift the too heavy and unbalanced door. I then contacted Americas Garage Doors and complained. They said they were sending a tech back out between 3 and 5pm on 5/24/16 and he would call. I took off work to be home and waited. The tech called at 430pm and said he would be about an hour. At 600pm he called and said another hour. At 730 pm he called and said he would be here soon. At 800pm he called and said it was too late to come and he would come in the morning. The tech said he would call at 730am on 5/25/16 and would be At my house by 800am. Once again I missed work to be here and got taken for a ride again... No call and no show on the tech as of 900am while I'm writing this review. At this point Americas Garage Doors has taken $600 of my money, not fixed my door, sold me stuff I didnt likely need, and waisted 8+ hours of my work time.... I would not recommend them at all and encourage people to beware...

Everything went very well. The installer was professional and cleaned up after he completed the job.
