Description of Work: Service call after my a/c died - then installed new Lennox system. Offered to set up a portable a/c in a window for use over the weekend but I could survive a couple days without. I have no way of knowing if the cost was too high or an average cost for the system as I did not compare. All 4 men involved (service call, sales & 2 installers) were very nice & professional.

Description of Work: Installed top of the line A/C unit with controls for different zones of our home. It went very well. We have used them for many years. They provide quality service and great products. They provide excellent follow-up services after installations. They are professional and we highly recommend them.

Description of Work: We are extremely pleased with Service Experts and heartily recommend them. Service Experts has provided semi-annual maintenance on our HVAC systems for years. The maintenance is extremely thorough; the technician is here for hours each time. In addition, Service Experts has installed two different systems for us. The first system turned out to have capacity issues, so when we asked them to replace it in October 2013, they bent over backwards to remedy the problem. Troy, who sold us the system, used to install and maintain HVAC systems himself, so he really knows his stuff, unlike sales people for some companies who don't know the ins and outs of their products. He brought the head installer and the lead trouble shooter in the local Service Experts office, and collectively they redesigned our system to address the problems, which we had exacerbated by enclosing a 150 square foot porch. They redid, on their own nickel, some of the original duct work installed by a different vendor when the house was built. We are very, very happy with the new system. Our main concern is quality rather than lowest price, so we haven't obtained competing bids and can't speak to Service Experts' pricing overall relative to other vendors. We wouldn't think of using anyone else other than Service Experts.

Description of Work: Heat Pump fan was running, but no heat. Called on Saturday and service rep came on Sunday. Minor problem with unit was repaired promptly and for a Sunday call, I believe was reasonable price.

Description of Work: We moved here 2 wks before. Couldn't come til 10pm.Claimed we needed a new compressor (under warranty by them) for AC. Would take 2 -3 days to order it. Got 2nd opinion. Had guests. It was 90+. 2nd company was there in 15 min. Fixed it in a half hour for $169. They said the 1st guy should have known that we didn't need a new one. AC still working great!

Description of Work: I have used Air Engineers for approximately 25 years. They merged with Air Engineers to become Service Experts. The last service call I made to them was to come and service my unit upstairs and troubleshoot the downstairs unit to see if if could be repaired and at "what cost" is so. I was surprised and disappointed when the service technician presented me with a bill for servicing BOTH units. I questioned the technician as to why he would service a non-working unit (I had already told the company dispatcher and the tech when he arrived that morning). His response was that he had to service the unit in order to tell me what was wrong with it. The unit was non-working and did not require servicing. It required a problem diagnosis. Turns out that the compressor was gone which any competent technician could have discovered in a few minutes without charging for servicing the unit. I no longer use Service Experts (Air Engineers) and I called them and told them why. I was offered a discount on my next service but no refund of the cost of the unnecessary service charge for the broken unit.

Description of Work: We have a service contract that calls for semi-annual servicing of our two a/c units. When the tech came into our home to lower the a/c settings, he tracked dirt throughout the house. When he went outside and I was cleaning up the dirt, I discovered that he did not know how to change the setting on the computerized thermostat. This had been installed by his company. He then went upstairs and stated that if he had any questions, he would let me know. It was clear that he did not want me watching him. When he was finished he went to the outside units and checked the settings. When he was getting ready to leave, I asked him how were the air filters on the upstair units. The way he answered my question, left me wondering if he had checked them. After he left, I went upstairs and the first filter I checked still had combwebs across the unit and filter. I couldn't tell on the second. I then went outside to check that the circuit breakers were put back. (Six months before he left one breaker out, and the house temp went up to 85 degrees). Both breakers were ok. I noticed that there were leaves inside both units. I called the company and asked if they had changed their service and are nolonger removing the leaves. I was told that it was part of their service. I also told the service rep about the filters not being checked. She notified the service manager and a second tech was sent within two hours. He spent over 1 1/2 hours rechecking everything including removing the leaves in both units. He did say that we had about another 2-3 months before the filters needed to be replaced.After he left, I left a detailed message with the service rep who stated that it would be forwarded to the service manager. The next day, I received an e-mail from the acting service manager, who apologized for the poor service and stated that they would return our $265.00 and keep the contract in place for the remainder of the 12 months.
