We bought a fixer-upper and had to redo almost everything in the house. Out of the 10 or so contractors we worked with during the process, Affordable Carpet & Wood was BY FAR the most professional and responsive, and the end result was an amazing set of hardwood floors. They were there when they said the would be, gave us a very competitive price, and worked with us on any issues we encountered along the way. I did a ton of research before pulling the trigger and knew that strand woven bamboo was one of the hardest woods on the market, but had no idea how much the product varies from vendor to vendor. Don't want to slam other vendors, but be careful who you buy from! I learned quickly that Affordable only buys high quality product from reputable manufacturers. Can't tell you how happy I am that i did not buy from the other large retailers. They simply can't match the quality and just as important, the customer service. Not sure what else I can say about my experience with Jeff and his team, but I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for flooring!

Jeff very carefully and thoroughly showed me all of the possiblities of red oak (which I had already determined I wanted). He stepped me throught the process of what was needed (leveling the floor, testing for humidity) and why. He gave me a rough estimate and then came to the house to measure, and followed with a detailed emailed invoice. He told us what we would have to remove so they could maneuver the heavier pieces of furniture. The crew was always very prompt, ommunicative, and in good disposition and made as little mess as was humanly possible.I had forgotten initially to ask if the carpeting material could be recycled and the crew said it would no problem to take it to a place to do that. That was very important to me. They first put down goo over the whole floor to level it and then came back later to hand scrape it to level the chunks. They only did part of the flooring at a time so that we could continue to have living quarters at different areas. The kitchen turned out to be more humid than the rest of the house so in the gluing stage, used a higher level glue in that area. They cut the pieces of wood in various lengths so that it doesn't look like a "pattern". One area felt hollow after the installation (in the hall to our bedroom) and Joe was able to somehow shoot more glue in that area. It now sounds like the rest of the floor. I still dont see where he did this, but it worked! Jeff came in the middle of the project to see how things were going and answer any questions. He also told us how to clean the flooring and gave us some product to get us started. We did the common areas including hallways and our Master Bedroom closet. Three guys were here three days and two guys were here two days, so it took a total of five days. Perhaps that is shorter than some, because my husband will do the shoe molding. I have the most beautiful floor in the city!

My entire experience with Affordable Carpet and Wood/Jeff Howard (and his office manager Bonnie) was awesome! Jeff truly cares about his customers and he goes over and beyond to ensure your level of satisfaction. Jeff runs a great business, and was on the ball 100% of the time?and is why I am leaving this review. Jeff is very prompt and a great communicator. When I was looking for a contractor, I called his store, and he immediately returned my call. Afterward, if I had missed a call from him or had a question for him, I could (with absolute certainty) be sure he would return my call within minutes. And if he was not going to be around (ie. Vacation/other meetings) he would let you know in advance. That being said, after setting up AC&W as a contractor, I got a site visit scheduled. Jeff showed up on time (and every time after that), he looked very neat and professional, and he was prepared & ready to take care of business. To be honest, I was very impressed with their turn-around time as well?I?ve never seen anything like it in the construction business. Jeff is also very experienced. He mentioned, at one point in his life, he was a carpet installer?and for the past +20 years, he has been a contractor. . Needless to say, he has also been doing this kind of work for a while, and it defiantly shows. If you think you have all the answers, you probably don?t, but he?ll walk you through the details, and give you options. As for the price that he quoted us, it?s been impossible to beat. We had some administrative issues (on my end) that kept us from working together. The replacement contractor (a national flooring company) is going to cost me about $6K more, and the line of communication is like pushing a rope?it doesn't get you anywhere. I?m sure it?ll go smoothly, but I can sure tell you that I already miss the bar that Jeff had set. All in all, I can't say enough good things about the level of customer service, price, quality of the products, and the experience that AC&W brings to the table. So, when someone asks me about carpeting contractors, I know where I?ll be sending them?.straight to Jeff Howard at Affordable Carpet and Wood. Affordable Carpet & Wood Inc did a good follow up, they had a good price compared to competitors, and Jeff was real good as far as his estimate and coming out when he said he would come out. I would have went with Affordable Carpet & Wood Inc but it was just a scheduling issue. I liked their punctuality and their references. I would say definitely call them.

The job turned out beautiful!!!! The carpet was exactly what I wanted, very nice carpet at a good price. The bamboo floors are absolutely gorgeous and the installation was flawless. The guys worked very hard to make everything turn out great from the moving of the furniture to the replacement of my shoemolding once the job was complete. I bought the pads for the furniture and they made sure they were placed on every piece so there would be no scratches on my wood floor. I have received so many compliments on my floor. I had been trying to decide for almost two years what type of flooring to use, It is a major investment and not one you want to make a mistake on. I feel I ended up with just what I wanted and needed by having Jeff Howard's advice and guidance. Otherwise, I may have not been as happy with the end result. I would highly recommend his Company.

They did removal and replacement of carpet. They have exceptional service and expertise. They have great recommendations on products and a really professional installation crew.

They did a great job. They've have good installers and the work is of great quality. Jeff is a good guy and everything has worked out well. They have always completed everything they said they would. We don't have any problem calling them for additional work.

Jeff, owner of Affordable Carpet and Wood, was referred to us by our Realtor. We called Jeff and he made appointment to come out to our home and measure and give us an estimate. We were trying to match existing carpet in our home. Jeff was able to match it almost perfectly. He was very reasonable on price (we called around and got quotes on same carpet with padding). He was spot-on with his price. Ray and Jason, the installers, were awesome. Considerate, polite and did a great job with the install. A problem with the padding arose after the installation which was NO way a fault of Jeff's or the installers', but rather the fault of the manufacturer. Called Jeff and sent out the installers immediately to evaluate and re-install with new padding at NO charge to us. Unfortunately, the replacement padding had the same problem. This was a VERY RARE occurrence. Called Jeff and he offered to UPGRADE our padding at NO charge to us!!! Almost unheard of these days! The installers came and had to move out furniture and boxes (two times in a row) to install the upgraded, new padding. They did it with absolutely no complaints and did a great job. Jeff was always available to discuss the situation and did everything he could to make us happy and satisfied... even when it meant loosing money on the job! We have several other rooms of carpeting we'd like to either replace with new carpeting or go with wood, and we will DEFINITELY be getting quotes from Jeff for these rooms. Jeff and his team are reliable and honest. They make the customer their #1 priority! We would recommend to anyone looking for new flooring.

It was a wonderful experience working with them. The material was good and the pricing was reasonable and competitive. They helped us subcontract the installation out to a company they regularly use and we were very pleased their work. We have nothing but great things to say about them and we have recommended them to others.

I feel that Affordable Carports quality of work could have been better. I have found spots that I feel should have be tacked down better. We were also installing other flooring, so it made it a little more difficult.
