Angie's list told me that he offers 5% senior discount and I mentioned this to him but he did not abide his promise, he has a lot of reasons and I'm not too happy. He took my old motor with him without telling me. The new motor was working so far, he did what he supposed to do and the work was good.

It went well they showed up on time and did a great job!

Backstory: I had ordered a new garage door opener from Amazon along with installation services which would cost $149. After 48 hours of no contact from the Amazon services regarding the scheduling of my installation. I contacted Amazon to get more information and, after about 2 hours, I received an email stating that they were unable to locate anyone to do the installation and that I would have to call around and locate someone to install it for me. Scheduling and Installation I called a couple of companies on Angie's List to get pricing. All the other prices I received were quite a bit higher (between $200 and $300) I reached Action Garage Door Svcs Of Florida who quoted me $139 and I was told that they would be able to install it the same day. I scheduled and was told that the technician would be out in a couple of hours. A couple of hours later, the technician arrived, in the midst of a HUGE wind storm and it was beginning to thunder and lightning out. He mentioned that we may have to reschedule, which I understood as the entire county was currently in a Tornado Watch. However, the technician pushed through and got the old garage door opener down and the new one installed in a couple of hours, even with the wind and rain outside. He also took away the old opener. Overall I am very satisfied with this interaction.

They did great work, not particularly cheap, but good.

It went ok, the packing material was left behind but the liftmaster, it's remote and etc. were taken.

It was $247.00, but they gave me a 10% discount, because I was an Angie's List customer. I think they came out after hours. I think the price was fair. It has been working every since, and I haven't had any problems. I think they came within an hour after I called, so that to me was very good. They were on time. They called me when they were on their way out and said they would be there in 15 minutes. I think they were there on time, within the time they said. He fixed the problem, and I haven't had one since.

Mike called me an hour before his expected arrival time to let me know he was on his way. Though I was unable to be at the house, my boyfriend was and he stated Mike was good, proficient, comical and cleaned up well. The only hiccup I had was that I called Monday afternoon to schedule an appointment for Wednesday and the receptionist whom I spoke to said she would contact a technician who would return my call. Never got a call back so I ended up calling back Tuesday night & got a call back in about an hour to schedule the appointment for the next day. It all worked out.

My standards are high and it's not often that a contractor exceeds expectations, Michael Tedula, Action Garage Door Services, Jacksonville, FL, was awesome. I was so impressed with him that I joined Angie's list so I could let you know who to call when you have garage problems. Michael has pride in his work and the talent to go with it. Deb

He arrived promptly and was pleasant and courteous. He determined that the rollers were close to failing and recommended replacing them. He had the parts and did the job efficiently. He recommended replacing the belt drive to cut down on the noise level at a later date.

They were able to come out on short notice, which relived a lot of stress for me - considering that my garage door was totally immobile. He was able to wrestle my old wooden heavy (two car size) door back into it's proper position, reattach the massive springs, and even managed to straighten the warped places in the original track so that I didn't need to replace it. (I'd explained that I was on a tight budget.) He did strongly recommend replacing the old metal rollers with nylon ones - which I agreed with, as the old ones were in terrible condition, even to my untrained eyes. He was also very careful about working around the car that was trapped in the garage - not a scratch, not even a smudge. He made sure that the door worked properly before he left, and even gave me the last of his can of the proper type of spray lube to use on the track in the future. It ran so smoothly, it was hard to believe it was the same door - and so incredibly quiet, compared to the old metal rollers!! No more screeching and rattling! Even now, a year and a half later (the delay being that I just joined Angie's List), it's still working smoothly. I'm very happy with the repairs that they made, and would recommend them to anyone! Even if you don't need an urgent repair, if you have the old metal rollers and wince every time your door goes up or down, consider replacing them with the nylon ones... It's an awesome difference that still makes me smile!

Our garage door was acting strange every time we used our remotes it would start to go up then all of a sudden reverse it self and decide to go down, this went on for a couple of days then it stopped working all together. We did everything the manual told us to try and had no luck. So we called Action Garage Services on a Friday night around 7PM. My husband called and spoke with Jeff and he said he could send someone out out the next day at 9;00 AM. The technician David arrived at 8:55 AM. He did a very thorough inspection on all the parts of the opener. He found that the problem was the gear kit. He said that it would be 278.00 to fix, we thought that was a little high so he said he would apply the inspection fee to the cost of the gear kit and labor. I told him I was also interested in getting an outside keypad and asked if he had one to install and he said he did and he would include it in the price for us! He worked for about a total of two hours. After he was done with his work, he made us check the remotes in our cars and they were NOT working, so he helped us set those back up and gave us instructions on the keypad. We felt that David from Action Garage was very professional and friendly and honest with us. He took his time, did a complete inspection and did an excellent repair job. He was very patient in helping us reset our remotes and showing us how to use the keypads. We felt he wanted to give us the best deal he could. He told us it would work like new and it does. Our Garage Door has never sounded better!! Even when it was new it would squeak and rattle when we would open and close it. Now it is so quiet you barely hear it when you open and close it. It also came with a one year warranty. We are extremely pleased with Action Garage Door Services, they were courteous on the phone, the technician arrived on time, was very friendly and professional and we feel gave us a fair price. The 2 repairmen were on time and efficient. I have been using their service for 8-10 years and am thoroughly satisfied.

Garage door opener was installed but was not compatible with homelink in our 2 cars. Action promptly corrected the issue and provided excellent service.

Absolutely marvelous! With response the guy came when he said he was supposed to be, he was going to be here, he was friendly, he was knowledgeable, he put it in and then bolted and it was done and it works great.

Showed up on time and replaced garage door opener

David gave me a courtesy call to say he'd be a few minutes late. He was very competent, professional and did a great job!

Action Garage Door (ACD) replaced my springs in sep 2007 at which time I purchased the lifetime warranty. Well here it is almoct 6 yrs later and one of the springs broke. When I called ACD this morning and told them I needed a new spring under terms of their warranty program, The first thing thay said was I needed a copy of the original invoice (which I had) to qualify. They came out 4 hrs later and installed the new springs. You should know that the warranty covers replacement of the existing springs. You will have to pay for a new warranty on the replacement springs. The warranty only covers parts, you are on the hook for labor ($89 for 1 spring - $149 for 2 springs).

Morgan did a great job with the installation. He was courteous and efficient. I've had no problems since.

A repairman came and assessed the work, gave total cost to repair door, gave date and time of work. He came on day stated, very punctual and professional. Work was completed and charge was same as given the day of assessment. Yes I would use them again. Also gave me option to pay for lifetime warranty for an additional cost. Since I had the original door repaired several times I was more than happy to buy the lifetime warranty on doors, part,and labor. the cost included $858.00 to replace door plus $300.00 for lifetime warranty.

Within weeks of the installation the opener began to malfunction and we had to call for warranty service. But by the time the service rep arrived the door had started working again. However, a few days later the opener stopped working again. This time the person on the telephone was difficult to talk to, argumentative, and stated that we'd need to pay for a service charge if the electronic eyes were out of adjustment. He stated "I don't know what's going on over there" as though someone had messed with the eyes. Although not happy at this point, we agreed to have the service rep come the next day between 10 and noon. At noon the next day I began calling to see what was up but no one was there that could give us an update on the service reps schedule. I left to go to work shortly after that. Then, at about 12:40 pm Jeff called and said the service rep was at my parents house. I told him I didn't want him there without me because my parents were very upset. Jeff became rude, argumentative and tried to tell me I had the appointment window wrong; in other words everything was the customers fault. The phone call quickly turned into a shouting match. I did agree to go back to my parents house and have the repair work done. The service rep did find a wiring problem with the newly installed electronic eyes. It was a bad experience by the time it was finally over and I think my elderly parents would not have been well taken care of had I not intervened. And, Jeff is a jerk!

I have used Action Garage Doors in the past for several of my rental homes and primary home. They are prof., trust worthy, arrive on time, shoot straight, and get the job done right the 1st time. Their price is more than competitive and I have felt comfortable in doing business with them in the past and will continue in the future. This company has installed 2 full garage door on two homes, installed 4 door openers (one in my primary home), and fixed two existing rental home doors that the tenant wrecked.

I called on a Friday said he would be here between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. He called at 10:00 and let me know that it would be more toward 12:00. He arrived at 12:15. My door was very load and he explained and showed me the condition of the rollers. He also pointed out the pulleys were bad. He gave me the quote and I authorized the work. It took him approximately 40 min. He did some adjustments on the eye alignments and left me a can of Lube to spray on the rollers and hinges every 3 months. Very professional

It went very well. They showed up at the time they were supposed to and did the work. Everything looked great. I don’t think my husband got an estimate.

Disgusting. This business should be named ''Greed in Action''. It's been a long time since I've been so ripped off and overcharged as I was by Action Garage Door. First words from the technicians mouth was that I needed to replace the track wheels, that they were builders grade. There was nothing wrong with the wheels, he was just trying to squeeze more cash out of me to the tune of $169. I was charged $149 for the service call which included no labor. The labor was an additional $149 for 20 minutes work. The work was not charged by the hour. It was a flat fee, just like the show-up fee. There was an additional 4% charge for using a credit card and a $8.95 fuel surcharge. The last time this company came to fix the garage door, we were told there would be a 20% discount if we called them in the future. This turned out to be a lie. I called around to compare the pricing with other services and the highest price I got was $225. The tech even emptied trash from his truck into my driveway.
