ACE DOOR & WINDOW

I could hardly open my sliding glass door installed when my house was built in 1987. ACE DOOR & WINDOW offered to come out and repair it for $190 (fixed price). If they could not fix it there would be no charge! The serviceman was prompt, professional and skilled. When he finished it was better than new!

At beginning, communication was poor. The expert had to recut some of the pieces as they did not fit. But, the finished product was very good.

We had a great experience with having Ace Door & Window replace our back door. We had a couple of other estimates done by others but they were overpriced. Ace Door & Window was prompt with communication and service as well as very professional. We couldn't be happier with our new door!

I had a handyman look the job and he suggested that I get a professional sliding door person because finding the parts etc was a little too much for him. So contacted Ace who did give me a quote for $190 which I thought was a little high but I also thought the work was difficult. When the worker arrived it only took just a few minutes and for the work performed was way over priced. I think $120 would have been more than fair. I will not use them again because of their high cost.

The technician arrived on time and assessed the problem and explained the work he was going to do. He went about his work quickly and professionally. I had had the same problem about five years prior and it took the worker at least two hours the manhandle the door out of the lower track to access the bottom of the door, replace the wheels, and work the door back over the track. The ACE DOOR tech had the knowhow and equipment to do the job in about twenty minutes.

Repairman came on time, gave a one hour window. Very thorough inspection of doors and recomended replacing single wheels with doube wheel sets. He had to modify these to fit since it they were older doors. Cleaned up and recommended spray to keep operating smoothly. I can tell you these doors work better now than when they were new! I was very inpressed with the quality of the work and the time he took to make sure it was operating correctly. This was service beyond what I expected. Thank you

Free Quote to replace window. They were on time and no large window gap, like some companies do. I really appreciate service people showing up on time, says a lot about being responsable. They were honest said not just the glass had to be reapir but the frame, explained that requires permit. Even I remeber they do not replace frames but recommeneded some who who could. So they came out for free, were on time, explained to me what was going on and very friendly.

Joe was on time and very professional and friendly. He completed the work in good time and made sure that I was satisfied with the door. I would recommend this company.

We called Ace based on positive reviews in Angie's list and after having several estimates for window replacement. Victor was professional and straightforward and recommended replacement of the sash weight mechanisms versus replacing the windows altogether. He had a guy who had experience with our window brand specifically that would be ordering the parts and doing that work. As an addition, we asked to have two patio doors replaced. Ace was very accomodating as we were able to get a comparable product under a different name at Home Depot, which they installed with no issue.The problems we had were mainly centered around the window sash replacements..primarily the man for the job "Joe". During the initial installation, Joe identified a cracked window which I had not seen when washing the window a week before. So we agreed to have the window replaced rather than arguing who was responsible. That window was replaced 2x because the replacement window was incorrectly sized (by joe) and broke upon installation. The second more serious issue is that some of the windows would not remain fully closed until locked; I should mention these were double hung windows so a sagging sash leaves space open at the top of the upper pane. Ace was again accomodating in the office sending Joe back out to examine the issue. He said he felt he ordered the right parts but would get back to us with a solution. A couple of weeks later Joe came back out. His solution was to secure the window in place with screws effectively making the double hung windows single hung. This after I paid to have the mechanism replaced so the windows would work as designed. I told Joe no way, and he was able to come back in a couple more weeks with new mechanisms, that seem to have held, however, about a month later, we were back in the same situation. Upon closer examination of the window, it looks like some piece of the mechanism has come loose, I didn't care to revisit the issue. It had already traversed three months time, and I felt I had given ample opportunity for the issue to be resolved.

The door was hard to fix and the service man kept working until it was fixed correctly.

They were outrageous. The person who came to give me the quote was rushed. The quote came back a week or two later, and by that time, I had already ordered what I was going to have. The company that actually did the work quoted me almost half of what they quoted for the same windows. I would not take a quote from them again in the future.

RUDE, rude, rude and worse. The telephone rep. has a serious problem with customers.

Ace Windows sent two installers. They were prompt, courteous, professional and helpful. They completed the work in a timely fashion and left everything clean. As it turned out, I did not require everything that was estimated, and they removed the charge from my invoice.

Positive experience all the way around. Involved visit to home for an estimate. Work performed on the promised date. An excellent experience - I can recommend this firm without hesitation

When selling our house, I found out that I would probably need to repair or replace a fogged window that would not open completely. I called this company and the representative took time to answer my questions about what parts would likely need to be replaced and about how much it would cost. I did not have the window repaired because the seller's mortgage company did not require it to be done.

I was satisfied with their overall professionalism in estimation, explanation of exactly what they planned to do, the sections they built, and their installation.

I had contacted 2 other vendors seeking advice on repairing the door. I was told that the manufacturer had gone out of business and parts were no longer available. One of the those vendors did try to install replacement rollers but the attempt did not work. I figured I was facing the prospect of an expensive ($1000+) door replacement and 2-3 weeks while a new doord was ordered. Then I called ACE after seeing their review on Angie's List. The technician that came to my house was Joe, and he was great. He focused right on the problem. I told him what the other vendors had recommended. He just smiled and went to work. He carries a lot of replacement parts on his truck. He came back in with new rollers and within about 15 minutes he had the door working like it was brand new. He made some adjustments to the door height and ensured it was straight. He lubricated the track and the door is now working great. When my wife saw the results, she could not believe it. ACE told me right up front what they would charge for the service call. They said they come out expecting to repair the door. If they could not repair, there would be no charge and they would quote a new door replacement. The price might seem high, but it is much less than a new door and the results were very impressive. I would call ACE again without any hesitation.

Victor came right on time and was friendly and willing to answer all questions. He quickly diagnosed the problem -- broken springs and plastic hardware, and promptly fixed each window we called about. We were so thrilled that we had him fix a few more windows and we asked advice on replacement of a bathroom window. Before fixing our bedroom window, one that gets direct afternoon light, he suggested replacing it with a new window that has a coating built into the glass. He discussed other options also and did not pressure us. We decided to wait on that window and he sent a quote within 2 days for the price of replacing the bedroom and bathroom windows, plus, a quote for resetting our offset back door. The company then followed up to see if we wanted to order the windows. In total, he fixed 7 windows, all of them large except for 1. We have already referred this company to another family.

This was an excellent experience. It is so nice to do business with a company that does what it says it will do. The tech was knowledgeable and pleasant. I would not hesitate to do business with this company again and would recommend them to my friends.

Would absolutely use again. ACE, which is a family owned company, was thorough, careful and totally professional. One of the owners worked along with his employees. Courteous. Cleaned up, and also washed the windows. Arrived on time. Finished the job in 2 days. Owner came back the following day to check and fix any small imperfections. HIGHLY recommended.

Ace office staff is polite and knowledgeable. The representative arrived on time for the appointment, was polite and answered my questions. The windows were installed on time and Ace did a nice job on them, and cleaned up afterward. I can now stay in each room during the HOT summers months, whereas I could not before. I will use them again, and would recommend them to friends.

We got a quote from them last week. They?ll probably start work in a couple of weeks. When we first called them they were pretty responsive. At their office they had shown me pictures of a front door, and I found it to be very convenient. They seemed pretty good overall.

Overall the installation went well. Gary who came out to give the estimate was professional yet friendly. He was very knowledgable about the products. Although he had samples of the regular windows, I had to go to the Pella store (across town from where I live) to see what were my options in ordering the windows for the den. The Pella folks were very informative and gave a good reference for Ace. I gave Ace a down payment of $5,000. It took 6 weeks from placement of order to get the windows in (I believe that the Pella windows are what caused the length of time). However, Ace did tell me that the double hung windows that were sent were the wrong kind and they had to reorder. Fortunantly, due to the Pella windows taking 6 weeks, the reorder did not impact the installation time table. When the Pella windows came in, Ace called to set up an appt for installation. The installation crew were on time to the appt. Installation went well, even though they had to do some extensive framing that they had not anticipated and was completed within the anticipated 2 days. However, I was informed that the window roll shades I had included as part of the Pella order were not in, and that Pella would be coming back to install the roll shades. Also, one of the window blinds either was broken or was already broke during installation. I was informed that Pella would fix that also. Ace had no problem with me paying only 1/2 of what was owed on the job, with the remainder to be paid when I was satisfied with the job. However, when the city inspector came out to inspect, the job did not pass inspection due to some windows not being caulked or caulked inproperly. Also one window was missing a screw. I called Ace and told them the job did not pass inspection and they immediately pulled up the report and called for an appt to come back and fix the trouble areas. I arranged for both Ace and Pella to come out the next week to finish the job. They both were on time for the appt and finished the job (caulking, installing screw, installing shades, fixing blinds) that day. Both times, the crew were very careful about not tracking into the house, laying down tarp to walk on when working in rooms with light colored carpeting. They cleaned up before they left each day. All of the installation crew were professional and friendly. However, because the Pella window shades were not available for the initial installation and the inspection failure due to lack of appropriate caulking, we had to take down cornice boards, window hangings and move furniture in order for both Ace and Pella to finish the job. This was additional work on our part which would not have been necessary if they had been able to complete the job correctly within the allotted 2 days. We love the look and functionality of our new windows. Although we had worried about it, there was no damage at all to the vinyl/aluminum siding around each window.
