About us

We are a boutique style residential cleaning and home management company. We currently have only 4 employees and do not use sub-contractors. We are licensed in Duval county, and we have general liability insurance and current background checks. You can see our documentation by visiting our web site and clicking on the links in the FAQs. We offer an all Natural or a Green Cleaning package for the environmentally conscious person. We like to support our local economy so we buy all of our products and equipment right here in Jacksonville even though the Internet might be cheaper. We use high quality, commercial grade equipment and supplies. One thing that sets us apart is that we clean no more than two houses per day. Many times we will only clean one. While we work efficiently, we do not want to hurry and take short cuts in our cleaning. If a technician cleans more than 2 houses, by the 3rd one they are often tired and the quality of the clean may suffer. We give free estimates but will try to ball park an estimate on the phone if needed. We also give back to our community by volunteering in schools, volunteering with Veteran's groups and donating blood regularly. We are strong advocates of our environment so we promote recycling and re-purposing wherever we can. One of our special add on services is properly disposing of your eWaste or other hazardous household waste. We have local references whose names and numbers we don't publish but can provide you with if you contact us.

Our clients like us because we are very flexible with scheduling and we have good communication and customer service skills. We offer one time cleaning, bi-weekly, tri-weekly, monthly and as needed. We can accommodate some weekend cleaning with enough notice. All of our cleaners are very dog and cat friendly. We will tailor the clean to meet your budget if possible.

We employed Meri and her team for nearly a year. It all began wonderfully, but a few hiccups led to a few blunders. The first odd situation occurred in the middle of our relationship when Meri let me know that her son was ill and would be missing school and tagging along with her for the day. I wasn't thrilled about having a sick child in our home, but I understand that childcare isn't always easy to find. That day, I arrived home and her teenage son (very much to my surprise) was there, "helping" her clean. Meri billed us for two cleaners that day (about $250, almost double the amount we usually pay. I was so baffled, and I didn't know how to bring up the fact that this was probably not right, and certainly a bit unprofessional. I later shrugged it off. Meri began sending Sonia to clean our home a few months ago. Sonia is AMAZING. We adore her. We were thrilled with her attention to detail. During the summer, Sonia spent some time away vacationing, and Meri took over for her while she was gone. There was such a significant difference between Meri's work and Sonia's work. Meri's work left a LOT to be desired, especially after we'd been spoiled with Sonia. But, we decided to hang in there for Sonia's return. Finally, after biting my tongue for several weeks, I decided to say something to Meri. She had left our home after cleaning for only three hours, when we always pay for four hours. It was as if no had cleaned at all. The kitchen countertops weren't even wiped off. Neither of the bathrooms had been touched. Nothing felt clean. This was the day before we left town for Thanksgiving, and it created a whole evening of housework for me to catch up on for our friends who would be caring for our animals while we were gone. So, I texted Meri. This is what I said. "Hi, Meri. There seems to be a few things left undone. Neither bathroom is clean, the stairs are dirty, and the sofa covers were not put on the sofas, and there is quite a bit of dust on shelves. You also only cleaned for three hours, but the check was written for four hours. I’m a bit disappointed. This adds more work for me this evening." Meri was, apparently, so offended by my text message that the following week we received a letter stating that A Well Kept Home could no longer service us because we are "too far away." I'm not even sure if I could call this unprofessional. Spineless, perhaps? Evading responsibility? We're disappointed that we'll no longer have Sonia, but, frankly, we're relieved that we no longer need to fret about overpaying ($37 per hour plus gratuity) for subpar cleaning by Meri. If you do choose to hire this business, we HIGHLY recommend Sonia. She is FANTASTIC. Ask for Sonia!

I made an appointment with the owner on Thursday for the following Monday morning. I asked it it were possible to do a whole house cleaning from 9-2pm she said she would be here at 9am. I texted her at 920 to see if i was still on the schedule and she returned a text telling me that she changed my appointment to an afternoon one because one of her workers timing belt went out and had to be brought to her appointments. I told her that would not be good for me because I had to leave at 2pm and that wouldn't be enough time for a whole house deep clean. she replied " so you have to be there the whole time were working?" I wanted to say yes because I have no idea who you people are and unless I've worked with you for a time I wouldn't trust anyone alone in my home, but instead I tried to call her on the phone and she did not answer...i gave it a few minutes and she didn't return my call so I texted that I would prefer to talk on the phone because it is more efficient. To which she replied that her doctor told her not to turn her phone on because she has cancer. I don't know this woman and she may very well have cancer and to that I am sorry to hear it, but to lie to me about answering a business pone call in such a blatantly ignorant way was extremely insulting to me and a huge deflation of her own reputation. If someone has scheduling issues that is one thing I would have liked a heads up message or call BEFORE the scheduled time since I drove 45 minutes back to my house to meet her from my daughters school at the beaches. Speak your truth and all will be well. I will NOT be using this company and I am very disappointed because this is the first time I used a company because of ANGIE'S LIST. It is so hard to find a decent and reliable cleaning company and I had planned on a consistent and significant budget for this so she really missed out on a consistent 300-400 a month...I even wanted to talk to her about helping with reorganizing my whole house...

I put off responding to this review because I did not know what to say. I am sorry you had a negative experience with our company and for any cleaning company. I try to elevate our status as professionals wherever I can and I am sorry I let you down in any way. In July you had contacted us about cleaning and canceled at the last minute due to your aging pet being sick or dying. Much later you called to schedule this appointment you refer to in your review. I did have you scheduled for a morning cleaning. Early that morning the lead cleaner’s timing belt broke. I am sorry it was the day you were scheduled but it could happen any day to any of us. Her car is 15 years old and while paid for, it does have mechanical issues that cannot be predicted. I would have driven her myself that morning but I was getting my radiation treatment. For the cancer that I really did have. The proof being that on the day you called I had NO breasts, NO hair, NO eyebrows or eyelashes, NO fingernails and hopefully no cancer. None of us at this company have the gall to manufacture stories to get out of work. We all need to work and want to work. We are in fact, honest and ethical people. Which in part is why we are so small as a company. We are selective. In life and as an employer, I have come to realize that stuff happens. Children develop fevers unexpectedly, cars break down, we get locked out of houses, meetings run late, our boss asks for something extra that morning, your trousers ripped while getting in the car. We sometimes lock ourselves out of our cars, we have flat tires or we get the flu, we have car accidents, our own pets get sick and need medical care, the vacuum cleaner quits working. Once the client we were cleaning for had a stroke and we took him to the hospital! Another time at Amelia Island a drunk man backed his yacht into my van pinning me between the yacht and an oak tree. We had no cell service in that area. It was not a good day. But I know that any number of things can happen that can waylay the best laid plans. In the Air Force I was taught one of the best war strategies was to “At all costs remain flexible!” As in be prepared for anything. Go with what the situation demands. I understand your anger….more than once I have fired off a snarky letter to Comcast for them missing an appointment I had to get my TV service working! In retrospect I was ashamed because let’s face it, it’s just television. I can live without it for years if I have to. My New Year’s resolution last year was to write nice letters complimenting the person who bagged my groceries or the garbage men who picked up junk that I had not piled properly. We did offer to clean for you that morning. We were going to be late but we could have been there. I had two cleaners prepared to come clean as we had not seen your house so we had no idea what we were getting into. We are licensed and insured. You say you don’t anything about us but we have a strong web presence. We have reviews on Angie’s List and Yelp and Google and Facebook. You can check us out with the Better Business Bureau. We are not just a person off the street or Craigslist. I [Member Name Removed] even give you the copy of a cleaners background check at times. Sometimes I post it when I am caught up on keeping the website updated. As much as you might worry about who is cleaning for you, as the owner, I worry about who is in the house with the cleaners! I don’t want them to be subjected to patronizing comments or outlandish requests! The whole trust thing is a two way street. I feel certain that I can say I have been stiffed, stood up and flat out NOT paid for cleaning from more people than you have had clean your house. It is not always the cleaning staff that is unethical or immoral or illegal. Many people have hired us only to complain so often that they never actually pay for a cleaning. As the boss lady here, I tell the staff that I am the first to come to their defense. We are historically very low on the totem pole. I have fielded many midnight calls….did you take my keys? I can’t find my red sneakers? I am missing a gift card that was on the dresser. The shower is overflowing….what did you do?? We are the first to be blamed for any number of catastrophes. If we cleaned the kitchen counter and then your husband came in and made a sandwich and did not use a plate and scattered crumbs everywhere, we [Member Name Removed] be blamed for not cleaning properly. We face this every day. So as much as you worry about is in your house, I worry about who is the client and are they mistreating my employees. I pay the cleaning staff well. About 40% more than minimum wage. And most get about 75% more than minimum wage. And I pay mileage. This is why I can’t afford an office person to take calls for me when I am busy or indisposed. I want to pay the cleaning staff very well because it is very hard work and I appreciate what they do. Angie’s List is a beneficial forum for clients to vet prospective service providers. If you have a beef with A Well Kept Home, it is no reflection on Angie’s List. I don’t like to give advice because it supports my sister’s presumption that I am a bossy know it all person……but when you call other cleaners and you complain about every past cleaning service you had, then they may be reluctant to clean for you. Few people want to walk into a very negative situation and cleaning can be or feel very personal. I do wish you the best. I am sorry again for the difficulties that morning. To recap, we did have an appointment, we were going to be late, but we were willing to come with twice the staff that was planned. I hope you [Member Name Removed] continue to use Angie’s List as a source of providers as I think they do way better than Google or Yelp or Facebook. Good luck to you and no hard feelings. We have all had those days where nothing seemed to go right! I hope today you get a day that does go well though.

I scheduled this service because we were having an open house for potential renters. After some back and forth communication, we scheduled a date. I was out of town when the service was provided so I can't directly comment on the person who came. My husband got her started and then had to go to work so she worked without supervision. She told my husband it would take 2 1/2 hours for her to finish. Overall, the cleaning job was poor. The floors were still dirty the next day when I arrived home. The 2 bathrooms looked like they had gotten a quick wipe down instead of a thorough cleaning. My husband did instruct her to clean the refrigerator and she left one door completely untouched. She did no dusting. I admit that she may have done a better job if I had left her a detailed list of instructions, but I think a "professional" cleaner could have made better use of the time. Because my husband had to leave, he paid her in advance. We aren't even sure if she stayed and worked the full 2 1/2 hours. We ended up having someone else come in and clean the morning of the open house. I was so disappointed. When I saw the great reviews, I thought we had found the right service. We cannot recommend them.

Ouch! I am sorry we fell short on this job but I do appreciate your honesty. One issue we had is that we had no phone number for you and it made it difficult to communicate as much as we would have liked. I prefer to text some information because then I have a record of what you asked for or the price we agreed on or whatever. But in your case, we had no phone number at all and all our communication was through Angie's List. Because we are not the least expensive cleaning service we often try to work with clients and stay within a budget they are comfortable with. We were under the impression that you were the tenant living there and you were trying to get it clean enough for your landlord. As a renter, I assumed you would be wanting to keep the price as low as possible and that is why we spent less time in the home. The cleaning technician said she saw boxes in rooms and was unsure whether she should move them to clean under them and again, just how long we should spend. But since we had no phone number for either you or your husband, we had no way to contact you to clarify the scope of the work. While we do not need a detailed list on every clean, many clients will say...I can only afford 3 hours and here are the priorities I'd like covered in the 3 hours. In that way, a list is helpful to us. Also, if you would have let me know you were not happy when you came home, I would have personally come out the next morning to re-clean. I did not get an email, a note through Angie's List or a phone call or text about your dissatisfaction. Every house and client is different and that is why good communication between us is helpful--especially with new clients. For example, we prefer to pull all the appliances away from the walls and clean under and around them. But it will add at least 30 minutes to the clean. We also will clean interior windows but that can add hours and greatly increase the price of the clean. We like to clean ovens and take apart the interior of the fridge to clean it properly but again, it will add at least a full hour to a job for those two appliances. I am sorry I was not more assertive with you about the need for a cell number but I do know I had asked you for one through Angie's List Message Center. As for the refrigerator door we have no excuse. Sometimes stainless steel is very finicky and will not come clean if it has water or other stains on it. Without having seen it I cannot say but I am sorry we did not meet your expectations. If you want to try us again, I will discount the cleaning to make up for this job and I don't think you would be disappointed. All I ask is that you provide me with your cell number and we will start fresh if you are willing.

Communication with Meri and Inna's cleaning were both professional and worth every penny.
Description of Work: Inna did an amazing job with our move-in clean! She paid close attention to appliances, baseboards, bathrooms, and all the other little details. She was very efficient and actually finished before the time amount we had discussed (and also adjusted the price). I look forward to having her come out when we move everything in!

I am remiss in responding more quickly but I have talked to you several times since the review. Cari, the cleaner that works in your home is extremely reliable. She has never missed a day of scheduled work and never once called in sick or with a broken down car. When I think of things I am thankful for...the garbage men, electricity, running water, furry dogs...I am thankful for Cari! Cleaning services that are exceptional are often valued more than some you might find elsewhere. We are licensed and insured. And we are reliable. We use high quality products and equipment. The cleaners are paid well so they are happy and not disgruntled. We try to schedule with a lot of flexibility to keep you satisfied. I am glad things have been working out as you as we like cleaning for you. I want you to feel comfortable calling me anytime you feel something has been missed or overlooked. Meri is very pleasant and extremely responsive. this team excels in this aspect. yes, it was pretty much exclusively through texts, but that works for me. I also liked that they came without fail on the agreed upon date for an entire year. they did not always come in the expected timeframe but oh well. not too big of a deal to me. where i had some issues was the quality of the clean. I know they tried, but there is probably a competency gap. the shower was often dirty after their visits so I would clean it myself. I pointed out the areas that needed more attention multiple times and left notes almost every time on what cleaning supplies to use. only twice in a year was the job done well. when I would clean after they left, it was super easy to get the stuff off, so it can't be that challenging. maybe just a different standard. they also did not do a great job of cleaning my end table. I specifically asked for them to give it extra attention once and it was still dirty afterwards. I think they did a good job with the base boards most of the time and they cleaned the floor better than other groups I have used. something else they did which I found exceptional was clean up the dust from the upstairs stairway shelf. if the same person came to clean every time, I think it could have been a bettere result. there were 2 occasions in which I was truly satisfied, so there is variance across the people that clean. if you want an almost good enough clean from a team that comes generally when expected, this is the team for you. also, from what I can tell, meri treats her employees pretty well which is important to me.

Thank you [removed member name] for your honesty. I know I failed in a couple of ways. I should have stuck to my guns about using my own cleaning products and I should have spoken up about what I feel was more "restoration" than cleaning. Your tile does not seem like it has a consistent seal on it and I should have recommended and explained that sealant is necessary to maintain a clean appearance. One reason I don't use bleach products is that is wears away and is corrosive to sealants. And you use a shampoo that has a dark tint to it. If you are using this dark tinted shampoo every day, then the two days a month we clean, we are not going to be able to repair the damage, especially if your tile is lacking a good sealant. Tile is porous and absorbs the tint and moisture and cleaning twice a month won't really repair the damage done. I failed in that I did not come right out and say this to you as I was reluctant to offend you. Your home is newer, but your shower grout is already missing in places and it is indicative of a substandard building job. It makes it much harder to keep nice and clean from the start. I think I failed my staff too in that I did not come to their defense. In the cleaning industry we say "we clean, not restore" and I did not ever explain that to you as a new customer. The staff does try and I always told them...remember Patricia always leaves a note about the shower so please please please pay attention to the shower! Another way I failed is not budgeting enough time. I think two hours was simply not enough for a home with a young child and a pet. An extra half hour would have made a big difference in our ability to attend to more details. You know what young people say when they break up is...oh, it's not you, it's me! Well, it's me! And I do apologize. I know I have learned from this experience and hope to transfer that knowledge to be able to provide customers with a greater level of satisfaction. I am sorry we were not up to your expectations and I will send you a gift card as a way of extending the olive branch to you! Thanks and good luck in your new home and job.

Kirsten did a phenomenal job. We are going to have them back bi-weekly. She is truly a professional, as I couldn't do that much cleaning in the same amount of time if I wanted to. She is great at multitasking, and left everything smelling great and extremely clean. Also, I didn't have any problems with things moved around in places I didn't want them. The owner, Meri, gave us our original estimate and with how kind she was I immediately felt comfortable letting them into my home. They do a great job, and you won't be disappointed. If for some reason things change in the future with my bi-weekly cleaning I'll update my review, but I don't imagine there being a problem.

Cheryl at A Well Kept Home has been cleaning my condo for the past few months. The first service was a deep cleaning and after every subsequent cleaning my condo looks just as good as the first! They are far superior to the service I used prior to them, in fact, I am picky and in the few months that Cheryl has been cleaning my condo, I haven't found anything that she's missed. I agree with another reviewer, I hope nothing changes. I'm extremely happy with the services from A Well Kept Home! It is best to communicate with Meri via text message. She is very responsive and very easy going so I have no issues with this.

At my first real job and my first Air Force job I was a new college graduate and I outranked all of the members of the staff except my boss, Lt. Col. James Johnson. Even worse, they were all men and I was a girl fresh out of college. When we worked on investigations some came to be covered in the media and in Washington DC where there were hearings about our cases. It was never my nature to head for center stage but if I found myself there, I never took credit for what our team had accomplished. To me is was just lying and exaggerating and Lt. Col. Johnson made sure I knew it was best to give credit where credit was due. And so it is with cleaning. Cheryl and all the other cleaners work really hard, take the job seriously and give 100% all the time. And I have to say, it's much harder to give 100% when some people view your job as low class or meaningless. To us, it is not. We believe you want to come home to a clean and neat home and we try to make sure that happens. We feel we are providing more than just a clean home but also some peace of mind in the process. I take no credit for the awesome job that Cheryl does at your home. It's Cheryl. It's her nature and I know that in the future this aspect of her character will pay off in much greater ways. Very unprofessional in many areas: Change of price, change in amount of time and number of people offered for the job, very unprofessional in manner of communication (Owner would only communicate by text and only text, even after requesting direct phone calls) Texts would be sent to me by owner always wanting to change the appt. times. Owner would also text to say her employee was delayed for some reason, and the person did not show for over 2 hours later. Originally, owner Meri West first came to my home to give me an estimate on regular general housecleaning. The estimate price was $95.00 and she said that 2 people would come to clean the house as a team. My house is about 1900 sq. ft. and I only wanted 2 of the 3 bedrooms cleaned along with the rest of the house. Both my kitchen and my guest bath had just been renovated and were close to being brand new (so not difficult to clean at all). First cleaning was $115.00, not the estimated price given. I didn't hesitate to pay it and also gave the 2 people each a $15 tip. I'm very flexible (which Meri said she appreciated) and am also a good tipper. I usually don't complain, but the last time Meri only sent 1 co-worker and was supposed to be here by 11am but did not make it until 2:10 pm. I was OK with that because I really needed the job done and she did not leave until close to six. I felt for her doing the job all by herself, tipped her and she went on her way. After looking around after she had left, I noticed my fireplace mantel was not even touched at all, my master bedroom headboard was not touched, no vacuuming was done under 2 dressers in master bedroom, metal headboard of queen bed in guest room not touched, and no cleaning of the new guest bath tub was done either (it may have been wiped, but certainly not cleaned). So I was not happy and tried to speak to Meri the owner about this but did not receive a phone call back because she does not call directly, she only wants to text. Each text said she would try to contact me the following day which never happened. I went out of town and when I got back 2 weeks later, I called to schedule another cleaning, but wanted to speak to her first about these issues so she would be aware of them as we still had not spoken directly. Needless to say, I was only sent texts in response to my calls. I had no other choice but to discuss the issues through texts which I did not like at all. The end result was for Meri West, the owner of this cleaning company, to basically tell me that my job was too small for her big company, and it wasn't worth it to her to keep me as a customer. She stated in her final text to me that she "only sends two people to do a job that's 5000 sqr ft or larger due to her having to pay travel time and mileage". My only question to Meri West is, if my job is such a short/small job, why wasn't her 1 co-worker able to get the complete job done when she was here last time for close to 4 hours? Was it possibly bad time management on her part or maybe just not trained very well by Meri West who claims to have very high standards in all aspects of the job?? Again needless to say, I will not be recommending Meri West's cleaning company to anyone. I also have all the texts to back up the above claims I have made. Thank-you.

I am sorry we fell short of your expectations. There was a change in price because I bid the job for a regular cleaning every 4 weeks and that was not happening due to your being out of town. The more time that goes by in between cleanings the more time it takes, the more it costs. Even though your kitchen is newer, you do have a large dog in the home and the spots on the floor where the dog drips water are time consuming to wipe up after. We found we couldn't just mop but had to hand wipe every single drip to get the floor clean. I never send out teams of cleaners but many times the first clean I will clean with the staff to ensure they know what is expected and so that I can see them in action and make sure we are all on the same page. I tell new clients that I send out individual cleaners because I find it's the most efficient way for us to clean. I pay the cleaners for their travel time and mileage and paying two cleaners to go clean a fairly small home is just not cost effective and if I were to do that, I'd have to significantly increase the price. I prefer to send out individual cleaners because there is no question about who was responsible for what and there is no confusion about who did what or who was responsible for what. It just makes sense to me. I do accept calls when I can but because we are a small business, I am often busy cleaning and it's difficult to accept calls while I am being paid to clean. That means my free time to talk if often after 8:00 pm at night or before 7:00 am. I do prefer texting because it ensures a certain amount of privacy and I don't have to rely on note taking to see what I said or what someone asked for. A text is a very convenient and private venue for a busy person. Because we had no firm schedule for cleaning it did change which cleaner was available and how much time it would take. It is best for us to be able to project our schedule at least a week in advance as we are a very small company and most of us are mothers of young children. This client was frequently traveling out of town and out of the country and it made contact problematic. This client wanted me to send two cleaners to her house for 1.5 hours each clean. I explained that I pay them for travel time and mileage and I pay them more than double the state minimum wage and sending two cleaners for such a small job was just not cost effective. It was twice the cost for travel and mileage and not something a prudent business owner would agree to. Clearly anyone who knows me knows that I am not motivated by money. I am not a profit seeking person but I do have to make a small amount of income on jobs or else I will be standing in line for welfare and my house will be foreclosed on. I pride myself on paying my cleaners a living wage. A good living wage. And I offer excellent working conditions that are conducive to a family life. We are not a large, impersonal company capable of providing round the clock customer service. We have no secretary or office staff at all and that way we are able to keep our prices lower. The reason my staff was at your house for 4 hours instead of the estimated 3 hours was that it had been 8 weeks since your last cleaning. That means it is essentially an "inital clean" all over again and yes, those take more time and cost more. I don't believe I charged for you for the additional time my staff took in spite of the amount of time that had lapsed in between cleanings. I don't consider it "bad time management" as I sent the cleaner there to do the job, no matter what and I paid them for whatever time it took, regardless of what you paid us for. In the end I do again apologize for it not being a good fit and that we were not able to be more responsive to your cleaning needs. I think a larger company with more staff available at short notice would be a better fit. I appreciate your honest feedback as it helps us learn what we need to do differently and how we can improve our service.

There were exceptions with some of the areas in the job, but Meri responded beautifully. It seems, a recently hired employee, was the problem. Meri sent Val to redo the the problem areas (at my convenience). She nor the job could have been better

Meri's team does a great job. She is very responsive and flexible with appointment times and days. The one time the cleaning was not up to par, she immediately offered to come over and fix it herself or take 15% of the fee.

I just realized I forgot to give her a review. So, here it is. Last fall, I was suffering from hip degeneration and was totally unable to do any deep cleaning, myself. I had guests coming, and the floors were the main thing I couldn't do myself. They looked so dull and gummy. I think they are white or red oak, and are almost 100 years old. So, I found Meri in Anji's List. Because the floors are so old, I figured they really wouldn't look much better because I couldn't afford to spend a fortune with a floor refinishing service. (You know how it is, I just wanted to know it was clean even though nobody else could probably tell the difference. ) Meri was very pleasnt. She wanted to use some sort of product I'd never heard of. I thought sure, knock yourself out. Just get em clean. As I recall, she only charged about $100. I left the house for only a couple of hours while she did them. Then she said not to walk on them for a couple of hours. When they dried, they were gorgeous!! A soft glow, not overly shiny, but really rich and soft. I was also nervous that anything that looked that good at first would not hold up and also that the product might ruin the floors over time. (you get what you pay for, they say) But it has been about eight months. since she did them. I hardly ever vacuum them and I never use any product to clean them. They still look perfect! The only reason I need to call her again is that I spilled a ton of bug spray in the hall and it ate right through the finish. (Yikes!) So, I'm hoping she'll work her miracle again. Well, I know you think I"m a relative or that she paid me to say all this. I'm always suspicious of glowing reviews! I promise, she probably doesn't even remember who I am! I don't know anything about her other cleaning services or her employees, but I imagine she does an excellent job on everything she does. I can definitely recommend Meri for an inexpensive spruce up for old, neglected hardwood floors. By the way, she also included mopping the kitchen and bathroom and sweeping the large front porch and back deck in that great price!

Although Meri and I have decided to part ways, I will say that the cleaning services provided were well done. Her staff is very professional and have always done a thorough cleaning and I have always trusted them in my home. I have decided that I require better communication, ie., over the phone follow up versus strictly communicating with Meri via phone texting. Also, its important to me to have a more personal, homey feel as I prefer to have the same person coming to my house each week and do not care to pay the $50.00 up-charge for that service. As I discussed with Meri, I believe I need a housekeeper, not a cleaning service, so its me, not her. Meri and her staff are really hard workers and even though I have decided not to use her company any more, I would recommend her company if you are looking for a house cleaning service.

MEri and her group did a great job. They came in a cleaned the entire house, made the beds, and got everything together before I got home from work. What a great feeling to come home to a clean house after a long day at the office ! Bathrooms were clean, wood floors mopped, kitchen floors mopped and kitchen clean. Everything smelled great ! I think I had my squirrel for only two days when I met you and you gave solid advice about feeding and caring for it. The tip about feeding it a sweet potato was right on. I confess, I later tasted acorns myself just to see what it was like and it's very similar to a sweet potato! But as a kid, I also tasted dog and cat food to see what they were going through. Thanks for the report. I try to be upfront with clients and potential clients that I am "not the cheapest cleaning service." I know you can finder cheaper cleaners but I am far lower than the industry standard and definitely lower than some of the larger, more well known franchises. But it's not about money. I like providing a good service for a fair price. I pay the cleaning staff really well as I have personally lived off a cleaning wage and it can be difficult. Most of us have children and have to also pay for day care while we clean. It's hard to do that on minimum wage. I used to give discounts to Angie's List members but then my Angie's List representative told me that it looked like I could be soliciting favorable reviews if I did that so I stopped. Any review you see here is authentic. I don't ask for them and what you see is what you get. I do hope your cleaning situation is working out well and I appreciate your comments.

We hired A Well Kept Home to clean the kitchen and bathrooms in our primary home and she was in & out in about an hour and a half with excellent results. Our second residence which is occupied by my elderly father in law was also cleaned on the same day. This was a more thorough cleaning of the entire house and was also performed quickly and efficiently. Meri and her assistants are very professional and efficient. They work quickly and thoroughly and do an excellent job. Meri is very easy to communicate with; most of our communications were via text and she always responded quickly. She is flexible and accommodating with scheduling and very easy to work with. We will be using them on a regular basis to supplement our housecleaning. Highly recommended!!

I have to say that honest feedback is really valuable and I appreciate yours and others comments in that way. It's a little unnerving to have it all so public but I completely understand it from your point of view. I learned about Angie's List from hiring handymen from their site so I get it. I am trying to get better at delegating some of the cleaning so that I can be more responsive to clients calls and texting. The staff I have cleans just as good as I do and I am finally trusting them to venture out on their own! As for your other house with your father in law...it's a cake walk. Really. He is very congenial and willing to accept that he needs some help so it's really easy. I think you and I texted about this but I like or love helping our elderly or other vulnerable folks because I so dread the time when I am not able to do my own cleaning! I hope that by helping others now and doing it in a considerate way earns me some good karma later on in my life! I can envision myself being bed ridden and thinking...geez, I wish someone would just vacuum this floor or clean the blinds! I know it's probably completely irrational but I want to check out of this world in a very clean house! Even if I can't do it myself. So rest assured that I will help take care of your father in law because he is willing to accept help and very pleasant to be around.
