Rob and his team are fantastic. He has done 2 full roof replacements for me in the past year, on a rental property and then my primary home. Both times I reached out to Rob, he was there the next day to do his inspection and each hail claim was covered by my insurance companies. I had several quotes from other well know roofers. Don't ever go with the cheapest roof, but Rob was not far off and his warranty is second to none. Communication and clean up were great. He also performed another inspection for me on a potential purchase free of charge, that saved thousands on a home that was in disrepair. Any future roofing needs I have will use K and D. Thanks! I was referred to K & D Roofing by a coworker after Hurricane Matthew damaged my roof. Rob Hile, owner, came out and using high tech equipment, determined that I would need a new roof for my house and detached garage. Additional damage was also done, both upstairs and downstairs, to the ceilings in several rooms of the house. Rob’s crew removed all of my roof’s shingles and plywood and made necessary repairs to other damaged wood and the ceilings. The crew he used was very professional and hardworking, starting by 0700 and finishing each day at 1900, with a 45 minute lunch break. They were all very courteous, non-smoking, non-radio playing individuals who never took breaks. Their families even brought us a homemade breakfast on Saturday morning. Additionally, my insurance company (Allstate) contacted me and began questioning the cost of the repairs. I know NOTHING about roofing and immediately contacted Rob. He told me the game had begun, and negotiated with the insurance company for the payment with no issues. I would recommend K & D Roofing to anyone, and have recommend them to several friends since my repairs. Extremely knowledgeable, reliable, trustworthy, efficient and all around good people. We called 3 companies from Angie's List and received two different quotes. K & D was very professional and provided details before the decision was made. The available pictures and information made our decision easier. We were in desperate need for a new chimney cap. We were very impressed with the communication and attention for our project. Unfortunately, we had heavy rains and the weather didn't help from the date of measurement to the date of installation. K & D did their best to speed up the delivery of the cap and install it. The workers suffered a long day of installation through heavy downpours, thunder and lightening. I know they went above and beyond to finish that day. The crew was extremely considerate with every part of the installation. We haven't experienced any leaks since that day. I recommend K & D Roofing & Construction Company, Inc. We will call them when needed for future repairs.

They did my roof and screwed up my sky lights and damaged the rain drip and never offered to repair it and left the stickers on the sky lights!

A RECENT HOUSE INSPECTION OCCURRED BECAUSE THE HOUSE WAS PUT UP FOR SALE. THE INSPECTOR HIT THE ROOF WITH SEVERAL DISCREPANCIES SO I HAD K&D COME OUT AND CHECK IT OUT FOR ME. THE SAME PROBJECT MANAGER THAT INSTALLED THE ROOF CAME OUT AND NOTED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE ROOF. THEY WERE ALSO ABLE TO SEND ME A GREAT LETTER FOR FUTURE REFERENCE STATING THE ROOF WAS IN SOUND CONDITION AND THAT THERE WAS STILL SIX YEARS LEFT ON A TRANSFERABLE CONTRACT. THE LIFE OF THE ROOF IS 25 YEARS. I CAN'T EXPRESS HOW THIS ASSISTED....THE HOUSE IS STILL FOR SALE BUT ANOTHER STEP CLOSER TO BEING SOLD. THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL YOU ASSISTANCE.

It went well until the crew punctured my a/c line and caused all of the freon to come out. The owner dismissed that it was any of his responsibility at all to look for any potential harm that could have been done or to ask me to do that myself. Said it was not cost effective for them to look in the attic. I was fully responsible to repair and replace all freon lost. This was poor business practices and negligence. Never left a copy of the CORRECT checklist to go over. Would not recommend them to anyone. For someone who has been in business for over 15 years, they had to know that this would have occurred if they had taken a minute to look. y

Was only a rood repair so it was hard to find a roofer willing to do this. This company was great. Fast service. On time. Showed up when they said they would. Owner came out and inspected work prior to payment.

They did cancelled and did not return calls to reschedule- they also wanted info on my my insurance company without even looking at roof

After calling 6 companies, Rob's company was ONE of only 2 that even returned my call!!! K & D has a mid-western work ethic which is hard to find these days. Rob, and his crew, were professional, value added, prompt, HONEST, and a fair price for the work performed. I will recommend K & D to my friends and utilize their service again. Thank you Rob!!!

When work order was signed the date was set as Monday April 10th. When April 10th arrived no trucks showed up that morning. I called the KandD phone number and left a voice mail. Later that day I received a return call that said they were sorry and moved the date to April 17th, one week delay. Then on Thursday April 13th I got another call with a new start date of April 19th. They did start on April 19th and completed everything in three days. KandD did ask for a 30% down payment which I had mailed in. The project manager Josh was very helpful and courteous.

Very good, It has been several years since my roof was replaced. No problems with the service I received.

We had something come up after that and thought they might have missed something that we should have been alerted to.

It went ok. Great at the beginning. The sales rep came out to meet with me, look at the home, pick shingles and colors. He was great. Seemed to know a lot about roofing in general and answered all of my questions. The reliability was great. He scheduled it and the crew showed up that day. As far as I can tell the roof is great. It hasn't rained or been too windy yet but I'm going to assume it will hold up just fine. The things that were not so great: The dumpster cracked the outer edge of our driveway. The driveway is old and has a few cracks on it however, not on the edge. Of course it will erode over time and get worse. The dumpster company is the one that placed it there however, I do feel K&D's project manager should be watching for these things. I believe it is their responsibility to ask the dumpster company to use a piece of plywood under it to avoid this or to have them position the dumpster on the driveway in the center- not on an edge. K&D never mentioned the crack they caused. The seller, that was still living in the home, brought it to our attention. When I mentioned it to the project manager he responded with, well your driveway is not thick enough on the edge hence the crack. Then he asked me what I thought he should do? Can you patch it, I asked. He said patching it wouldn't work. I told him, I have no idea. I'm not in construction. Can you replace a small section? Obviously, it's not reasonable to replace an entire driveway and in no way did I expect that or request that. What I did want was validation that yes they dropped the ball and that even if the fix would be marginal at best it would still be something. They did nothing. Nada. The crack is still here and yes probably worse. Additionally, they exceeded their quoted price. Why? I have no idea. The project manager took me around the entire house pointing out the work they did upon completion however, failed to mentioned any problems that they ran into or any extras needed. At this point in time I did not have the final invoice so I didn't ask about it. I K&D's defense, I never questioned the amount b/c, of course, there were multiple fires to put out during the closing of escrow and this was the least of them. Would I use them again, maybe but probably not. While I think they did a good job on the roof I question their integrity and wonder if there was a problem i.e. a leaky roof how would they respond?

Leaky porch roof was nothing more than a clogged gutter. Rob cleaned out the porch roof and gutters of leaves. K&D provides email appointment reminders. Fantastic customer service.

He explained what he thought the problem might be which was chimney related not roof related. He also said he wanted to come back on Saturday to do a test where he would spread out a tarp on the roof and spray the suspected corner of the chimney with water to see if he could recreate the leak which was allowing water to come down from the family room ceiling above the fireplace mantle. Well, he never showed on Saturday. My wife called his mobile # and office. No answer. I defended the guy by saying he was probably busy and it was simply an oversight - I would call the office Monday. We were both impressed with his knowledge and were actually ready to give him the job. We even called another roofer lined up and cancelled their estimate appointment. In fact, the reason he got an overall 'D' - instead of an 'F' - was that his knowledge bumped it up a bit. I called Monday and got no answer. I called Tuesday and spoke with someone in the office. I mentioned the missed appointment and said we wanted to line another water test up. She said someone would call me back. They never did. I called several days later and said that no one ever called me back. The same person told me that she would text Rob right away and have him call me. He never did. I called the next week and got the same story. Rather than be irate and impatient, I politely waited to see what would happen. You can guess what did though : No one called me back. Today I gave them one more chance. I called and got a fax line. Now I resort to Angie's List. Some people might not think this is such a bad thing: I wasn't cheated nor was poor work performed. But it is bad - not being responsible enough to return your business calls is pretty bad in MY book. It also gives a peak into what you might expect later on should you hire this company. If you don't want to hassle with a roofing job at my residence, then how about telling me up front? Don't waste both of our times! I was never rude nor demanding of this person. Like I said, he was going to get the work. Maybe you think my job was too small for him to fool with? No, while he was up there, he discovered hail damage from a severe hailstorm in our neighborhood a year back and our insurance company would cover it and we probably would give him the work. I also realize it is days before Christmas but this started on the 8th with absolutely NONE of our phone calls returned so, don't say you were too busy. How long does a single phone call to say, "Sorry, I cannot take on this job" take?

It went well, Rob the owner is a likable person who you can trust to do what he says; he will work with you. He even inspected the work himself after the city inspector to make sure the job was done right. r

The replacement went well and looks good. The reason why I am writing this review is because after two years, they still have not fulfilled their promised to replace the incorrect siding on my chimney. Besides another incident that was somewhat handled (with the workers, not with the work), the other problem was never handled, even after the owner came out took a look at my chimney and acknowledged that it was done improperly. He promised to get someone on it right away. I had told him I was leaving to go overseas to stay with my husband for a very extended period and I was concerned that if too much time elapsed, my house painter would not be willing to come back and repaint it at no cost. I returned after being abroad for one and half years, I returned to the same chimney (I had a housesitter). Then last month I received an invoice for payment for the entire reroof! I am at a loss as what to do, so I thought I should let others be aware.

I've used this company twice before. Same sales person. Both times the work was good, or they fixed what they did wrong. Nobody's perfect, right? But this time it was not good. Probably the worst part of this experience is that the salesman lied to me multiple times, which diminished my trust in him to the point of telling him not to step foot on my property ever again. I don't have enough time to write every detail about this experience. Here's the short version: He wanted to use chalk to fix a structural problem on my chimney - where the mortar was gone and/or failing. This isn't just a crack in the mortar. It was half gone. In his words " I'm surprised your chimney is still standing." I told him not to use calk, only use mortar. He called later and said the paint store recommended a QuikCrete product. He said it was cement in a tube. I said mortar only. He went ahead and used his new found product. When I inspected the work I saw that it was chalk with sand in it. I read about the product on-line and on the product tube. It said in plain english that it was "not for structural use." I fired him this morning, even though he wanted to fix the problem. It was clear to me he did not have a clue what he was doing. Plus all the lies. When I told him I did not want him to fix his mistake due to my lack of trust caused by all the lies and poor workmanship and that I was not going to pay for his mistakes, he cussed me out using the "F" word numerous times. I really don't like paying people that cuss me out, but the company sent an email with the revised amount due for the roof repair less the chimney repair costs and I paid it. There is more to the story but I'll save that for the owner of the company. The Jury is out on the roof repair. I'm waiting for rain, which should happen any day now.

They even ordered a piece to special specifications for our roof. They were in touch with us through every step of the process. Very professional and very reasonably priced. They have a customer for life.

I had the date set for a Friday, I think. I got a call back saying the would nit be available they had to go to a conference of something, so the date was rescheduled to a Monday. The time was set for 3 pm, I got home at 3:05 pm; I didn't remember the appointment until after 6 pm. After thinking about it, I was 5 minutes late, but I saw nothing showing that I had missed them or that they had been to my home not even a phone call. I'm not sure of the excite date of the appointment, but I did have a date that I can't say for sure if they showed up or not. They didn't call me and I didn't call them to see what happen. I didn't get angry, it was as though we forgot about each other, so I moved on. I wanted 3 estimates for my roof but 2 is okay. I am going with another company from Angie's List.
