Description of Work: I purchased the Angies List offer for DS Killian to perform a roof inspection and minor sealant repairs for $149. The timing of it coincided with a tropical storm blowing thru town so I told them I had only a teenie leak and could wait for this inspection while they serviced more critical customer needs due to the storm. A week or two later I got a call to schedule the job. David (the owner) did the inspection, his team did the sealant work and we discussed the condition of my roof. Turns out the shingle part was in great shape needing only a few touch up sealants, but the flat part of the roof was not to code. This was a big concern for me as I was putting my house on the market. So I hired DS Killian to put a new sloped, flat roof on to meet code and inspection. I was very pleased with the professionalism, advice and follow up I received on this Angies List offer from DS KillIan. I have actually hired them for 2 other jobs which I will detail under other ratings. I noticed that some folks have provided ratings that were disappointed with the responsiveness for this offer, but I felt like my inspection could and should be prioritized behind people who were having real roof leaking problems due to the tropical storm.

Description of Work: Roof inspection, inspection report, minor caulking. Service was delayed due to storms and I understand that. However, communication on scheduling was not very good.

Description of Work: I purchased a $149 voucher on Angie's LIst for a DSKillian roof inspection to include "minor repairs." I had some shingles blown off my 17-year-old roof in recent storms and was particularly interested in having these replaced. Upon inspection, DSK's roofer reported that necessary repairs were somewhat beyond the scope of their inspection voucher. Hmm. I offered an additional $100 to cover what needed to be done and it got done, including the shingles and other small fixes like resealing nail heads and ridge vents, and clearing of clogged drains. I was happy to have all this done for only $250 when I had gotten estimates as high as $450 for the shingles job alone that did not include a report such as DSK provided. The report DSK produced included many photographs and was very impressive in its scope & execution. The only problem I encounted was initial responsiveness. In the period after the July storms, it seems those who had purchased the vouchers took second-place to more urgent jobs. It took a month to get DSK to come, inspect, fix, and report on my roof. However, to be fair, my roof was not leaking and was not urgent. When they did come, I was very favorably impressed with their job and professional manner. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

Description of Work: This was to be a roof inspection to be performed on 07/24/2012 between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM. We drove down from Atlanta (365 miles) to meet them. They never showed up! We called them at 1:15 before leaving to meet up with family members. They told us they messed up and would do the inspection. We got no report from them and contacted them on 07/31/2012. They told us they did not know if the inspection was done and they would let us know. As of 08/03/2012 we have heard nothing. WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK!

Description of Work: The roof was inspected, as well as a portion of the attic where a water stain appeared. I am still awaiting the final report, but the contractor made mention of the shrubbery along the perimeter of the house; the effectiveness of the gutters; and some minor cracking at the base of some windows. He did not have the appropriate caulk to fill the cracks, but did apprise me of their existence and how to address them.

Description of Work: The services they performed did not work very well. The gutter leaks they "fixed" still leak. I think this was more of and estimate for additional services that I would pay additionally. I will point all of this out and I hope they respond fairly.

Description of Work: I called D.S. Killian on Friday, January 27, 2012 to request a date he could come by to give me an estimate on a new roof. He said Monday, January 30, around 4:00 pm would be good. On Monday, he did not call or show up. To date, I have not received a call.I'm very disappointed in his lack of professionalism. I prefer to do business with a firm that is committed to its customers.

Description of Work: Tore off and hauled away all of the old paper, shingles and vents. New flashing, vents, paper and shingles replaced the old material. Very neat job, quality work and a fair price. Estimate was almost dead on to the actual cost.
