I contracted with Joe's Carpet to install carpet in three rooms of carpet my Florida home. In hindsight this was a terrible mistake. They twice installed a carpet with noticeable flaws that had to be removed and replaced. Twice they did not match the carpet seams and the result was obvious and noticeable. They scraped the paint off the walls and bathroom vanity doors, broke ceramic tiles at the bathroom carpet transition during the install and left humps where the carpet was not stretched tight. They also lifted two thresholds when moving furniture. When we contacted the owner, Jacqueline, she denied all of this and actually screamed at us that we were too picky and we were not "happy people". We took dozens of color pics of the damage and sent them to her for review and she maintained her immature denial. No way for a business owner to do business. Since this trouble we investigated Joe's Carpet online and read many unfavorable critiques just like ours and Jacqueline's bad Better Business Bureau rating with many unresolved complaints. Learn from our mistake and steer clear of Joe's Carpet!!

Robin of New Image Tile, Inc and his helper, who do the tiling for Joe's Carpeting, did the most beautiful job of laying, matching and grouting our floors. They sealed and leveled the cement floor. Robin aligned the tile in a way that harmoniously met our existing tiles. You would really have to study the tiling to know that each tile is not unique and one of a kind. The sealing compound came amixed with the grout. We have had the tile down 1 month with all looking as new. We use a dustmop most of the time. Occasionally, we vacuum and use a steam mop. The tile is refreshing to my bare feet; it is not cold and forbidding for walking around. We are loving our choice and the artful work done. Joe's staff were helpful and let us bring tile home to make a decision.
Description of Work: We needed to replace our aged carpet and chose 20" porcelain tile for approximately 1,060 square '. This tile needed to allign well next to existing tile in our kitchen/ breakfast, laundry and bathrooms. This seemed a big challenge! Also, there were many small cracks in the 18 year old concrete beneath the carpet.

Hired them Oct 1st for a two weekend install. First weekend they were a no show after moving all of our furniture in our kitchen and pool room per their orders. Finally came November 12th. Sent two guys who put caulking half up my wall, left a closet unfinished, used white caulking thru out my oak kitchen along with creases and bubbles thru out all floor rooms. In one floor we found out the never ripped up my old tile just went over it. The office manager came to my home and pretty much had me in tears and accused me of ruining part of my own floors. Second crew they sent said they sold me cheap flooring also had a hole put in my back door. I asked for any easy install because my mother had recently passed away and I knew the holidays were going to be hard. They were much harder than I thought thanks to their lack of caring and professionalism. I also found out they are not the original owners who previosly did great work for me. Tbey kept the name and never tell you they are not the originals. Don't waste your time or money. Just look at the photos. I've posted 8 bur have at least 30 or more since they did 5 rooms.
I referred Joe's to a friend to do some tile work in her kitchen, the final work was good but the timeline and material was a problem. It took a couple weeks longer then it should have. Had to keep changing the install date because they forgot to order the tile and then told her that they ran out of that style and she had to go down and pick out a different tile which had to be ordered.
Description of Work: Have used Joes Carpet for installing carpet several times, they do a very good job with the carpet. However if you need ceramic tile work done you might want to look around, they use outside contractors for their tile work and seam to have problems coordinating the job

I bought a house in 2012 right after carpet was installed. Looked nice. However six months later the carpet started to stretch a little. I also noticed stains that would not come up. This is an Abbey carpet. I did not know there was a warranty on this carpet until Oct 2015. By this time this carpet looked like it was 20 years old. Very bad rolls from bad installation that could cause my 88 yr. old father to trip and stains that are revolting. The seller of the house was appalled and found the warranty. I called Joe's and talked with a woman who was hesitant to admit there was ever any work done. Finally after a little more questioning she admitted it was installed by Joe's but was so sorry that the labor warranty had expired just recently. However she said she would contact Abbey carpets and see about the stain warranty. In the event we could work something out she was sending someone to look at the carpet. However I found out later that the tech sent out was only going to measure to give me an estimate on a new carpet or flooring. Nothing to do with honoring their warranty. They never showed for the appt. but left a message on my phone one hour later saying they did. I was home. They never showed. Got a follow-up message saying they wanted to come back out to give me an estimate and NOT anything about the warranty. I am reporting Joe's Carpet to the attorney general. Also I contacted Abbeys Carpet and they said they have never been contacted by Joe's. Date of service above is approximate as I do not have anymore info than was provided to me by Joe's and the seller of the house.
Description of Work: Warranty issue. Will give me an estimate on new carpet.

Staff in store were friendly and helpful. Installers were on time and prepared for the job. Adjustments made on fly as garage wasn't added to contract as discussed. They were more than willing to accommodate. Was a little upset the installers let themselves in through a locked sliding door instead of waiting for my wife who was on her way to let them in.

I did like the service but the carpet stretching had to be done multiple times and just the past the warranty it needed to be done again and they wanted me to pay. They said I shouldn't have a problem and stood by their work. It still needs to be stretched in the same area just a year later. I think it was poor service and poor installation.
Description of Work: Had carpet installed in the 3 bedrooms. Needed to have one of the carpets stretched after 6 months, they came back and fixed the carpet. Very friendly and are good at their job. Would use them again when the time comes.

We had our master bedroom carpet replaced. The job was completed in a timely and professional manner. John, the owner is a pleasure to do business with. The special order carpet arrived at his warehouse and was damaged. Instead of trying to doctor up the carpet and install it, he sent it back and got a non damaged roll to install. From start to finish the service was excellent. The communication as to time and day of install was excellent too. The installer called, as agreed, 30 minutes before arrival. Great job.

Let me start out by saying, the floors look terrific. The installer, Ray, and his helper were wonderful. He was courteous, timely (once the job was started) and even worked on the weekend to complete the job on time. He definitely knew what he was doing and we were delighted to have him installing, since he had installed the floors throughout the rest of the house 2 years ago. That said, getting the installer and the correct product to the house was a chore. Our estimate was done in early May by Jon. We agreed on June 11 as the install date. It would take 3 days. Because of the anticipated dust storm for the tile removal, we also scheduled a cleaning crew to arrive the following Monday. Well...even though I called to confirm on Tuesday, the installers did not arrive until Thursday. After several phone calls to Joe's Carpet-all initiated by me- we were told the installers had to finish up another job and wouldn't be at our house until June 12. On June 12 they arrived with the incorrect wood to install. Although I thought I had been very clear with Jon that the install 2 years ago was not the wood noted on the initial estimate. A substitute supplier was necessary because of delivery issues. So after much discussion with the women at the store the correct wood was identified and ordered leading to a week delay in install and a very unhappy cleaning crew! When the installers arrived with the correct wood a week later, they were great. The house was kept much cleaner than anticipated, they arrived early and worked very hard. Unfortunately the estimate of three days was incorrect and the job required 4 days of intense labor, including a 7:30 AM arrival on Sunday. The estimate also forgot the molding for edging and we ended up with well over 1 1/2 boxes of wood. We did negotiate some allowances for the above issues, but I must say they were minimal. As a customer that has spent over $20,000 with this company in the last 2 years, I felt under valued and never received a response from Jon when I left 2 messages regarding install questions. The employees of the company were very apologetic but no similar words were heard from the management/owners. It would take a lot of discussion and agreement for us to use Joe's Carpet again.
Description of Work: We had tile removed from the den and kitchen and then replaced with engineered wood to match the rest of the living area.

We were happy with the service. We really didn't want anything too complicated and we didn't have any problems on it. When I went to the showroom they were very helpful. They took a lot of time with us and the estimate is just about what we paid, they didn't add on anything to it. So, we got what we expected and the work seemed to be fine.

Made an appointment with them on a Monday that we were going to be in Florida. He called to confirm that morning and showed up on time. He headed up the rooms and showed us some samples of rug that he had in stock, since we needed it installed quickly. We chose a carpet and he said he would call with an install date. They came on Wednesday and installed the carpet. They were a pleasure to deal with and did a great job with the install.

They were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They were easy to work with. We had to drive 25 miles to go that place. But I went there because of their ratings on Angie’s List. We also saved a lot of money over the quotes that we got locally. Their service and the quality of the product were both very good.
This is the third time I have used Joe's Carpet. The also have a location in Crystal River. Basically they are easy to deal with. They are helpful. When you go into the store there is someone to help you immediately. You don't have to hang around forever hoping someone will notice you like you do in the bigger shops. I was given a good quote. The carpet arrived when it was supposed to and was installed on time. It was an easy experience and there was no fuss.

We chose Joe's Carpet in Inverness, FL based upon the positive reviews we read on Angie's List. Annie at the Inverness store was very kind and helpful in assisting us in picking out several samples to take home and setting up an in-home measurement and estimate. While in the store, I was particularly impressed by the up-front pricing they offer. Carpet prices at Joe's are listed in plain view and include everything (priced per square yard and including pad, carpet, installation, and even tax). This was drastically different than the other places where I had shopped around, as other stores typically were sketchy about pricing. John came to our home to measure the space and provide an estimate. His measurements were accurate and fair, and he was very helpful in assisting our decision about which carpet to order. He was not at all pushy about "up-selling" and made us feel very comfortable with our selection and the installation plan. He took a down payment of half the project cost and placed the order with the mill. A couple weeks after placing our order, two men arrived to install our carpet. They determined two places in which they desired to alter the installation plan John had drafted. They gave us multiple reasons why it would be a good idea to change the direction of the carpet in one of the children's bedrooms. To their credit, they asked for our permission to make this change, which we approved based upon their rationale. We wish we wouldn't have allowed this deviation, as the direction of the carpet matters in terms of how visible the seam is at at the doorway where the bedroom meets the hallway (our mistake in allowing them to do this). The second deviation from John's plan was in the transition from our kitchen to the family room. This area is easily the heaviest traffic area of our home, as one must go through this walkway to access about half of the house. The installers determined that a Z-bar would not be necessary in this area where the carpet would meet our existing tiled kitchen floor (originally in John's plan). We repeatedly asked about this important transition area and the need for the Z-bar, because this area had worn the most in our old carpet over the last 10 years; however, the installers insisted the Z-bar would be neither necessary nor helpful in alleviating any wear and tear problems at this location (contrary to what we were told during the measuring stage). After the installation was complete, we examined the carpet at the transition from the tile floor to the carpet and found that the carpet had been cut too short and it was fraying at the edge almost instantly. Additionally, an area of the carpet had been cut poorly at a seam and was coming apart. Keith from the store called that afternoon to check on the installation, and we told him about our concerns. He reassured us that the installers would return to fix the problems. Because the installers appeared to be part of the problem, we requested that John (who had originally measured our space and drafted the installation plan) come and see our concerns in person. John came and looked at the concerns we had with the installation. He confirmed that a repair would be needed where the seam had been ripped and said he'd get back to us about what to do about the carpet edge where it meets the tile (cut too short and no Z-bar used). Several days passed and eventually we called the store to find out the plan to fix our carpet. Annie assured us that John would call within a day or two. When he didn't return the call, we called again, and again asked for John to return the call. A couple days later, Keith called to set up the repair. He did not know what "the plan" for the repair was, but we set up a window of possible days for the installers to return and fix any problems. Keith told us that John would call back to let us know what to expect for the repairs. As the time for the repair neared, we called again to find out how they planned to fix the problem. We spoke to Keith, who again said either he or John would call back with more details. A specific day and time was set for the repairs to occur, but we never got a follow up call to obtain the details of how the carpet - originally cut too short - could be fixed. The installers who came this time were different than the first two, so we felt reassured that the fix would be okay (even though we never heard back from John or Keith about what the repair would entail). A patch of carpet was added to fix the ripped seam and a Z-bar was installed to the transition area where the carpet meets tile. During this fix, the carpet was apparently stretched as much as possible, but the transition still looks pretty rough in many areas (i.e., gaps between tile and carpet and one place where carpet is just glued into a glob). The installers told us they had to use a significant amount of "latex" to fix the carpet at the transition and recommended that we "not touch" the area for 24 hours and then never vacuum the carpet 1-2 inches from the edge to avoid problems. We put area rugs over the transition area to keep it safe for the recommended 24 hours. It is now 2 days later and unfortunately we will need to have the installers back out again for a 3rd time (another area where the seam appears to be poor -- chunks of carpet would come out if we didn't cover it with another rug). I'm dreading making the call to them, since I feel like a total pest. We just want to have carpet that will last more than a few months for our $2000 investment. Overall, the people at Joe's have been friendly and have agreed to fix any problems thus far, though communication (calls returned) has been somewhat poor. The front end of this transaction went so smoothly, our only complaint is with installation. We'll update the review as soon as the next repair is complete. Update: THANK YOU to John and the installers who have come back and ripped out the carpet that was cut too short and installed a new piece that fits perfectly to our tile edge. We appreciate that Joe's Carpet stood by their product and installation and made it right! Although it was quite a long ordeal to get this carpet installed correctly, Joe's did the right thing in the end and made sure we were happy with the final product.

The guy did a real good job. He worked with me to give an estimate on the house. What I did not like was, I went to the store, they were real nice but I could not get a straight answer on prices and it was not what we wanted. For what we did buy from them, the price was competitive. We only bought half, we were going to buy a lot more from them but we could not get a straight answer on prices on other stuff. For the stuff they actually did, the carpet quality was good. They did very good as far as getting out to our house and working, it was fine.

Dear Member, I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for the great compliment and would like to apologize for not having pricing quicker for you. Unfortunately we are at the mercy of the mills and our area reps on new product pricing. Maybe we should not display the new product coming out until pricing has been released. But, we are so proud of the beautiful and exciting new products we have to offer our customers. Most are completed but, still waiting on some pricing and more full line of new products along with 630,000 already have in both stores. Deadline for pricing release is August 3, 2012. Again accept our apology and thank you for choosing Joe's Carpets on your flooring needs. Sincerely, Bobbie and Jon
