About us

In 1970 after working as a Manager and Trouble Shooter for 14 years at another Pest Control Company, J.D. Smith Sr. founded the J.D. SMITH COMPANY. Beginning in Pinellas County, Mr. Smith and his partner soon expanded their operations to cover West-Central Florida. Their offices included Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando, Polk, Citrus, Levy, Lake, Sumter and Marion counties. From a small beginning of two people, the company now employs over seventy full time trained staff members. As required by the State of Florida, each office has one or more Certified Operators. These operators are fully certified in all phases of Pest Control, administrated by the Department of Entomology of Florida. J.D. SMITH COMPANIES are incorporated under the laws of the State of Florida, fully insured, and licensed. Our satisfied customers include a number of large companies as well as small family firms and homeowners. We are members of the Florida Pest Control Association, Florida Chamber of Commerce, Better Business Bureau, and Florida Sheriff Association. J.D. SMITH COMPANIES enjoy an excellent reputation in the community as well as among our competitors.

I was not happy about the job that they did. The guy was very nice but the work was not fixed. WE had some fungus problem in our lawn which was not fixed. Based on my experience and knowledge about lawn maintenance, once you do things right and you use the right spray the grass that will grow will not have the same problem. But that was not the case with them. It’s either they used the wrong spray or they lied about what they did.
Description of Work: I used JD Smith. I have used them for lawn spraying.
