In July I called Schmitt to repair a problem with our A/C. They fixed the very same problem in October 2021. That time the total cost was $144. They came and fixed the A/C but this time the total cost was $462. That's more than a 320% increase in less than 2 years. The part, a blower module was covered under warranty in both cases. I've used them 3 times before and was happy with the results and price but this time all I can say is WOW, was I taken advantage of! I'm embarrassed to say that I have, because of my previous experience with them, recommended them to several people. NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE Schmitt, and I will try my best to talk my friends and others out of using them as well!!

Danny Schmitt jr is a scumbag with no gut he’s Teraza’s puppet. She’s got dirt on him and he’ll do anything for her so she won’t say anything very shady company. Danny Schmitt sr would be very disappointed in his son ruining the company he starts over 50 years ago.

The first winter after installation I called them and stated our rooms were very cold. A technician came out and turned up the fan speed. We let it go for awhile and finally called someone else who came out and stated that our furnace was not wired correctly. We had a 2-stage system and only the low stage was wired to work no matter what the temperature. Two of their technicians did not find the problem.

Overall AC install went well and they were very responsive. The technician I dealt with was very professional and quoted me a fair price on a good system. install time was completed in about 8 hours. My only concern is with their electrical department, which are non responsive after 3 voice messages within 2 weeks. However, on the HVAC front, I have been using them for small repairs on my old system and they have always been good.

Awful, they install the wrong size air handler, it’s a 4 ton unit, should have been a two and a half or a three ton unit, duck work in the house was sized for a 2.5 ton unit, this has caused continuous problems with that drain, because of to much static air pressure due to the unit being to big for the duck work, called every day for the past 3 weeks and nobody call me back, the problem is an easy fix, all they have to do is replace the air handler but they refuse to do it, please be aware of this company and make sure you read your contract and get a second opinion before you use this company. 12/2 they charged me twice - I called them 12 times and they have yet to return a call or return my money. The tech admitted they had my part the better part of 6 months but weren't in a hurry to fix it. Then he proceeded to charge me twice for the job. I called them 12 times, each time had to explain what happened all over again. Each time I was told, Management was at lunch, in training, or on vacation, and NOT ONCE have they called me back, and definitely have not refunded me.

Schmitt installed 2 units in our brand new house. Two years later the units are filled with mold due to faulty installation. Schmitt will not return phone calls, or take any responsibility. This family owned company of 50+ years needs to be exposed and we will do just that by notifying local media as well as litigation. Other people in our development have the same issues with zero response from Schmitt. Stay far away from this company!

Let me start saying that this is my first time giving a review on a business. I Like to give others the benefit of the dought and give them the oportunity to change their wrongdoings pacifically And I am a person that like to complain and make my complaints public. With that said, my deception with Schmitt inc has to be very bad in order to motivate me to showcase it online. Let me say that I has been a customer since 2014 and I was very happy with the company I used to recommend it to everybody. I loved their professionalism and their customer service. That is not that case any longer. Things started changing last year and the cobid Happened. Because of that many businesses are suffering so at the beginning I was not very reactive to the inconstancies. But the most recent one is this one:“ I have been trying to schedule an AC maintenance since August”. You can’t call directly the person in charge of scheduling and appt the receptionist will always take a message for the scheduler to call you back have to call you back. When they call you back if you were not available and you return their call, You will get the receptionist again who will again send a message for the scheduler to call you back. I asked to talk to a supervisor and my calls were hang up 4 times. They say they just send a message they can not do anything else after that. They change their policy even if it affects you, you cant cancel the contract They can change the contract, you can’t. They told me management was going to call me I am still waiting. This is going to be my last year with them. I would not recommend this company to anybody. They need to realize they are failing many customers and start making some changes to serve their customers who are the ones paying for The service. I am sorry to give the bad review but they haven't show to be sorry about all their inconsistencies And changes affecting their customers.

I contracted Schmitt, Inc to replace our aging HVAC system in a home we had just bought in Hudson, FL. They did not complete the installation professionally with any care and installed it with 3 separate Building Code Violations. The faulty installation has caused an extreme Toxic Mold Infestation of our entire home resulting in health complications for 4 small children under the age of 6, myself and my 22 week pregnant wife. Not only have we suffered extreme medical issues but we have also incurred extensive damage to our property and home. Schmitt has admitted it was not done correctly and to code and has refused to resolve this situation. In asking employees and Daniel K. Schmitt for their Certificate of Insurance we were denied several times. We actually reported the claim to their insurance company before they did. ( 2 weeks after they refused to resolve this amicably). They DO NOT CARRY INSURANCE TO COVER ANYTHING THEY DO AT YOUR HOME THAT MIGHT DAMAGE YOUR PROPERTY OR YOUR FAMILY. They have basic, minimal operating insurance. They are dishonest and have zero integrity or care. Daniel K. Schmitt and his prooduction manager Bobby, (from Riverview) laughed and snickered at myself and my wife as we met with them to discuss resolution. We were told "mold is a part of life in Florida", This was after our mold test showed 2.39 millions spores of Toxic mold present in the unit. Their own insurance company couldn't get them to call back. Stay away. Very bad service. Very dishonest and dangerous.

I have used this company since April 2012 and have found that the customer service has become increasingly poor over the past several years. In 2015 Schmitt replace my HVAC and I experienced some issues with the crew who did this installation. I had discussions of the problems with the HVAC service manager, Rick McClearly, who offered 3 free years of service maintenance, which I accepted. This is when the issue of poor customer service began. The main issue stems around the customer service agent, Diane. Diane is rude and has a very bad habit of interrupting me when on the phone. Diane has admitted to me that she knows she has a bad habit of interrupting people. On Thursday September 20, 2018 I called to schedule annual maintenance on my HVAC. Diane said I did not have any service left under my last service agreement and I would have to pay for the service call. I kept trying to tell Diane that that I was owed a service due to some errors on their end in scheduling, prompting her to tell me that she was trying to answer the phone and get service to someone who did not have AC when it was hot and was trying to leave for the day. Diane continued to argue that I did not have any service left under my last service agreement. I asked to speak with a manager and was blind transferred to the Customer Service Representative Atlanta Swatey and had to leave a voicemail. Atlanta returned my call on Monday September 24, 2018 as she was not in the office on Friday September 21, 2018. I explained to issue and Atlanta confirmed that within the notes on my profile in their system I was owed a service and explained my issues with Diane and that I tried to explaining that I was owed service, but Diane would not listen. I mentioned to Atlanta that I have previously spoken to her regarding Diane and relayed that people I know that use Schmitt refer to Diane as the rude one and told her that Diane admitted that she interrupts people and knows it’s a bad habit. Atlanta seemed very concerned and said she would speak to others regarding Diane. Atlanta then scheduled me for service on October 12, 2018 between 8 AM and 12 PM. On October 12 the service technician did not show up for the scheduled service. I called Schmitt at 12:03 PM and spoke to Atlanta about the no show. Atlanta admitted that it was her fault as she did not schedule the service properly and it was not put on dispatch schedule. She apologized, but I told her that was the nail in the coffin with them. She offered to send me an email about what happened and after some discussion, I told her to send me something in writing on Schmitt letterhead after she spoke with the owners. She assured me she would do that quickly. She wanted to reschedule service and I told her that they have lost my business for good. On October 19, 2018 I received a call from HVAC service manager, Rick McClearly, asking “What can we do to get past this situation we’re in.” I asked why he was calling since Atlanta said she was sending letter. He informed me the owners asked him to call. Told him they lost my business and he kept asking what they could do and I informed him that they need to tell me what they were going to do and getting free service was not something I wanted. Said I needed something in writing and he said he would talk to owners. As of October 26, 2018 no letter or call has been received. The only bright spot with Schmitt has been the people who come to do periodic service maintenance on the HVAC system. The people of who come out to do anything on the HVAC system know what they are doing.

This guy was amazing. They're big. This guy was amazing, My handy man came out and he put in a thermostat for me and he ran into problems he can do electrical but he's not an electrician per say. He thought he had it wired wrong, turned out he had it wired correctly he threw a something in the circuit in the blower. So we called up an electrician that they specializes in heating and air conditioning this guy tried to figure it over the phone for free.It was amazing, they couldn't figure it out. He couldn't figure it out by phone but he wound up coming out the next day and he fixed it. He knows his stuff. I had a coupon which they told me about so it knocked $25 bucks off. I would definitely use them again if I needed to.

Pros; Labor - service call charge was reasonable. Lance was very professional and knowledgeable. Cons; The cost of the 55/5 dual capacitor was nothing short of price gouging. AC went down overnight, called Schmitt first thing the next morning and spoke with the answering service. Was told to expect a call back after 8am, and they called back at 830. They were very helpful on the phone, and said someone would be out between 11-3. They gave me a courtesy 30 min heads up prior to the serviceman coming out. The problem turned out to be the capacitor, and it was fixed in under an hour. Serviceman was friendly and very professional.

I give a well done rating to all aspect of activities performed, ranging from sales and technical services to administration services rendered. I not only received complete answers to my question, but also received answers in a respectful and tolerant manner. The estimate was in writing and allowed for a thirty day signing period. I expressed concerns about having a new copper set installed, and assurance that the existing air duct flow was adequate to meet 5-ton HVAC system requirements. The provider included a new copper set in the contract, and gave test results indicating system air flow was adequate. The provider reported to my home with the contract and other paperwork requiring signatures, filed for the County permit and scheduled the County's inspection. This project lasted one day (approximately nine hours), and I experienced no interference with routine home activities. The provider ordered and scheduled a short return visit to install the correct heater in the air handler. The provider's staff was courteous, respectful and professional throughout the service process. Upon finishing the job, the provider completely removed old HVAC equipment, thoroughly cleaned all work areas, instructed homeowner on how to use their comfort control unit and provided a quality control inspection. I strongly commend this company's technicians for their exceptional effort in installing the new copper set. The copper set runs through the garage attic that achieve temperatures in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit during July. I think this is definitely a job most would like to avoid, but the technicians completed the job without complaint. I observed slight damage to a small section of the evaporator coil fins during installation. I reported this to the provider who noted my observation in the contract. Apparently the slight damage will have no significant impact on the performance of my new system. The delivered HVAC system works as good as it looks, and the provider was very competitive in pricing their product. I feel at ease, and look forward to having a long and satisfactory business relationship with this company.
Description of Work: The provider uninstalled and removed old HVAC equipment, and installed new HVAC equipment to include heat pump, new copper set, air handler with heater, and comfort control unit. Additionally, the provider included discounts, air handler system filter assembly, extended labor and parts warranty, and a special financing option. Also, the provider submitted all warranty paperwork on my behalf and forwarded registration copies to me.

I have never been treated so rudely or with such attitude when calling a company to request service. Our AC compressor is down and we were hoping to have it either fixed or replaced today. We have an infant and pets at home and need this issue resolved immediately as it is a hot summer day in Florida. Our request for service was scoffed at and we told "Umm NO!!! We just don't have compressors lying around!". Needless to say, we have called another service provider. They will be at our house in 15 minutes to begin addressing our issue. Don't bother with Schmitt. There are more accommodating services available who tend to the immediacy of their customer's needs and treat their customers with respect.

We stuck with them because they were the ones that put the heat and air in the house when we first got the house. They’re really good. They’re excellent people and we like working with them. We have to have them. Their price was competitive. 4.58 to 5.00.

The technician arrived as scheduled. I explained why I needed the service. He stated after evaluation, a new, larger A/C unit was needed to correct the hotspots in my home as well as some ducts were needed to be enlarged. He gave me a price which I agreed to and scheduled the install. The installation went well with the exception of getting pipe fitting glue on my fresh exterior paint job. The unit appears to work as stated, however the hotspots did not go away. I called the company to have the system looked at and the tech came back out, tested the efficiency, and discovered there was a 5 degree difference from one side of my house to the other. He stated he was too busy to correct the problem but would come back in a week to perform the corrections. After two weeks, I called the company and was told I needed to provide the previous systems diagram so they could come up with a plan to repair the problem. I was told this by the customer service manager. Eventually after two more calls a tech came out and corrected the problem. Since this system was replaced, I have had 4 service calls. My warranty has covered the calls but I have only a standard warranty since the system was not registered until after 30 days. I did not register the warranty because it took nearly 90 days to get the system to work as agreed. There are many providers of this type of service in Hernando County, Florida. I now wish I would have checked into some of the others.
