When he saw the pictures, he contacted me and said that he didn't do the type of work I wanted to have done and gave me the contact information of someone who could do the work that he had used in the past. He sent this person the pictures I had sent him so that we could connect easily. I will certainly use the Menard Group if I had any furniture refinishing I wanted to have done. I am so pleased that he took the time, even though I did not get my business.

MY SISTER-IN-LAW'S DOG CHEWED THE LEG ON THE DINING ROOM CHAIR AND IT LOOKED AWFUL. I REALLY DIDN'T THINK IT COULD BE FIXED. DAVID SAID HE COULD FIX IT AND I GAVE HIM THE CHAIR FOR REPAIR. I PICKED UP THE CHAIR AND IT LOOKS BEAUTIFUL. NO WOULD EVER KNOW HOW BAD IT LOOKED BEFORE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE THAT NEEDS SOME REPAIR WORK DONE ON THEIR FURNITURE.

+ -1 moreALL WENT VERY WELL. WE WORKED OUT A CONVENIENT DAY FOR DAVID TO PICK UP MY COMMODE . IN A FEW DAYS THE COMMODE WAS FINISHED AND DAVID RETURNED IT. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL, LIKE DAVID SAID , "GOOD FOR ANOTHER 40 YEARS." I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER, HE DOES A GREAT JOB AND IS SO FAST. HE CHARGES LESS IF YOU BRING THE FURNITURE TO HIM. THE PIECE I HAD WAS TOO HEAVY FOR ME, SO I WAS GLAD HE PICKED IT UP AND RETURNED IT. I ALSO GOT A 5% DISCOUNT FOR BEING AN ANGIE'S MEMBER.

Description of Work: Dave responded quickly to my call and came to see the furniture in question. He was able to do the work in my garage in a very short time. The repair on a wood chair is invisible now. He was not able to match the color of the painted table he also worked on but I expected that and had already planned to repaint the table anyway.

The dresser top repair did not cure as expected Dave came back redid the entire finishing process until He was satisfied with the refinishing job. I couldn't have been more pleased with his services. + -1 moreMy favorite, well only, side table served two purposes in our home. The first was to sit between my husband's chair and mine, holding a lamp, glasses, and all the things that side tables are designed for. The second purpose was invented by our 3 dachshunds, who thought it was there to shelter them, sort of like a tent with legs. Which is where the problem began - two out of the three were puppies, and thought those legs were the perfect size to chew. We didn't notice this until too late, and I almost threw the table away, they were so badly gnawed. Then I found Dakota Furniture Repair on Angie's List, and thought I'd give him a try. Less than a week later, the table looks brand new - I really don't know how he did it, but those legs are perfect! He refinished the top as well - I had spilled a bottle of nail polish remover on it, which did not help the finish. I can't say enough good things about the job he did. A big thank you from a very satisfied customer.

Owner said he would have to look at the table first to determine if he could do the repairs but felt confident he could repair the chairs. Owner arrived promptly at time of the appointment, assessed the damage and said he would be able to do the repairs. His work was excellent and done on the spot. He will be doing work for us in the near future on other needed furniture repairs not associated with the burglary damage.

+ -1 moreDavid came to my home the same day I called him, gave me an estimate for the repair and took them home with him. If it weren't for the missing piece he had to improvise, he would have had them back the next day. Even with the piece he had to carve, they were back in three days. I'm very pleased with the results, Not only is the serious break completely repaired, but the tops look great. I'm very pleased.
Description of Work: I brought home two solid wood decorative console tables, which were from my late parents' home. These tables are at least 60-70 years old, and family members in Miami no longer wanted them. One of these unusual tables had been broken by paramedics during an emergency call and had never been repaired. Just as a good deed since they were merely taking up space in my brother's house, last week I brought them home, unsure what I wanted to do with them. However, I knew the broken one needed repair. I found David on Angie's list, liked the reviews I read, and the repair price and superficial cleanup of both seemed very reasonable. Whether I kept them or tried to sell them, they deserved some tender, loving care. That's just what David gave them. When a small piece was missing from the broken one, David improvised and made and painted the small missing part. No one will notice that this table has ever been broken. Plus, he did touch-up to the tops and all scratches and superficial mess disappeared. The bottom line is that these tables look lovely, and I think they'll add some elegant touches to our living room. Now there are two gorgeous tables in my home that were in my home when I was growing up, thanks to David.

Description of Work: David repaired an heirloom solid cherry table that had been broken in transit when I moved to Florida. He did a great job with the repair, and took out the scratches and scrapes from the chairs that are a part of this set. Perhaps as important, he took the time to help me load this furniture into the back of a pickup truck in such a manner that it arrived home safe and sound. A great person, and very personable to boot!!

+ -1 moreFrom the time I first spoke to Dave on the telephone to when he examined the table, gave me an estimate at his shop and completed the job it was one week's time. Very professional...a real craftsman.
Description of Work: Dave took a family heirloom, i.e. an Italian made chess table, repaired and reinforced the legs and matched and replaced missing wood trim. He also recoated it with a clear varnish. The finished product was outstanding. The table is better than new!

We also had an antique side chair that was damaged by the movers and also needed recaning. Again, a very good job. We would highly recommend them and plan to use in the future.
