It took only 2 days for David to repair my four loose chairs, and they are sturdier than they were when they were new.

Incredibly. David Called the same day. came the next morning, we discussed the chairs and finishes. He offered advise. He kept me informed through the entire process and brought the chairs back to me 2 days later! They are gorgeous. I will definitely have David do any other refinishing I have. Wish I'd consulted Angie's List years ago for refinishing.

David is an extraordinary craftsman. Our chairs are now brand new thanks to his skills and the cost was reasonable. Turnaround time was only 5 days!

I dropped the chair off on Thursday evening and Dave said it would be ready Monday and it was. The repair was perfect, and to this day, I still cannot see where the damage was, it looks beautiful. Photos available on request.

David did an outstanding job repairing the broken leg, removing mold stains and repainting legs. He matched the paint to the existing paint and applied gilt trim such that it is difficult to discern the tables had ever been damaged. David quickly gave us an estimate based on photos we sent him and promptly started work. We weren't in a rush to get the tables back given other activities going on after the water damage, but he accomplished everything in a timely manner. We were very pleased with his service and would not hesitate to recommend him and use him in the future.

Chairs were repaired quickly. We also had an antique bench that was repaired beautifully, and is now sturdy enough to be used again!

Gentleman works from home, suggest calling ahead. I had two Italian made dining chairs that had back pieces severely cracked in move. These are high gloss finish pieces. They were promised in a week and were ready on time. I did not have much hope for the chairs but his confidence in assessing them gave me some. Unless you know where to look you will not see the repairs. Very exceptional work, fair price. Highly recommend!

Dakota did a good job. Very professional. He had to come out in 2 visits, had to put some stuff on the furniture to cure it overnight, he then came back the next day. He did a great job. I would absolutely use him again. Very professional.

They came out and gave us some really good suggestions. We decided shortly after that to move so we didn't end up doing it. He was very thorough and explained well. He wasn't pushy, just informative and knew what he was talking about. It was a verbal estimate and he told me specifically what he was going to do and how he was going to do it. If it were in writing I would give him an A.

All work went perfectly and was finished ahead of promised date. David was very courteous and professional. This was a late Christmas gift for my wife and it had to be Just Right as the set has been in her family for over 100 years. The table and chairs are now back in use and she is very happy! There is no substitute for experience, and that is what we found with David at Dakota.

Dave was able to remove the rest of the adhesive off and touch up the finish. I was delighted that he was able to repair this. He is extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with. There are people out there who try to rip you off - this guy is not one of them.

Dave did a professional job in refinishing the 2 chairs. I'm happy that the chairs are now part of my dining room set because they look great next to the mahogany table.

I looked on Angieslist and I'm so happy I found David Matherlee I made a appointment with him and felt very confident after speaking with David on the phone that he would be able to fix the damaged leg on my chaise . He came out showed up promptly and did a beautiful job , I would highly recommend David to anyone that needs any type of furniture repair ,he is the nicest man he does a great job and he has many years of experience he does all the work himself and is very reasonable with his pricing . David was very thorough, took apart the bed and made repairs that are much better than the original furniture.

We have a 40-50 year old mid-century modern rocking swivel chair that needed an arm re-attached. The screws came out and we couldn't get them to screw back in. We called David and he was very nice and professional. He determined that this was a repair he could do, but he would need to take the chair back to his shop. He said we could save some money if we could bring it to him, but that was not something we were able to do. We set up an appointment for the next day and he arrived when he said he would. He looked over the chair and said that he would fix the other arm as well as it was a little loose. He said that he would start on the repairs that day and it would take just a couple days and we would have the chair back on either Friday or Saturday, but he would call Friday, regardless. David called Friday morning to say the chair was ready and we made arrangements for him to drop it off later in the morning. He came right when he said he would and the chair looks phenomenal. He actually refinished both arms, re-attached them, and greased the bearings. This was all for the original price just to re-attach the arms. The work he did is phenomenal. The arms look like they just came off the factory floor and they are solid as a rock. David is a true craftsman and he was a pleasure to work with as well. We would definitely use him again if the need arose as well as recommend him.

Our game table sits on 4 curved legs, 3 of which were unattached from the pedestal and one of those was missing parts. David reconstructed the curved leg with the missing part and remounted all of the legs on the pedestal. He also sanded and refinished the legs and the tops of the table (inner and outer as it is a game table which unfolds). The table looks absolutely beautiful now, and we cannot tell which leg had the missing parts. He did an excellent job, and we would definitely use his services again.

Great! He arrived promptly. appraised the repair, explained what needed to be done, we discussed alternatives, he quickly retrieved some additional bolts and such, returned, tidied, vacuumed area. He was very personable, knowledgeable and did a great job. He even offered some tips regarding the repair and gave a follow-up call.

Mr. Matherlee was a pleasure to work with. He was informative and realistic about what we could expect....then delivered more. He did a wonderful job of matching colors and restoring the gorgeous lacquer finish to these unique 30 year old chairs. He also taught us how to clean lacquer properly and protect these chairs in the future. Mr. Matherlee is a gentleman, an educator and an incredible craftsman. We are very, very pleased with the outcome!

David did a remarkable job of repairing a chair that I thought was beyond hope. The top slat of our kitchen ladder back chair had broken off and David was able to attach it by countersinking nails and gluing the piece back on. He did such a good job I can not even tell that the chair had ever been broken! He also tightened the entire chair. I found him to be extremely professional and very prompt. I dropped off the chair to him and it was finished the next day! Spread the word - this man is a gem!
