Would give negative stars if possible. It was a total nightmare and we fired them! The big issues were that Larry lied to us and said we didn't need a plumbing permit when in fact we found out that we did. Several things had to be done over once and even twice because of the errors caused by careless work habits. We are experienced home renovators who were tired of doing the work ourselves so we hired Gladiator. Some of the issues were - we pointed out a pipe protrusion on a wall and told them they would need to build the wall out to allow for the pipe. They did so and it still wasn't built out far enough (but they thought it was ok) so they had to add another layer to avoid the copper pipe from being bent into the wall when the backer board went up. On a different wall they left a gap between the wall stud and the backer board that would have resulted in the tile wall being cracked when the handheld bar was tightened down. The shower pan liner was not to code. He took shortcuts and didn't want to put any waterproofing in the shower niche (a place that holds water) or on the shower walls - he was only going to do the seams only even tho the bid said waterproof the walls. The tile guy had to do all of that before he could even start his job. The plumber was a joke- he set the valves at the wrong depth (had to be re-done two more times to get it right) and the handheld was put on the opposite side - after I pointed to the location I wanted it. Then it was put too close to the wall and had to be moved again! The shower drain was installed incorrectly which resulted in it being filled with concrete that leached into it! The floor had to be jackhammered up for the repair! They told us we were difficult to work with after we had fired them - I guess it's because we know what we are doing and caught their mistakes and wanted things done right the first time! We feel sorry for the unsuspecting homeowners who use them.

They were fair priced, however the quality could have been a little better. They were very nice and attentive however. If I requested that they do something, they were quick to fix them. I would definitely recommend them to anyone else.

Gladiator Construction is a TOP NOTCH company. Earlier this year they repaired a leak through my second floor patio entryway into our garage, which had caused considerable damage, while at the same time replacing the existing patio “Pavers” with more durable Composite decking boards (total approximate cost $6000). Unfortunately and due to unforeseen circumstances, the leak continued and was very difficult to locate. Larry Gasparino, the contractor who is a “hands on supervisor”, and his very hard working crew spend many extra hours-resources on this problem, and were finally able to correct this difficult and extremely frustrating situation. Rest assured that this was not an easy issue to correct, but all his hard work finally paid off. We commend him again for his expert job knowledge, hard work and persistence. Thank you Larry and all your crew for your diligence and professionalism.

Evertpything went well except waiting for the marble countertop. The company was very busy and it took a couple of weeks to get it. But on the other hand, if a company is good at what they do they will be busy I would think. All,in all things went well.

This company is amazing. The walls look beautiful. The customer service was outstanding. They also went out of their way to help us identify the leak and resolve it. They came over several times to ensure the leak was resolved, before they started the work. They are a life savor. On top of this, their bid was the lowest. What more can you ask for? I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Looks like a new house! You have to see it to believe it! They worked with me so I could make great financial choices and get the most I could for my money!!!!!

They did a great job. They were very responsive and got back to me promptly. The price was good. They were less expensive than everybody else.

It went fine. They were responsive and they came out when they said they were gonna come out. They did a job that we haven't had any problems with so I guess that's good.

I contacted the owner in January to go over the project to install solid interior wood doors to match existing doors to my master bedroom sleeping area, to my video room and to a guest suite. We met, His office emailed the paperwork, I signed the agreement and sent back to the office.. I paid the deposit to start the project. His door guy came over to measure. They schedule the first stage of the project which was to frame with 2x4 and sheetrock the entrances where they were to install the doors. After that I waited and waited and waited until June to get my doors installed. 5 months later I got my doors. He blamed his door guy. I gave them two of my original painted doors. They took one of my extra doors I had in the garage to use it as a model and they assure me that they were going to use the two extra doors I had. They never gave me my door back. The doors came 5 months later and with the wrong design. They painted the doors and it was the wrong sheen. They made me wait two more weeks after they install the doors in June for the hardware. He apologized for his door guy but that didn't return my money or alleviated my frustration or the money I spent hiring a professional cleaning company to clean after their sheetrock dust and paint mess. He built two outdoor pergolas for the pool area and that went well. He did that back in February when I didn't know how long it was going to take for my doors. I'm disappointed and never want to do business with this company again. Update 12/7/2014 I decided to give them another chance with two small projects; 1) I called them to retile my front balcony, they removed the old tile and wood rotten decking and installed new tile and grout. It all went well on a timely manner and good craftsmanship. It looks clean and new like nothing ever happened. They gave me a reasonable quote and responded right away. I gave them a better score for their responsiveness and punctuality. 2) I called them again for a smaller job which was to replace my front door hinges and hardware. They came right away and did it fast and efficiently. After talking to Larry Several times and going back and forth communication via email and phone with the office I learned about their commitment to their customers and their service. Sometimes things get out of their hands and it happens to everybody. As a customer I have to be more flexible at understanding when a subcontractors gets involved. I will use Larry again since he proved with 4 different projects that he can deliver what he promises with the support from his office. I gave them a better rating. There is always room for improvement.

The owner Larry was awesome to work with I feel they went above and beyond. He referred me to some other contractors and his wife provided me with photos not only of there pool area but others that was very helpful. She also helped me save a lot of money with my pool tiles by putting me in contact with who they had used. I would use this company again!

Larry and Paula were recommended to us by our realtor and, from the very beginning of our dealings with them were professional, and friendly. Their crews were knowledgeable, respectful, and did excellent work. They provided all agreed upon services in exactly the time they said they would, all work was of high quality, and their prices were reasonable. Overall, it was an excellent contractor experience and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone.

After disappointing negotiations with several other contractors (pricing, no call backs etc.) I found Gladiator Construction on Angie's list and the reviews were spot on. Owners Larry and Paula were great and Colleen was always very responsive to any concerns I had. I have more work scheduled in the near future and Gladiator Construction will be handling the job. The company was fine, and there was a miscommunication and I need to follow up with the insurance company to finish the estimate.

They came out right away, and gave me estimates, and they were very good. We haven't used them because we are having an insurance issue. They were really good, I walked around the house with them, and showed them everything that was damaged, and then he went around himself, and measured everything.

We were pleased with their work. It was good. A little more communication would have helped. A lot of times, the guy sent a lot of people. Communication goes a long way but as far as the work goes, it was a pretty good work. I cannot ask for anything, it was really nice. And the construction was really nice. They did a fine job.

All work done beautifully and professionally. Workers were pleasant, friendly and experienced in their craft.

Removal and filling the hole from in ground hot tub, was done in a timely manner and at the price of the estimate. The installation of the tile, was done in the manner I requested. There were a couple of issues I addressed to the owner after completion of the installation of the tile. He remedied the problem above my expectations the very next day. My only issue, was after the instillation of the tile, I contacted the company, through e-mail, to get an estimate on installing molding around the lanai. He did respond the next day. I sent another e-mail clarifying the cost of the estimate and I never heard back. We installed the molding, since we did not hear a response. I probably should have called as a follow up. Over all very customer service oriented,. on time and other than the one instance, responds promptly. To me that is a great contractor. Yes, I would recommend this company.

They came out and diagnosed the problem. They did not charge me a thing because it requires a plumber to fix it. They did not fix the problem. They said that I needed a plumber. If I had some major work to do on the house, I would call them.

It took them about 4 weeks to complete the work. I have used them before. Larry hires the best subcontractors I have ever seen. They do what they are supposed to do. They are polite and neat. Everyone who works for him is like family. From the plumber to the electrician, everyone was great! I felt comfortable to speak my mind with them. Larry never gets upset when I change my mind or add specifics to a job. He goes with the flow and I think his prices are absolutely fair. It was absolutely worth the chaos that comes with home improvement jobs and every single penny I spent. This is a company you can feel perfectly comfortable around. I trust them in my home even when I’m not there.

After trying to hire contractors to do the job and not being called back.My brother suggested I try Angie's list.I checked the list for locals and found Gladiator Construction.I called and set an appointment with Paula.Larry showed up on time and checked what needed to be done and he would give me an estimate.Larry came back and I signed a contract to paint the house inside and out,repair ceilings,replace the coating on the garage floor,put in a new block drive way,and restore the entire terrazzo tile to it's former brilliance.Everyone of theses tasks were completed to my expectations and more.Paula worked with the bank and saved me from a lot of frustration.Her knowledge of such matters was invaluable.Larry worked with the insurance company and got me the coverage I was entitled to.Larry was at the job site every day to help and instruct his great crew on what needed to be done.Some delays occurred but were not the fault of Larry.His sub-contactors were all great craftsmen and did an exceptional job which reflected on Larry's confidence in these craftsmen.I was anxious going into this project but Larry,Paula,their great crew,and their sub-contractors put my mind at ease.I would highly recommend Gladiator Construction for any type project from new construction to cosmetic repairs and more.When Larry saw that I needed some saw to fix a few spots,he went out in the pouring rain,bought them at his own expense and helped put them in.That to me shows what type on company Larry runs.

I told Larry at his initial visit that I have mobility issues and needed a shower with two heads so that I could shower sitting down. He appeared to be listening. He didn't want to buy the hardware. He described a shower fixture with two heads and told me to go to one of the big box stores and I would find one for around $100.00. So I went and I found one for $120.00 that appeared to be just what he had described. When he saw it, he hemmed and hawed about how they would install it. I offered to return it and purchase something else, but he said no. The top shower head has a switch that changes the water from the high head to the low head. Both heads have a switch that changes the water flow from rain to massage, etc. The top shower head was installed at 6' 6". both my spouse and I are 5'6". I told Larry I thought the shower head was too high. His comment was, "I didn't think it was too high." and went on to say it was installed at standard height. I decided to try it and see how it worked. It does not work. I had to stand on tiptoes to reach the switch on the top head in order to use the lower head. And the lower head is so high that I can not change the water flow while sitting, I have to stand up. As my mobility issues get worse I will have to have help to shower as I won't be able to manage the switches. I sent a registered letter to Larry to let him know of the issues and that I was not happy. He called and reiterated that it was installed at standard height, but he would send the plumber back to see what could be done. The plumber came and rigged up a makeshift arrangement on the top shower head, but the lower head is still too high, and the valve to turn the water off and on is too high. The plumber said he would return in 2 or 3 days with another solution. That was 15 days ago, and I haven't heard a word from him or Larry. So now I will need to save money to have someone else install a new shower wall and put the plumbing at the right height. I told Larry that he needs to ask customers before raising the height of the shower head. Also that he should consider the height of the customer and the operation of the shower heads. The second bath was done ok, because I caught the height of the shower head in time. J uly 4, 2013

Overall Gladiator Contractors has been an excellent contractor. Paula and Larry Gasparino, the owners, were very pleasant and easy to communicate with. The work was completed in a very timely manner, and we were able to moved back into our "new" home within 3 weeks. I would recommend them without reservations to do any project or reconstruction project you may have.

The overall experience with Gladiator Construction Company was pleasant and successfully accomplished. All men working for this company were very professional and friendly. We look forward to future work to be performed by this company as soon as we are able to set up future appointments with them!

Larry and Paula worked with me and kept me informed every step of the construction project. We reviewed costs on a regular basis and they were willing to work with me on any changes or adjustments that needed to be done. Most of the reconstruction was covered by flood insurance but Larry worked with me to get good prices and excellent sub contractors to complete additional work I requested. Paula handled the paperwork that was needed for the insurance company and they worked with me while we waited for the payments to be made. The contractors that Larry brought in did excellent work, were professional, conpleted their part in a timely manner. Larry made sure the project was completed in the 4 weeks we had to complete the job. All the workers were conscientious, polite, and cleaned up every day before they left. There were some questions in some of the pricing quotes but they were resolved quickly I would consider using them again in the future.

Larry and Patti from Gladiator went above and beyond to help me when the shower in our rental property leaked and caused water damage. We are absentee landlords and Larry and Patti stepped in and provided an invaluable service. They were efficient, prompt, professional, and reliable. It was Larry who informed me that our homeowners insurance would pay for the water damage. They were completely familiar with the insurance end of it - and they thankfully took care of all those details. The work was done to a very high standard. We were completely satisfied and will continue to recommend and use them again.
