Plumber Mikes

I have used these folks a few times previously and been very satisfied with the work. Not this time, however. I think something has changed in the way they approach their work and I'm pretty sure I'm not going to use them again. I don't really comparison shop. I pick a well regarded vendor and go forward with the job, and don't haggle on price. I needed a new water connection box for a washing machine and also a repair on a hose bib. The plumber stopped by on schedule and quoted about $1300. He said he normally charges $75 for a service visit but would waive that since I looked like I wanted the job done. Struck me as awkward comment for a remodeling quote, but okay, whatever. The price also seemed expensive, but I wanted to go ahead. He said I needed an electrician to move a circuit that was in the way before he could do his work. Within a week I had the electrical work completed and told the plumber's office to proceed with the contract. We set up a date and time, and I stayed home for the morning to have the work done. Neither plumber nor office called nor showed, and I still have not heard from them. I know scheduling errors happen, but I'm not going to make myself available for one to happen to again, and I've made arrangements with another plumber to do the job. Interesting that the new plumber has quoted me about one-third the price. I've also noted that the price rating on Angie's List for Plumber Mike has moved from an A to a B. So maybe their business is changing and they are acting more lie the big-guys, losing a bit of their former hustle.

HE WAS EARLY. HE QUICKLY SET TO WORK. HE TOLD US THE WHOLE UNDERGROUND PIPE DID NOT NEED TO BE REPLACE AS THE OTHER PLUMBER HAD SAID. IT WAS SIMPLY THE HAIR STRAINER THAT WOULD NOT ALLOW THE WATER TO DRAIN FAST ENOUGH IF THERE WAS ANY HAIR IN IT! HE DID NOT NEED TO SNAKE THE DRAIN AS HE RAN THE WATER FOR 10 FULL MINUTES AND IT DRAINED PERFECTLY WITH THE STRAINER OUT. THE TENANTS DID NOT REALIZE THAT COULD HAPPEN AND WHEN THEY CALLED THE OTHER PLUMBER HE SAID THE WHOLE UNDERGROUND LINE WAS SHOT. IT IS WISE TO GET A SECOND OPINION.

I had use plumber mike in the past (Joe the plumber) to replace a water heater at a rental. Probably because of recommendations from colleagues I tried some others. What I really like about plumber mike is that HE QUOTES YOU FOR THE JOB. Having 2 rentals and my own home. I'll probably paid for plumbing services more often than most. I will claim that this is in general cheaper for the client and Plumber Mike's quote tend to be cheaper than most. (I bring this up because the average person on Angieslist probably doesn't realise that). By my estimate you are probably paying about 80-95% of what you would with other plumbers and Mike's team tends to have a can do attitude. I had just closed on a foreclosure and was trying to get quotes on a tankless install and getting the run around. This time even with the heater at the main breaker off every time I was using water it would leak. I also had to do repairs to the surrounding floor and drywall so the heater had to go. This happened on a Friday night. So I put together a list of plumbers from Angieslist who work weekends and were available for emergencies. My plan was to call them Saturday morning and hopefully be able to turn water back on. The first two was going to charge me by the hour. Remembering that Joe had to drain the heater before moving it I realized that I was paying $125-150/hr just to drain a tank. Long story short I had Kevin at my new place 2 hours later and no longer have to worry about the heater leaking. If you need plumbing services at least give them a call.

Company rep showed up on time. He looked at my shower which had a leaky faucet and some small tile work which he said he knew someone that could do it. He offered me a price of $600, which was a "special price", plus the tile work. I said no and ended up doing it myself for $30 and a few YouTube videos. Typical south Florida contractor, not to be trusted.

Plumber Mikes was very professional from start to finish. Mike and Dave were very knowledgable about what needed to be done. I am very pleased on how everything was handled. I definitely will be calling them for any future services.

I had a badly clogged toilet. We tried everything and couldn't unclog it. Called Plumber Mike's and they came right out the next morning, on a Saturday. Fixed the problem in about 15 minutes. Very nice man named Kevin. Thanks very much!

The plumbing work itself was standard. The source of the leak was fixed. HOWEVER, immediately after the plumber finished his work, he stated he knew an excellent company to do the repairs. He stated they had done work at his home and were wonderful. I was unsure about what to do at that point, but he said he personally knew the Operations Manager, David Kays, and would get him on the phone for me. The name of the company is United Water Restoration Group/United Reconstruction Group. He called David from his cell phone and gave the cell phone to me so I could speak to David. David sent one of his employees over immediately to handle the dry out of the area so mold would not form. This was on April 10, 2015. The technician who did the dry out, Eddie Rios, brought a contact with him for me to sign. The contract was with the other half of the company, United Reconstruction Group. Eddie then told me I would be contacted shortly by the Lead Estimator, Michael Bakke at United Reconstruction Company. I signed the contract because I trusted the recommendation by the plumber from Plumber Mike's (because Plumber Mike's was a member of Angie's list). My experience with United Reconstruction became the worst NIGHTMARE of my life! I am writing this on July 9, 2015, THREE MONTHS from the time of the leak, AND NO RECONSTRUCTION WORK WHATSOEVER HAS BEEN DONE by United!! I have been living for three months with half of my kitchen ceiling missing. All that separates the kitchen from the attic is a piece of plastic. United Reconstruction had LOST the check from my Homeowners Insurance Company in the amount of $7,896.97! When they finally found the check, I signed it and then they sent it to my mortgage company with NO SIGNATURE from their company on the check!! Three months of absolute horror I have suffered because of the referral from the plumber at Plumber Mike's. I wish I had never contacted Plumber Mike's. I would not have been in this living h*** for the past three months!

I have used these folks a number of times over the past two to three years and they are fabulous! They have done everything for me from connecting a water line to a refrigerate and installing faucets to digging under the slab of a house and replacing all the galvanized sewer pipes which had totally deteriorated. This situation had come up within a couple of weeks of having new tenants move into a rental house we own. Mike's guys came in and worked on the job daily (during Thanksgiving week!) until it was done. It was a very difficult job, requiring lots of hand digging and using a jack hammer to break up rocks to get to the lines so they could connect the new PVC replacement pipes. They are consistently professional, accommodating, and just do a great job in all respects. I don't usually write reviews, but these folks have been so consistently exceptional that I wanted to be sure they get full credit!

Love this plumbing company!!!! This is the second time we have hired them. I called on Monday and they sent someone out on Tuesday morning. The plumber (Kevin) arrived 5 minutes early and was very nice! He explained what he needed to do to install the pipe and why he used certain materials instead of others. Very detailed and excellent work. Quick, friendly, and quality work. ***One small issue...When I called, the woman that answered said she would call me back in a few minutes to let me know what scheduling was available. She never called back. Maybe she forgot or they got busy but... I called them again several hours later and she said they were just talking about me and were about to call me back... :-/ Despite this initial setback, I hired them again and I'm very pleased with the plumbing work. We will definitely call them for future plumbing needs. Ask for Kevin...he's fantastic!

The team from Plumber Mike's was OUTSTANDING. They responded quickly and went right to work. They corrected the problem immediately and were very informative every step of the way. I will definitely call them ANYTIME I need a plumber.....Fantastic customer service!!!!

I broke an outdoor facet while disconnecting a hose. The water to the home had to be stopped in the late evening. I called Plumber Mikes and within a couple hours the folks were repairing the pipe. It required the old pipe be removed and a new facet and copper pipe re-fitted. Very pleasant and profession gentlemen got right to the problem working with flashlights to complete work saving us a bad workday morning.

As always great. They recommended the best type of sink and solution for our bathroom which we plan to replace in a a few months.

Everything was extremely smooth without any problems. They even came back to my home for a problem with the water heater months later.

Kevin from Plumber Mike's was great. I needed a second opinion since another plumber said he needed to tear up the floors to do a major plumbing job which would take 4 months. Kevin said that a 2-4 day tunneling under the house to access and replace the faulty pipes was all that was needed, and that it would be cheaper than tearing up the floors as the other plumber had suggested. He was patient when I asked him to explain the details, and very helpful with getting all of the details in writing.

I desparately needed someone to replace the water heater in my rental property. With a new tenant moving in, this had become a "priority". The lady answering the phone was professional, kind and helpful. The plumber showed up right on time, which is always a good sign. He performed the service in a quick and professional manner. My husband was able to assist him and they finished the job in a little over an hour. They provided the best price, quickest service and within the schedule we needed. I will call Plumber Mike's for any future plumbing needs.

I had scheduled the plumber to come on the day we were supposed to close. Had to reschedule due to delay, but Claudette was very helpful and was able to schedule him to come the very next day (Saturday). Kevin arrived timely and was most helpful. Repaired all the items on our list and gave us advise on what we could do ourselves and save money. I recommend them most strongly, so glad to find a reputable capable company for our plumbing needs!

Good experience with dealing with Trudy and Claudette on the scheduling. The plumber, Kevin, arrived exactly on time. He was knowledgeable, professional, got the job done efficiently and effectively, with excellent customer service. Over-all, a top-rate experience. I will definitely stay with Plumber Mike's when in need of plumbing work. And I will ask for Kevin to return !

d The plumber found the source of the leakage...from the condo above me and leakage from her toilet and the bath tub...both would have to be repaired before my ceiling could be replaced...the plumber explained this to me, and he was very courteous. It is the responsibility of the condo owner above me to do the repairs to my ceiling...we are still trying to work that out.

Two toilets running. I am recovering from knee surgery and not up to dealing with them. Called Plumber Mike's this morning and was able to get a service call scheduled immediately. Claudette (?) in the office was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. John, the plumber, showed up promptly. Completed the work efficiently. Experience was as good as I have come to expect from Plumber Mike's: professional, pleasant, helpful, efficient. The above rating for the price, by the way, is based on my unmitigated ignorance. Worth every dollar for this quality of service.

I was very happy with the service provided. I do not reside at the property where the work was completed and they were great in communicating with the tenant as well as myself. They even sent me a picture of the completed work. Very happy with the office staff and the plumber dispatched.

Nice people. Came on time and told me the price. I agreed although I thought it was way over priced even with the Angies Discount.It turned out they did clear the vent so that toilet was working but the other toilet clogged up one week later so I called a different plumber who did the same thing to the other vent..now both toilets are working...and charged almost $100.00 less.

Mike showed up promptly at the time promised, listened carefully as I described the problems, then gave me an estimate before beginning work. He fixed my leaky faucet and adjusted the shower thermostat as promised, then had me test everything to ensure I was satisfied with the repair. He left my bathroom clean and neat. His final price was actually lower than the estimate, since it required a little less work than he originally expected.

Contacted Plumber Mike's thru Angie's List late on Saturday and requested a call on Monday. Was very surprised to get a call on Sunday and service Monday morning. Garbage disposal was leaking badly and expected to have to purchase new one. Was surprised to be told that there was nothing wrong with the disposal but it needed to be reseated. Also half of double sink continually clogs and it was snaked. The technician who came to our house, Leon, was very good. He removed the toilet and scraped off old caulking. Had to purchase a flange as the old one was broken. He re-attached toilet, caulked and cleaned up. There was nothing for me to do when he was finished. The same in the kitchen, very efficient and neat. This company charges by the job rather than by the hour. However Leon did not rush through the job so he could get on to the next. He was neat, clean and professional. I will definitely use them again should the need arise and I would definitely recommend them to friends.

He is great. Came on time. Wonderful. I have recommended him to friends.
