Plumber Mikes

Upon having a competing company completely bail on me, I called Plumber Mike's and they were able to send a tech, Kevin, out the very same day. I was very impressed by their availability. Kevin was fantastic - he was very nice and knowledgeable. They charged $75 for him to come out and give an estimate, and instead of price gouging me and telling me I needed everything and the kitchen sink replaced, he actually told me that ultimately the work was really not all that necessary and he recommended saving the money and leaving as is. This was a stressful time, as we had numerous other contractors jerk us around all month long, and it was refreshing to finally meet someone honest. We ultimately decided to go ahead with the work anyway, and Kevin was able to come out a few days later. He was punctual and got the job done in a fair amount of time. I would definitely recommend Kevin and Plumber Mike's. The only minor disappointment was that the $75 estimate cost was not applied to the work done, so it ended up costing me a little more than I originally thought, but $350 for a job well done was a minor fee compared to all the other shoddy work we had to have done that month by other contractors!

Everything went as smoothly as one could hope, from getting the estimate to completing the job. Everyone I interacted with at Plumber Mike's was professional and polite. Joe himself was a pleasure to work with. He explained everything very well, did what he said he was going to do, and did it well. He was punctual and communicative, and respectful of our home (took off his shoes before entering, cleaned up after himself, and made sure to close the door for trips between the house and his truck). I also liked the fact that there were no "surprises" requiring additional work or costs. We love how our new faucets look. I will definitely contact Plumber Mike's for any plumbing jobs that may arise, and I fully recommend them to others.

I woke up this morning to a leaky hot water heater. I caller several vendors from Angie's list and selected plumber mike based on reviews, cost and the ability to respond today. Kevin called me back and in just over an hour he arrived with a new hot water heater. He was very polite, professional and was able to complete the job in a timely manner. He cleaned up the area and removed the old water heater. South Florida is well know for poor service contractors, but the service I received from the office to the installation was second to none. I highly recommend this provider for any of your plumbing needs. Superior professional service at a reasonable price.

Joe cut a small hole in the back of the shower wall and did such a solid job of attaching it securely that shower head will not pull away ever. He did such a great job and is so honest we would for sure use this company again based on our experience with Joe.

The serviceman was polite, professional, and competent...he assess the situation, replaced the shut-off valve quickly and I had hot water in, what I consider, a timely manner. Great service Joseph! You deserve to be commended.

Technician Lonnie arrive on time and immediately recognize the problem. Lonnie confirm the price for a stoppage which was the same as their office had said. Then he retrieve his tools and ladder from the van. Approximately 20 minutes later, bathroom stoppage was cleared.

The plumber (Lonnie) had to bring up alot of equipment. He laid down a cloth to protect the carpet. I thought he worked efficiently and had a good attitude. He called me over to look and explain exactly what the problem was in each bathroom, which I appreciated.

service provider sent two guys out--they came in looked at the problem and went out and fixed it immediately--they were very professional and performed their jobs very well-- I especially like the fact that they made sure to clean up behind themselves after doing the job. I referred them to my friend -- Great job guys-- Plumber Mike is who I will be calling if I need help in the future.

I called around 8:30 in the morning to schedule an appointment any time in the next week or two to check and replace 4 faulty outdoor faucets. Mike told me he was working on today's schedule and might have someone available today. He called back at 9 and said someone would be here by 10. Lonnie arrived on time and performed all necessary work. Lonnie was professional, efficient and helpful. He provided an initial estimate and explained issues that would impact that amount. During the work he showed me the issues that were unexpected (the corroded pipes), explained the process to repair them, and quoted the charges. He showed me what he was doing throughout and explained each process. In spite of weather (steamy sun alternating with thunderstorms every fifteen minutes) he remained calm, pleasant and efficient. Exceptional service. I am grateful to Angie's List, and all the previous reviews. I am especially grateful to Plumber Mike's and Lonnie for proving them right.

He came up on time and showed up. I didn't have a whole lot of expectation with him. I am glad he did the work that he did. There are materials coming out from the bathroom and so he has really need to do the job done. It had to be done or you go grimming in the shower.

The receptionist was very friendly. She stated that they had someone in my area right then and Lonnie came out the same hour I called for an appointment! He knew exactly what the problem was and fixed both issues quickly, even the issue I had had another company attempt to repair in the past 4 times. He was also extremely friendly and professional. I recommend this company and will ask for Lonnie again myself.

They are currently installing, working, and cleaning up. They have done a good job so far. They were very prompt and have been courteous.

They were wonderful from beginning to end. Very professional, honored everything they said they would do. The office workers were very polite and considerate his office staff is great. I would 100% recommend them.

We discovered a leak under our sink, called them and they came out the same day. We were a little nervous that they would not be able to get to the job right away because it was the week between Christmas and New Years but they started on a Monday and finished it up on a Tuesday. The guys who did the work were friendly and recommended another company to repair our outside wall that had to be knocked out to get to the pipes.

They were just as wonderful the second time around! Punctual, fair price, and explained exactly what happened and how we could prevent it in the future. *note to those with older homes (small pipes)- flushable wipes are not a good thing!

The initial call to Plumber Mike's was handled with professionalism and courtesy. I was advised that someone would be sent out within the hour. Kevin arrived in a very timely fashion and was friendly and professional. He identified the problem within minutes and was anxious to insure that i was being appraised of each step in the process of repair. Kevin identified the problem and resolved it quickly with virtually no collateral damage to my outside property. The price was reasonable and acceptable. I will be using Plumber Mike's and requesting Kevin going forward.

Excellent work by Kevin Walker. I broke the pipe and had to shut off the water to the house and Plumber Mikes sent Kevin over in no time--and on a saturday afternoon! Kevin diagnosed and fixed the problem very quickly.

It was horrible. They send a guy out for some issues I had. We had a leak in our sink in the bathroom and he didn’t do anything to diagnose what was wrong, he just expected me to tell him what was leaking. What I didn’t like was that he spent an extra hour trying to fix a problem that actually wasn’t there and he didn’t bother to check anything to see and determine what was causing the leak. It was a waste of money using that guy. We had another problem with a leaking toilet and the way they do things is they quote you a fixed price; overall, it was kind of high but I agreed to let them do it. They had decent reviews on Angie’s List, which is why I used them. Anyway, the guy came out, replaced one part in the leaking toilet and he said he wasn’t sure if that would fix it. He said there is another part that he thinks was the problem, but he didn’t replace that part. He just told me to watch it if there was anything wrong with it later. Of course, the part that he installed did not fix the leak, so I called Plumber Mikes back a few days later and said the toilet is still leaking and that they need to replace this other part. He said the fixed price he gave me would not cover another visit and he would have to charge me more money. I said no, he told me it was X amount to fix the problem, so I expect them to do this additional work for free and told them if they didn’t, I was going to complain to Angie’s List. I told them I didn’t pay them to get a part installed; I paid them to fix the problem. Leon, the plumber that did the work, was not happy and only did the work after I spoke to the owner, Mr. Plumber Mike himself, and Mr. Plumber Mike told me in no uncertain terms not to call them again. Whatever Leon did the second time also didn’t work. I wasn’t there the second time Leon came to my house, my wife was there while he was doing it and she didn’t watch him. I don’t know what he did, if he did anything, but I ended up going to Home Depot, buying the part myself and doing the work myself. The leak got to be so bad that I took the whole toilet apart, figured out what was wrong, went to the store, bought the part and fixed it. The problem was the valve where the water flushes out of the toilet. That valve was cracked at the base and the water was leaking out continuously, so we had to turn the water off. Either Leon didn’t do anything because there was no one watching him, or he put in a faulty part because the part that I replaced by myself had totally shattered within a month. I would never use them again. They were horrible and they totally failed to fix any of the leaks that I hired them to fix. Their prices were outrageously high and they don’t really do the job. Instead, they try something, and if it does not work, they charge you more, and that is not how it should work. When I spoke to Mr. Plumber Mike about my concerns regarding their shoddy work and high prices, he told me not to call them again. I would not recommend them under any circumstances.

He is good. I am using him again for other projects as well.

Can you say HONEST and DECENT? What a breath of fresh air working with Plumber Mike's was in the sea of deceptive and downright scam contractors in South Florida! I noticed and then was notified by my local city water department that my water bill was getting noticeably higher every month. I received an estimate by Mark Stirrup but his recommendation did not sound right to me. Having no idea where the water supply line ran underneath my lawn because the water meter was moved by the City to the left side of my property front of house and the water supply shut off valve was located on the right side of my property. I placed an urgent call to Plumber Mike's and their wonderful office assistant, Claudette, fit me in the same afternoon. Joe came out and inspected the situation. Not knowing where the pipes run underground and it might have been a mistake the City made, he advised I hire a leak detection company. I hired Florida Leak Specialists who did the detective work and was able to locate the pipes and the leak. Plumber Mike's had to come back out to finish the job, they sent John & Ken, both excellent plumbers who had to excavate my patio as well as some of the lawn to get at the pipes. They quickly replaced the leaking pipes and restored everything to the way it was before they started digging. The job was done promptly and the price was very reasonable and included a 10% Angies List discount for first time customers.

I was glad to have the leak stopped, but felt taken advantage of by Kevin, the plumber. He told me the usual fee was $100 just to come to the house and that he was giving me a deal by charging only $75 (the Angie's website says $75) and he would not allow me to use the 10% coupon printed from the website. When he arrived he told me he was very close by and did not have to drive far at all to come to my house. At first he told me he felt bad about charging me anything at all considering he was so close by and only turned a spicket off, but then went on to have me write a check for the full $75. The owner - Mike - has since sent me a refund for the 10% Angie coupon - $7.50 overcharge. I would have thought alot of this company and owner Mike if he had not charged so much for his worker doing nothing and being so close. The sprinkler unit is not repaired and I am out $67.50. I would have given Kevin a cash tip for his time and gas and lots of future business and recommendations if they had shown more common sense about what Kevin's time and effort was really worth. I will not use them again, and did not appreciate Kevin's misrepresenting the charge.

They came, they did the work for a while, went to get parts, and then finished up. This is the 2nd time using Plumber Mike and they are fine plumbers.

Very responsible. Work was good. And he gave a 10% disc. for using Angie's list
