Arrived in Deltona, FL at 8:30 am. Eddie the crew leader walked into my house informing us "they don't have time to put all this stuff in different rooms". By 1:30 pm they had loaded the truck and left for Deerfield Beach. After 5 hrs., arrived in Deerfield to unload the truck, just as the sky was turning dark. In complete darkness our belongings were rushed into our home. There was no way we could examine the truck or the condition of anything. A box fell off the truck and scooped up like nothing happened nor any mention of the fact. This box was stacked on top of two others in our living room. Of course, we were not aware of this at the time. The next day we discovered this box contained auto cleaning supplies. A large bottle of detergent was broken and leaked down the boxes on to the living room rug leaving the green dye from the word U-haul imprinted onto the rug. From the condition of the broken items their method of moving seemed to be slamming boxes down rather placing them. We are not complaining about the desk Eddie declared cheap and will break no matter what nor the items we found broken so far. We are not complaining about the fact we are senior citizens and the toll took on us being done at such terrible hours. Although we would like to have the castor missing from the dining chair! We notified Carlos the company rep by e-mail. Have heard nothing from him. When we made the initial arrangements we were told there would be no charge for supplies since we packed ourselves. However $300. was added to the bill for supplies.
Description of Work: moved our self packed belongings from Deltona, FL to Deerfield Beach, FL.

USA MOVING was persistent on the phone, and sent reminder emails several times. That was nice. They did not offer the LOWEST price, but a reasonable one. I had asked for a June 30 pickup, but they talked me into waiting till AFTER the 'busy' July 1st weekend. Then someone at their service center entered the wrong date and I had to re-schedule their pick-up. When the subcontracted company finally came to pick up my materials, they had me wait from 2 p.m. till after 7 p.m. because of 'traffic' and 'busy fleet.' ... and they arrived with an empty truck with a THIRD company's name on the truck. The subcontractor offered me a written contract that asked me to pay ADDITIONAL FEES (including a fuel surcharge I thought the phone representatives had said would NOT be needed because i had a 'binding contract,' but the driver insisted it was urgently needed - finally the driver 'cut me a deal' and reduced the percentage of the surcharge I had to pay). The subcontractor bade me sign an additional agreement on the spot, without USA Moving's having mentioned it to me beforehand (if the delivery truck was unable to maneuver the street to where my brother's house is located, they would charge me additional fees before transfering the merchandise to a smaller delivery truck). I tried calling USA Moving THREE TIMES within an hour to complain while their subcontractor waited ... 'phones are temporarily busy or out of service.' The subcontractor tried to contact their office, too, but to no avail. But in the end I yielded (like everyone else will, they hope) and gave them my belongings. When I called the Orlando office a couple of days later, my phone call was transferred to at least three different people. The one who finally stayed wtih the call DENIED that their phone lines had been 'temporarily busy or out of service.' He COMPLAINED that everybody knows there will be a fuel surcharge and that I was being frivolous in arguing about it. He BERATED me for complaining about such a small amount for the additional fees (less than $150). If they had not already taken my possessions into their truck, I would have hung up and gone to UPS! The Orlando office of Moving USA told me the merchandise COULD be delivered on July 9th or 11th, but they held it in storage for about two weeks. I was not present when the Moving USA (or its subcontractor?) made delivery ... but they DID carry it all upstairs as I had contracted them to do.
Description of Work: The company offered a written estimate by email, sent a truck with subcontractors to pick up my materials in Miami, held the material in their warehouse about two weeks and finally delivered them to a family member's house near Houston TX.
