After a horrible experience with a previous remodel (kitchen and guest bathrooms) we decided to use Angie's List where we found Living Earth. Eamon arrived as scheduled to provide an estimate. We also received two other estimates. Eamon's knowledge, suggestions and ratings on Angie's List made him the logical choice even though his bid was the highest of the three we received. We made the right choice. His demeanor, staff and suggestions made our experience not only tolerable but surprisingly painless. The entire bathroom was gutted including drywall in most places. Water was re-routed to allow for a wall in the shower to be removed which once housed the water supply to the shower, a sink and the bathtub. This allowed for a seamless shower enclosure which changed the entire look of the bathroom. His suggestions regarding the custom built cabinets were not only welcome but the look of the "floating" cabinets is amazing. His input into fixtures made our shopping much easier and included in the price was the installation of everything we purchased. The subs used by Living Earth were amazing....the drywall people, the plumber, the electrician and tile setter were not only courteous and precise in their work, but each cleaned up after themselves EVERY day. Something we weren't accustomed to with the previous contractor. We would have thought they were doing their own bathroom by the way they worked had we not known better. The project took a little longer than expected, so we gave him a "B" in that area, but we wouldn't hesitate calling on them to do ANYTHING to improve or enhance our home in the future. When finished, the "punch" list was completed the very next day to our satisfaction and quite frankly to our shock. Thanks Eamon, to you, and your staff for everything. We are happily enjoying our new bathroom immensely.

I enjoyed working with this company. They were professional and happy to do the job. They were timely and knowledgable. That being said, one of the hurrican doors was installed improperly and I can hardly open and close the door. These were installed months ago and I have called them many times requesting to fix the problem. When someone made an appointment to come out he did not show, and nobody responded to my call afterwards. I wanted to give them time to actually finish the job before I wrote this review. Other than the door, everything else was installed fine, and they were very accessible to answer any questions I had. My bathroom remodel is beautiful, and I'm very happy with it.

It went perfectly. I once emailed him and he told me, "Don't email me. Call me." He wants to be right on top of everything and I've never ever had to wait when I dealt with him more than probably a half hour for him to call back. He's very responsive. The subcontractors he used almost without exception were topnotch. If I can nominate somebody as the top person or something, I'd like to do that with him. The price wasn't overpriced. It was fair. He was always punctual. He's overlooking in every job and he's very professional at what he does. He wants to make sure everything's done right.
Description of Work: I used Living Earth Remodeling for redoing my kitchen and electrical, moving the fuse box to the outside, putting in high-quality wood cabinets, installing a granite countertop, tiling the floor and rebuilding one wall.
It went well. Eamon is very professional and he's always available to answer or return your calls. He has excellent ideas about how to do the remodeling and has very good taste. He will work with you to obtain the results you want. They put up plastic walls with zippers to isolate the area that is being worked on to minimize the dust. The crew cleans up before they leave and are all very professional and courteous. It was very pleasant to work with such nice people. It was well worth the wait and mess. My kitchen is beautiful. The stairs are beautiful and we are happy with the work done. Yes, you do need to go through permits and inspections and that takes time. Sometimes too much time if a plan gets sent back or the inspector shows up and you don't hear him knock and the inspection has to be postponed for whatever reason. But it was all worth the wait!
Description of Work: Removed kitchen ceiling and wall between dining room and kitchen. Installed new floor in kitchen, installed new ceiling and recessed lighting, install new wood kitchen cabinets and granite tops, tile back splash, Removed popcorn ceiling from kitchen and dining room, installed new cabinet and mixer valve in guest bathroom, removed wall paper and paint, remove paneling from guest bedroom walls and finish, installed new shelving in all upstairs closets, installed new hardwood on stairs.

The overall experience was bad. I called and left a message for the company. Their answering machine had a different company name Florida Energy Conservation Group. The gentleman who arrived at my home was also from Florida Energy Conservation Group. Not sure why this is listed as Living Earth Remodelers. The salesman was rude and unprofessional. It seemed like a scam to me. Not sure how this company has an A on Angie's list. This is my first experience with Angies list and and I am very disappointed. It is not working as advertised and I feel like I got scammed.
Description of Work: I called and asked for a general contractor to help with some projects around the house. One of them was insulation. What I got was a lousy salesman who was trying to push me into buying solar insulation and he wanted a decision right there and then. When I told him I needed to digest his information and do my research he laughed at me. I asked for a brochure so I can do some research on his products and he said he had none to give me. He said he was with the promotions group in his company so he was not even a contractor. He could not speak to any of the other projects I needed help with (windows, pool, fencing) His tone was condescending and rude. After I told him I felt his tone was insulting he laughed some more grabbed his stuff and said he did not belong in my home. I told him to have a great day and escorted him out. This company was a waste of my time and their tactics were very unprofessional. Very stereotypical used car salesmen type. I don't understand how they got any good reviews on this website. I would be very skeptical about this company and the reviews. What I got was nothing close to what some of these review says.

The work seems to be very good. He was very nice to deal with. The people that did the subcontracting with him were good. Overall, we were very satisfied. It looks great. Everything was good. Initially, the whole thing was more than I thought it was going to be, but after looking at different contractors, the price figured well with all the others. It was not cheap, but I think it was fair.

I first contacted them to schedule an appointment around January 20th, they told me that they could schedule one for February 5th at 4:00pm. Even thought it meant waiting almost two weeks for the appointment, I decided to give them a chance since the reviews on Angies List were good. I took time from work to be home for the appointment and they called at 4:30pm (already 30 min late) to let me know that they couldn't make it. I understand that sometimes people get caught in other jobs, but seriosly the least I would expect was a call BEFORE they were running late! The gentleman that called me asked in a very unprofessional way if we could reschedule. I told him AGAIN that I could only do afternoon appointments because of my schedule so he said that the only available appointment was in 2 and a half weeks! Really?! you would expect them try a little harder to make up for the no show! When I told him that, he just answered "FINE". I swear he could have cared less to have lost a potencial costumer.

After receiving proposals from numerous contractors for renovation work at our Ft. Lauderdale condo, we hired Living Earth Remodelers - Eamon Toner, General Contractor - to complete a floor-to-ceiling kitchen and bathroom renovation as well as the installation of floor tile and new baseboard throughout. We determined that Eamon was someone with whom we could work and who was willing to work with us and our particular requirements for the job. As it turned out, he was definitely the right choice. We found him to be honest, dependable, flexible, responsive and accommodating, and we were happy that we had found him on Angie's List. Eamon provided quality kitchen cabinets that met our specific color, style and design requirements. For the entire renovation, he offered guidance in choosing quality materials that would fit in with our overall design ideas, and in some cases he worked with materials we had already purchased. There was never any talk of "material allowances" or "change orders". We agreed on a reasonable contractual price and payment schedule up front, so that was never a problem. All work was done to code with appropriate inspections. Some of the other contractors we interviewed suggested proceeding without permits to save time and money; however, because we believe that the inspection process protects the homeowner, we wanted to deal with a contractor who had a good working relationship with city inspectors. Again, Eamon fit the bill. Throughout the process Eamon contacted us with progress reports(as we were out of state) and confirmed material choices with us. He did whatever he could to ensure we were pleased with the job every step of the way, so it was a pleasure doing business with him. The entire renovation proceeded smoothly, and the job was completed within a reasonable timeframe - on schedule- with an emphasis on quality work and an eye for detail. There was no evidence of shoddy work or cutting corners. His workforce was skilled, respectful of our property, neat, prompt and reliable. They seemed to have a good working relationship with the project manager - Rick, who deserves kudos as well - and a healthy respect for the "big boss", Eamon Toner. We are ENORMOUSLY PLEASED with the results of our renovation and HIGHLY RECOMMEND Living Earth Remodelers.

Glad to hear that your company is doing so well that you can "pick, choose, refuse" jobs. I called yesterday for a total remodel of my condo and the person who answered the phone ( who did not identify himself by name), told me that they are not doing work on condo's because they are too busy. This is such a shame because I read all their reviews and thoroughly researched the company and I "was" impressed. My business seems too insignificant for Living Earth, but I'm sure one of your competitors would be happy to get the job. GREAT JOB ON RUINING YOUR IMAGE AND POTENTIAL FUTURE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES!!!!!!!!

I am sorry this customer feels this way, I can understand her frustration! Contractors in general are shying away from work in condo's due to the frustration of the excessive paperwork required , parking, elevator problems and hours of operation. In this business climate with tight margins the down time caused by the the above, leave many contractor having to take monies out of there own pockets to finish jobs. I have always felt it it better to be truthful up front with customers, if I can not provide a reasonable service.

Eamon called to confirm appt. He arrived on time and proceeded to ask us what we wanted done. My husband and I told him that we were newbies when it came to kitchen remodeling and asked for his guidance. He was very knowledgeable in the field. He provided us with great suggestions/ideas based on what we told him we wanted. He was very straight forward and honest about the costs involved for the proposed project. When asked for a rough estimate on the project, he told us an amount well over our budget. We later decided to postpone the remodeling until such time as we saved up enough for our dream ktichen. I would definitely look him up and/or recommend him for a job.
Description of Work: I had the pleasure of meeting Eamon for a kitchen remodeling estimate. He was very pleasant and professional. He shared great ideas on how to make our dream kitchen come true. Unfortunately, once he gave us a rough estimate which seemed very high, but then again, we were looking to knock down walls and relocate electrical and plumbing. We realized we needed more time to save up for the project. I will definitely look him up once we're ready to do the remodeling.

We hired Living Earth/Eamon Toner to do a nearly complete remodeling job and could not be more satisfied with the results. Eamon not only did everything a general contractor is supposed to do but also provided interior design expertise that was a key reason we initially hired him. Our modest house, new to us but about 25 years old, presented a few unexpected issues (leaky roof, faulty electric/breaker box, etc) but Eamon handled it all with minimal extra costs or interruption. Eamon knows what he is doing, he has good taste, a lot of experience, and we’re thankful to have hired him. We had a good feeling when he still had not asked for any payment after spending quite a few hours getting the project underway. Eamon also answers his phone or promptly returns the call if he is tied up - a big plus. If we ever need a general contractor, or anyone with home remodeling/repair expertise, we would not hesitate to call Eamon Toner/Living Earth.
Description of Work: Gutted kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and installed complete new kitchen and 2 new bathrooms Removed old and installed new flooring throughout most of the house Replace sliding glass door with a window. Patched roof leak, Upgraded electric

It doesn't get any better. Eamon Toner is the go to guy in South Florida for Remodeling/Construction. His knowledge, professionalism, great attitude and excellent results put him at the top. From day one, Eamon worked with me and my wife to our exact specifications, gave great recommendations and made it all work within our budget. He is very detailed oriented and does whatever it takes to make sure it gets done right. His team is very professional and excellent. The master bathroom was completely gutted, walls were broken down to expand the size, door frame taken out and its amazing how he was able to make the finished product look like it was part of the original construction. From knockdown on the walls to every little detail, this guy doesn't miss a thing. I highly recommend Living Earth Remodelers and I will definitely use them again.

The worker and Eamon are pleasent but for the money you pay you expect better quality material.
Description of Work: Eamon and his workers were pleaseant to work with but the materials used were low quality and had to be corrected several times. Until I got tired of asking them to correct the problem, or rather, problems. The material did not hold up and several months later the leaks began again. I didn't call them back.

I find this somewhat disappointing, that a customer I had a good relationship with would not reach out to me, if she had a problem with our work considering the work was finished over a year ago with a 1 year warranty. The leak is referring to is from her existing front door which needs an awning, or the door be changed, it had been badly installed with glass block on the sides. I advised her at the time a repair of the rotted wood was temporary and a new door was needed. I will follow up with the member as she is a nice lady, if it is not right we will correct it.

Once we agreed on the options we wanted and when to start with Eamon (Living Earth Remodelers) we went away on vacation for a week. One of our concerns was doing all of this demolition and construction while living in the house. Eamon was very good about explaining how they would plastic screen off the entire kitchen and turn off the A/C while doing the demolition keeping the dust down for the rest of the house. When we returned, 75% of the demolition was completed and it looked like an entirely new open house. Eamon walked us through the entire process coming to our house several times for late evening appts (as both of us work) to accommodate our schedule. He would bring us cabinet samples, backsplash samples, etc. We just had to go out and pick out the Granite, appliances and lighting. Eamon was always available to us through phone (if not in person when he would meet us at the house) to hear if something didn't seem right during the construction. He always had patience and acted calm and reassuring that it would get handled the way it should. When all was completed, we couldn't believe how wonderful it turned out and were excited to entertain and show off the new kitchen to our family and friends. We should have done this years ago, but only if it was with Eamon and Living Earth Remodelers. We highly recommend Eamon and have already sent him to three different friends and families to work his magic with them.
Description of Work: We had wanted to remodel our kitchen for years and had gotten many quotes in the past with different companies. All of the time they were either too high or the company could not provide a vision of different options in how to remodel our kitchen. Others had suggested totally relocating our kitchen to a different part of the house, moving our dining room, etc. Options that were either not what we really wanted or too expensive. Then Eamon with Living Earth Remodelers came and provided a vision and options that nobody had thought of for a reasonable price. He was able to construct a design that was exactly what we wanted. It was to have an open kitchen out to the Family Room and Dining Room and have an island in the kitchen. While Eamon and Living Earth were doing this remodel, we also decided on some other small projects. Replace six pocket doors, install vanity mirror, replace high hats and basically paint entire interior house.

Living Earth Remodelers Inc. - owner Eamon Toner and all of his employees were quite professional, courteous and punctual. Eamon answered all of my calls on the first ring and promptly replied to emails. Each day all work areas were cleaned up and garbage hauled away. All work was completed in a timely manner. I am definately considering this company for future work that needs to be done.
Description of Work: The entire bathroom was gutted - including tub, vanity, tile and wallpaper - all from the 80s. The floor was completely torn out as it had to be partially rebuilt to be leveled out. The tub was changed out for a shower. It was not a prefab shower. The new tile work was excellent. They installed a new vanity, medicine cabinet and new lights in the ceiling and over the vanity. The work also included painting the walls, ceiling and baseboards and installing new towel bars.

I was in difficult situation because the contractor I chose originally, who was not on Angie's List, was not working out. Unfortunately, I did not choose Living Earth Remodelers first! Eamon Toner, the owner of Living Earth, really came to my rescue. I needed to complete my master bathroom remodel in a very short period of time. I can't say enough about how much I love my new bathroom and how pleased I was with everyone who worked on it. Everyone was professional, prompt and very skilled. No matter what issue arose, everyone went above and beyond to make it right and make me happy. I would definitely use Living Earth in the future and I have already recommended them to others.

Description of Work: I called and left a voicemail to set up a time to receive an estimate...two days later I called again...no one returned my call. They did eventually call me back, and came out to give me an estimate. He was prompt and very professional.
The job progressed smoothly throughout the process at both locations.
Description of Work: My husband and I are downsizing and moving into a smaller home that we had previously rented out. The home needed a lot of updating, along with many repairs. I called Living Earth Remodelers after checking them out on Angie's List. Eamon Toner came over the next evening after I got home from work and we went over my long list of items to do. He updated the kitchen with new cabinets, counter top, backsplash, and sink, moved the electrical so that the refrigerator could be placed on an opposite wall and installed a water line for the ice maker, and re-installed the lighting above the cabinets with molding along the top to hide the light fixture and exhaust pipe. They also removed a very old 1950ish built-in pantry and smoothed out the wall. The small living room had 4 large windows, so I had them remove one window and block up the wall. In one bathroom, there was a large hole in wall in the shower, which he indicated that there was apparently no shower pan installed back when this bathroom was built. They removed the lower section of the shower, installed a shower pan and then re-tiled the shower, placing a tile border between the new section and the old section of tile so that it looked like it was designed that way. They replaced the vanity cabinets in both bathrooms and installed the faucet fixtures which I had purchased. I also purchased a new mirror for the larger bathroom, which they hung for me. One room had old carpeting, in which they removed and installed a tile floor. The whole interior of the house needed patching and painting, including two sections of wall that needed complete removal and re-dry-walling. In addition to all these repairs, the roof started leaking in two areas, since during this time, it seemed to be raining every day for weeks. This house has a flat roof, as it was built in the 1950s. When there were a couple of days without rain, they got up on the roof and replaced two sections of board, and then coated the entire roof with the silicone material that seals the roof for years, and also reflects heat. I got up on the ladder to check it out and it looks good. They also had to take out the sections of the drywall ceiling below these leaks and replace them. After all repairs were done, they repainted the entire interior of the home. In addition to this home, they also did a job at my existing home, taking out an old wall-unit air conditioner and blocking up the wall and repainting it. I am very pleased with the results of both jobs and would highly recommend them. I have already given his number to both of my brothers whom may have needs for his services coming up in the near future.

Absolutely the best company you could ever work with. They certainly lived up to their Angie's list reputation. Eamon Toner, the owner, answers every E-mail and phone call - you're never put on hold, and if he doesn't have time to speak with you when you call, he tells you this and always calls back - you never get shunted to voicemail. His subcontractors are all master craftsmen in their fields, and my home looks like a new place. I called a number of individual painters/cabinet people/handymen when I was first pricing out the work, and although I expected Living Earth to be more expensive because it's licensed and insured, the prices were competitive, and in some cases, lower than doing the work piecemeal. Having one company do all the work really paid off because they could schedule everything to be done in the proper order so that, for example, they wouldn't be painting after the new carpets were put in, etc. They were going to reinstall my old countertops, as they were Corion and in good shape, once the new cabinets were in, but the countertops were accidentally picked up when Eamon had a crew come by to pick up the old carpet remnants. When Eamon discovered their mistake, he installed beautiful new granite countertops free of charge (!). I just can't say enough good things about this company - not only because of the superb quality of work, but also because of the ease of working with Eamon. Eamon gave me his opinion when I asked for it (but never pushed it on me), and always provided valuable information that helped me make the right decision (such as choosing porcelain tile over ceramic). It is also so much easier having to go to only one person with any questions/problems who immediately takes care of everything, rather than having to coordinate a multitude of jobs (that I know nothing about) myself. You cannot go wrong hiring this company for any home remodeling/repair job - big or small.
