This company is the best company I have use in all my years fixing my house. Mr. Eamon Toner is extremely knowledgeable, honest, helpful and a man of his word (you dont find that anymore). The price and the quality are the GREAT. They came, look at the problem and went out of their way and make sure I didn't have any more problems on other parts of the house. They show me the before and after, they were clean, respectful and knowledgeable. I am already hiring them again them for 3 more renovations. A++++++ company
Description of Work: Find and repair a water leak and repair roof
The job was a 10 our of 10. I requested multiple estimates for the job. Living Earth Remodelers were on the higher end but not the most expensive and not outrageous. It came down to them and another business. My wife and I just went with our gut since both reviews were good and boy were we happy with our decision. Eamon, his foreman Rick, and all the contractor that work with Living Earth Remodelers were respectful, on time, and did excellent work. For the most part I stayed out of their way, except to make decisions. When I hire a professional, I'm hiring them for their expertise, not mine. Changing your mind or second guessing a professional's experience will only cause delay's and cause the price to rise. As a result, they finished a week early. Also, Eamon made a minor mistake with the estimate, maybe between $300-$600. It was his mistake but I would have paid for the additional work if he has asked for it. But he was honest with me and said that because I was easy as a customer, paid on time and let his workers do their work without interruption that he didn't charge me for it. It's this kind of give and take that take a business over the top for me. This was an opportunity to charge me more money when he absolutely could have, instead he just acted as an honorable business and for this reason I would personally recommend Living Earth Remodelers to anyone.

We chose this company based on the great reviews on Angies List. Owner, Eamon Toner, is very easy to work with and an excellent problem solver. He strives for the best possible quality and truly tries to keep his clients happy. His prices are very fair. The final outcome exceeded our expectations.
Description of Work: Renovation of a 50 yr.+ home. Work included removal of popcorn cielings, skim coat and paint entire home, all new doors, electrical work, 2 new bathrooms and raising floor in what was originally an old porch turned into a family room.
The project went very well. I felt the price was reasonable. But more importantly, the quality of the work was excellent. The team were very responsive and worked very quickly to complete the project. Everyone was very professional. I was really impressed by the entire experience. This was by far the best contractor I have ever worked with and will recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Remodeled Kitchen, removed a wall between kitchen and dining room, removed popcorn ceiling from several rooms and added high-hat lighting to several rooms.
The job took longer than expected but with the job of this size you can expect a few hiccups along the way. First problem that came up was the granite people installed three backsplash's with the grain running the wrong way.. I called Emon (the owner of the company) he said don't worry I'll make it right. Within a few days the granite people were back and the repairs were made and now it's beautiful. Second problem: through a miscommunication The double vanity in the master bathroom was torn out even though we had decided to keep it. I called Emon he said don't worry I will make it right. He ordered new cabinets and countertop and he paid for it (probably $3000). Now it's beautiful. The crews were all very easy to get along with and they tried extra hard to do a really good job. Rick the job supervisor is a jack of all trade's and very easy to work with. they clean up the mess every day and carry it away. The tile man is the best of ever seen Roger the painter is the most thorough painter I've ever seen he sprays and rolls so it's like getting two coats of paint at the same time. Best paint job I've ever seen. You have no trouble getting in touch with Emon or Rick they always call you back or answer the phone. AND I PAID EXACTLY WHAT THE ESTIMATE WAS NO TRYING TO GET A FEW EXTRA BUCKS. EMON SAID HE WOULD STAND BY THE PRICE HE GAVE ME AND HE DID. My wife and I are really happy with the final job.

Working with Eamon Toner was great. He understood what we wanted and though we had definite ideas of how we wanted it done, he made good recommendations that improved upon our ideas. Our guest bath was the original 1960 model with the typical brown tile, tub and fixtures. We wanted a bright and stylish and more useful bathroom that we also wanted to be handicap ready. Neither of us need handicap fixtures now but if it comes to that, we wanted one that was ready to go. In the design and construction phases, extra support is built into the walls where grab bars might be needed. Also the shower is large enough to accommodate a wheel chair or walker. And the dual sinks are staggered so a person can be either seated or standing to use them. The remodel was a total redo, down to the studs in the walls and to the dirt in the floor. All new plumbing, wiring and lighting was done. All the work was meticulously performed and though it took six months, we feel we got a very high quality and beautiful bathroom.

It took a couple of calls to this company before I received a call back, but I'm glad I persisted (they are busy). Eamon Toner and his crew are outstanding. His price was a bit high, and I was hesitate to hire a contractor, but after using ?handymen,? and having poor quality work done around my house, I decided to try Living Earth. I'm glad I did. They were at my house for 5 weeks. I had several things done from tile work to painting to drywall, so I needed a diverse group, which is what Living Earth is. They did everything I needed. Eamon was nice to deal, his crew was polite and prompt, and he had a wonderful foreman. Rick, the foreman, checked on the crew daily, which I liked. That is something EVERY company should do (my roofing company promised me that, but after I signed the contract, I never saw the foreman again; I do NOT recommend them!). Eamon checked on things as well. They all wanted to make sure that I was satisfied. I was very impressed with their concern that I was happy. I highly recommend this company to anyone who wants quality work. You get what you pay for.

Overall B Good High quality, but excessive elapsed time. Would recommend and reuse for small job. Would recommend for large job only with performance guarantees/penalties agreed in contract - otherwise beware! Price: B- Good Initial pricing was competitive. Low-key about payment schedule. Many creeping extras (some caused by owner) added 13%, prompting owner to require that cost of all future charges must be agreed in advance. Quality: A Excellent. Very good work. Honored warranty when necessary. Responsiveness: D Bad Responsive on construction quality details but consistently and consciously failed to plan or manage for timely completion. Project took 14 months from 10/14 contract signing to 12/15 punchlist completion. So what happened? Eamon started demolition promptly enough, then began allocating his workers and contractors to other, smaller, jobs (check Angie's List reviews to see some) and his own personal projects. Floor tile hastily requested in December sat unused until March and was not completely installed until July. Requests for quotes on extras sat ignored for weeks or months. Many days passed with nobody on the job. Eamon rarely scheduled more than one trade at a time, except for blitzes on rare days owner would fly into town to check on progress. On-site supervision was infrequent. Customer's requests for more timely attention were often deflected with rants about hiring difficulties (should not be customer's problem!). Inspections and weather did not slow the job, nor did partial owner residency: first floor was vacated soon after demolition, and when construction finally reached second floor, house was vacated entirely for 4 months. Cause of slow progress was Eamon failing to allocate sufficient resources. Desperate to get him to pay attention, owner recorded a video of Eamon promising that tile would be finished in 4 more weeks (but it still took 8), and that owner could move back in in 8 more weeks (it took 12.) When one subcontractor submitted inflated extras, and later committed outright fraud, Eamon ducked and owner had to go hand-to-hand on his own. Punctuality: C Fair Usually late to meetings, which were infrequent, during which he took cell calls. Consistently underestimated how long he would take to complete project milestones. Professionalism: C Fair As a person and craftsman, Eamon is experienced, knowledgeable, honest, optimistic and very charming. But as a project manager Eamon managed more for his own convenience than the customer?s and took way too long to finish. Possibly in over his head on a job this large. Eamon?s direct employees are competent, professional craftsmen. Foreman Rick is responsive, knowledgeable and resourceful -- an exemplary human being. Rigo, Cheli, John, Dylan and Sean are fine workers. Grade "A" for the employees. Subcontractors Allen (windows), Arden (plumber), Jorge (granite), Roger and Julio (painters) and some others did very good work. But there were also instances of alcohol on the job, damaging incompetence, unauthorized removal of tree fruit, non-working family members on site all day, and fraud. Mixed grades for the subs, most "A" or "B" but a few "F"s.
Description of Work: Major renovation of 50-year old, 2-story home - windows, floors, plumbing, electric, interior layout, HVAC, paint. Reconfigure living space and add bathroom.

Response from Living Earth Remodelers
This was not a unusual project for us. It was a very large and complicated project, with a customer micro managing the project. If anything can be taken from this it would be the following: When your contractor is being honest about the time frame of work, listen to them, if you don't agree get another contractor to confirm or lie to you. This customer was told at point of sale that it would be 10 months if he vacated the property where we could demolish and work on the complete project, not one floor at a time which was equal to remodeling 2 homes. He never bought into the time frame, and so had unrealistic expectations. He continued to live in the home under a complete re-wire ,re-plumb ,cutting large concrete openings to install large windows. " I was specific ,10 months if you move out" The customer added many additional projects, ie, In wall built toilets, roof, ac work, exterior wood work and painting, refacing kitchen and refinishing ceilings. When a customer is micro managing, it is very difficult to run a project when your employee's ,foreman and subs are constantly under revision , conversations, stop and start work. It was kind of like having your dentist do a root canal while you were munching on a beef jerky and telling him how he should do it, not very workable! Advise ! if you want to micro manage, do not hire a GC , pull your own permit and run your own project. As always I enjoy what I do, I enjoyed many conversations with [Member Name Removed] and we delivered a beautiful ,very high quality project at a very reasonable price. My goal as always is to deliver a good job, I take pride in my customers being happy and I have great long term relationships with many of my customers.
I had no issues at all with the staff of Living Earth. They informed me of everything during the process. Everyone was polite, friendly and professional, from the office staff who called to inform me of city inspections, to the men working on my home. They were always punctual , polite, and cleaned up after themselves. The bathrooms are beautiful! Eamon Toner is wonderful!
Description of Work: Living Earth remodeled two bathrooms in my home. I was delighted with the services they provided. The work entailed removing old tile flooring and walls, new plumbing and electrical wires and outlets, installing marble and granite walls, new flooring, vanities, drywall and painting.
Excellent. Eamon Toner, the owner met with us in Feb. to discuss our needs, provide suggestions and subsequently submit a bid. We got bids from two other local contractors, also found on Angie's List. Eamon was competitive with others and we felt most comfortable with his approach, process and ideas. We had a specific demo date requirement and Eamon got the permits lined up and started demo on the exact date we requested. Work was completed in two weeks as noted in his proposal.Communication line was established at beginning between his foreman, Rick and my son. My son inspected the work each evening after crew left and if there were any issues, he communicated them to Rick and they were resolved promptly. For example, we requested a bit more insulation in walls after tear out (which was not in original work order) and contractor complied. Everything was executed according to our wishes and on budget. Very fine workmanship all the way around. Eamon allowed us to purchase our fixtures directly from a supplier of our choice that we had an existing relationship with, although he has vendors he can recommend. Eamon was always accessible to discuss progress of job. In my experience of dealing with various contractors over the years, I have found that the 'communication" component is critical to ensure everyone is on the same page. You get that with Eamon's company. I have since been in contact with Living Earth Remodelers about some future projects. They earned my endorsement. Well done !
Description of Work: Complete tear out of bathroom installed in early 1960s. Installed new tub with shower, toilet, sink, counter top, all fixtures. New fans, can lights, GFI outlets, brought new ac vent into bathroom. Installed new porcelain tile around tub and on floor. Drywalled, painted. Whole new modern bathroom. Took care of all local permits.
Outstanding professionalism and quality. The job was done extremely well and Eamon and his team were very professional; always on time and setting the right expectations.
Description of Work: Half wall removal, wood floor installation in living room and dining room, interior painting of entire house, re-finish all walls in one room, chandelier installation, shelves installation, electrical work in the garage.
Eamon, his crew at Living Earth, and his subcontractors (Brower Electrical) are the standard by which all contractors should be compared. From start to finish they were professional, courteous, accommodating, and did outstanding work. And one of the most reassuring signs that we had found the right contractor: they didn't ask for half the money up front (if your contractor asks for all the material costs before doing any work I recommend looking for a different contractor). We had a small master bath completely remodeled, including the replacement of an exterior access cabana door and installation of a vent fan, as well as replacement of our main and service electrical panels (which were out of code), installation of a second vent fan and new 20amp service in our main bathroom, new interconnected smoke detectors, and GFCI outlets in our kitchen. The work was done in a timely fashion and we were kept in the loop every step of the way. The disruption was as little as could be expected with gutting and replacing a bathroom, although having a door directly from the exterior to the bathroom definitely helped in our case. They told us when they would be there and what they'd be doing (and then actually showed up!) so we could make any plans accordingly. On top of all that, the work spanned the birth of our first child and they did everything they could to not be intrusive during that transition. The only issue we ever had was with some of the tile work but as soon as we mentioned our concern to Eamon he said "don't worry, I'll make sure it gets fixed" and that was it! The guys were back the next day and it was done exactly how we asked. The electrician even installed a timer I had bought for our exterior lights that I hadn't gotten around to installing. I can't say enough good things about our experience. I would highly recommend Living Earth Remodelers, even if it means you have to wait for availability in their schedule (news flash: this is a GOOD THING when picking a contractor...it means they are in demand because they do good work).
Description of Work: Complete bathroom renovation, new bathroom fans in 2 bathrooms, new electrical panels, new cabana storm door, install storm shutter on front entry door, new GFCI outlets in kitchen, rewire bathrooms for 20amp outlets, new hardwired smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
Work started in January with the powder room remodel. We bought the vanity and new lighting and all was installed, new tile floor put down, painted, new molding, within a week. There was an issue with the plumbing fixtures that required a plumber and he came quickly to address the problem so work could continue. The pocket door to be replaced required cutting out the old door, putting in the new one, and repairing the wall where it had to be cut-it looks perfect! The kitchen was a much bigger project. The contractor, Eamon, worked with us on the schedule as we had a trip planned and family coming in. We purchased the new appliance, the pendant lighting, and the cabinet hardware but all else was done through the contractor. Demolition was messy and there were some delays with workmen schedules but the overall end result is fabulous! As with any major renovation, there were some glitches but Eamon made good on all of them and more. The cabinet provider, Mike, worked with us to get the refrigerator built in and found standard cabinets to meet all of our requirements. The painting took place over several weeks. Furniture was carefully moved and put back and the molding painting was completed quickly.. Renovations are never easy, but Eamon and the quality workmen he hires, particularly, Rick, his "foreman" made this a bit easier. It took close to three months to finish everything and the angst of living in and through it is almost gone! We love the results!
Description of Work: Remodeled a powder room with a new tile floor, new vanity, mirror, lights and paint, the kitchen with new cabinetry, new countertops, new appliances, new backsplash, and crown molding, replaced a pocket door, painted the living areas, took down the popcorn ceilings in the living room and diningroom, replaced the knockdown in the kitchen and family rooms with a smooth coat, put in new lighting, and a new sliding glass door in the dining room.

Unprofessional. We expect a return call when a return call is promised. The provider failed to deliver. The Angie's List listing and provider's website also do not disclose that they do not perform work in condos.
Description of Work: My wife contacted on 5/9 and spoke to an employee. The employee took the details of the work my wife wanted performed and promised that the owner would call her back. It is now Tuesday, 5/12 and my wife hadn't received a return call. I called the provider today and inquired on the status of our request. When the employee discovered that we live in a condo, she advised that they do not perform work in condos. No reasoning was given.

If this client had read "Services offered" he would have seen the following: I copied this of my Angie's List listing. Services Not Offered: New Home Construction. Condominium remodeling. Based on the fact that the information is on the website I feel this review should not be necessary. If you read through my many reviews you will see multiple cases where we state that we do not work on condo's and the reasons why! I have many customers contact me through email, no address, no telephone ,these things can be helpful when I have to reach out to you. Please understand we are all understaffed these day, add to that, that I spend much time out in the field visiting customer jobsites. We will get back to you, though sometimes not in the time frame you would desire. Thank you for your patience, Please keep in mind that we are in the tightest unskilled labor market we have ever experienced in the construction industry.

It went perfect, it turned out just the way he described it. I am very pleased with his work.
Description of Work: I hired him for deck restoration.
In the spring of 2012 I met with 3 contractors I found on Angie?s List, all with A ratings. I was far more impressed with the proposal I got from Eamon Toner, owner of Living Earth Remodelers than either of the other two. One of the other contractors was quite a bit less expensive, but I was uncomfortable with the shortcuts he suggested. The other was comparable to Eamon?s quote, but he started off our meeting telling me how swamped his company is and he didn?t seem particularly eager to take on my project. So I hired Living Earth Remodelers and it proved to be a good decision. Everyone I encountered on Eamon?s crew was professional and courteous. They each had a great attitude and were totally experienced in their respective fields. All were true craftsmen who take a lot of pride in their work. Mine was an extensive project so of course there were a few inevitable glitches, but all were dealt with in a timely fashion and with good results. Over the course of the renovation there were quite a few small changes I requested, resulting in additional time, effort and materials. In the final tally I was pleasantly surprised that for the most part there weren't any additional charges. I?m kind of a clean freak, so one thing I was particularly impressed with was their thorough cleanup each day before leaving. Before the work began I was concerned with dirt and dust throughout the rest of the house. Eamon explained that a plastic barrier would be installed to prevent that. While I wanted to believe him, past experience with other projects told me not to get my hopes up, but I was amazed at how well it worked. I was so pleased with the outcome of this project that I hired Eamon the following year to renovate my master bedroom and bath?again with the same superior results. Eamon?s a man with a great deal of personal and professional integrity. His prices are fair and the end result is excellent. Without hesitation I definitely recommend Living Earth Remodelers.
Description of Work: In July 2012 my kitchen and laundry room were renovated. The work included cabinetry, quartz countertops, plumbing, lighting, painting, upgraded windows & doors and relocating the electric service panel. The following year my master bedroom and bath were renovated, including new french doors, replacing the bathtub with a walk in shower, plumbing, lighting, ceramic tile, crown molding, painting and installing a custom closet system.

We interviewed a dozen contractors before we selected a contractor we were comfortable with to do a major renovation that included, breaking through a load bearing wall and completely creating and putting in all new plumbing for two bathrooms. They were neither the cheapest, nor the most expensive estimate, but we felt we could rely on them more than anyone else who came to bid for the job. They tore out two bathrooms (one at a time) and redesigned the floor plan to add a hallway down the center of the bedroom area of the house to make access to an inaccessible room added on by a prior owner. Additionally, we expanded the kitchen into what had been an eat-in area. They worked with us to create the look and feel we wanted, and made good suggestions when appropriate. The work was messy but they did their best to contain the mess. The quality of the work is outstanding. The end result is absolutely fabulous!

I am sorry this customer felt this way, they were nice people and we did have a pleasant conversation, unfortunately I was not able to bid there job as we are always walking a fine line as to how many job we bid, accept and perform to maintain a decent level of timely completion and customer service. We should have gotten back to him but by the same token wouldn't also make sense to simply call your contractor just to touch base with them to see where they are in the process or what changes they might be experiencing in bidding your project. Sometimes you may need 2 conversations to get the job done and it may be well worth your time. I could understand a negative review if you reached out with a follow up call and had a poor result.

Everything was half way done. The bathroom was left totally incomplete. They were not tidy at all, they left all the paint cans in the living room, they did not remove bolts in bathroom prior to painting. It took several attempts for them to come back out, begged them to finish the job. Meanwhile they already cashed check and didn't care if they finished the job or not because they already had my money.
Description of Work: They were supposed to complete my bathroom... which was never finished. They did do the ceiling in bedroom which was a lot of work, they painted the baseboards. They did not do the closet doors. They didn't do any prep work, no sanding was involved.

We contracted with [Member Name] to do a much larger project. After several visits, dealing with her indecision, she decided to only work on her 2 bathrooms and her master bedroom. In between my visits, someone had tried to break into her home. The next day I replaced two large screens for her, at no charge, as I could see she was traumatized by the incident . Unfortunately when customers talk to you about how many people have ripped them off and how all contractors are crooks, is not a good sign to start a relationship, I would generally not do a project this small but, in all honesty, I really felt sympathy and need to help this customer due to her very challenging circumstances, I am sorry she did not feel that we went the extra mile for her. If you read some of my previous responses, I am the first one to say "we don't always get it right" but, in this case, we did extra work, colors were changed, we repainted at no extra charge for a $1,600.00 job. I would not do this under normal circumstances.

My fianc? and I met with several contractors before meeting with Eamon. He was an absolute pleasure to meet; very professional and knowledgeable. This was our first major remodeling project and we were both a bit nervous about the process. Eamon made us feel absolutely comfortable and confident through the entire process. His team communicated with us from start to finish on every aspect of the job and occasionally checked in making sure we were happy with the work. Eamon's team made the experience totally stress free. They take pride in their job. I could not have asked to work with a better team including: Rick, Cindy, Howard, Arden ...thank you all. My bathroom is complete; it's absolutely beautiful and I look forward to working with them on my kitchen.

We have wanted to remodel our kitchen and install flooring throughout the house for some time now. We have never used a contractor and were not sure what it would entail. Eamon was phenomenal! We felt very comfortable with him immediately, and his professionalism shone through. After five different contractors, my husband and I debated over and over between Eamon and another company. The other company won out only because the price was considerably less. This decision was based solely on finances. In the future, we will definitely be in touch with Eamon for any other projects we are considering.
Description of Work: The owner of Living Earth Remodelers, Eamon Toner, came out to the house twice, met me at his office and also at a flooring store to give me advice. He also helped me in a decision with kitchen cabinets.
