+ -1 moreI phoned Mr. Sims and he was able to come out the very next day. He arrived right on time. He went to work and inventoried my purchase for the front door only to find out that the box had been discreetly opened and a piece was indeed missing. Luckily, he had a replacement in his van. After finishing the front door, he reminded me to keep the receipt and description since the manufacturer offered a free lifetime warranty and in his experience, they did readily honor that warranty. He moved on to the garage door and after finishing made sure I was aware of how differently this lock worked so I would not lock myself out. Mr. Sims asked if I needed additional keys made, which he did right on the spot. A time saver by me! Mr.Sims was very professional and friendly offering tips and even took time to answer a neighbors door hinge question by phone. I would use his services again without a doubt and recommend him to my neighbors without hesitation!
Description of Work: Mr. Sims installed new hardware that I purchased for my front entrance door, garage door, and made extra keys.

+ -1 moreJust realize what I already wrote should have gone here. Sorry. Work performed: Opened locked door - repaired lock, lubricated, and reinstalled. Did whatever was necessary to make one key open all 8 external locks on my house. I had had one key that opened the front door and no keys for the rest of the house's doors.
Description of Work: A family member went into our master bath, locked the door, then came out the side door onto the patio locking that door as well - so we were locked out of our main bathroom. I tried to open the door sticking various tools into the small hole but had no luck. I called Hank Sims because his reviews were positive and he was close by. I left a message and he called back within the hour. He said he would be out after noon, then called back around 1:00 and said he was runnin a little late. I appreciated his calling and told him I had some errands to run - we agreed on 3:30. He arrived right on time and immediately went to work on the inside bathroom lock. It took a few minutes but he got it open and showed me that the mechanism was damaged and the little slot that is there to mate with the special tool that comes with a new lock had been worn away (I probably did this sticking various screwdrivers and allen wrenches into it trying to open it myself). So Hank went to his van and found a similar piece that was a little long, which he cut down. He then reconstructed the lock and soon had it on good as new. Then I told Hank that our whole house was a lock disaster. We had 8 external locks, none of which was the same, and we had only gotten one key (to the front door) when we moved in 2 years ago. I asked was there any way that something could be done to get keys to all the locks, preferably one key opening all of them. I thought this was a crazy request, but he said no problem. I am not sure how he did it but I now have one key on my key ring that opens every external lock in my house. Needless to say I am delighted - it really solved one of the things that had been bothering me. He was here over 2 hours. I was delighted when he presented me with a bill for $183.00. I had been charged half that much years ago by a locksmith who came out and unlocked my door and was at my home a total of 5 minutes, so I was expecting much worse. An added bonus - we spent a few minutes at the end talking fishing. I told him I had not had much luck for a while and he suggested a new type bait, even giving me a few to try. Now that is full service! Hank Sims was punctual, highly competent and professional, fair, and a nice guy, too. I can't recommend him enough.

+ -1 moreHank is very professional, knows what he's doing and very pleasant. He was going to re-key the locks on our fence, but once he got it open, he realized that the lock was broken. He said he would see if he could find the lock, and get back to me the next day. I decided not to change the fence locks right now, and he said it was no problem. He promised that he would let me know about the fence locks,and he called just when he said he would. He's very professional and seems very good at his job.
Description of Work: We bought a new home and Hank came out to change the locks. I asked him about using one key for all of the locks and he told me that if they were all the same brand he could re-key them. He changed or re-keyed all 7 doors which including a cabana bath that doesn't enter the house, but it's nice to have just one key for all of our locks.

Description of Work: Excellent work by Hank,He was a pro all the way, got his name through Angies list obviously or may be not?. I had two previous locksmith would took me for a total of $250.00 before I decided to look up the lists of locksmith that were by me and called Hank and made an appointement came by on time, I have twin locks on my front door so he suggested to take the non broken lock and replace the other, no one else had the smarts to think of it not even me. anyway after taking both locks apart he replace them and siad I needed to get new locks and that can be though to pick the right lock. He suggested a few . I would recommend Hakn to anyone, I'm very happy with the job he did. Thanks Hank!!!

+ -1 moreI couldn't be more pleased with his service. I got him on the phone on the first try to set up the appointment, which was for the next day. He arrived right on time. I just moved into a new house, so I needed 14 locks re-keyed in total. He charged me $10 per lock plus $65 for the service call (total of $205). I had two locks that were not working properly including one lock which required lots of effort to close the door. He fixed both locks at no additional charge. He exceeded my expectations completely. I would highly recommend him.
