Description of Work: We bought a new home from Engle/Tousa Homes as of April 2007,the selling realtor was excellent,it was the closing department we had problems with. Everything we had a problem with they either had a lame excuse for,insulted us by stating "thats what we wanted" and went back on their word such as "youll get drawers under you cooktop" then later removing the drawers and stating "that cabinet doesnt come with it,we would never say that. Even at the closing we were assured by the home inspector that the Closing Coordinator was aware of mis-matched tiles in the Master Bath only to find her to fax at the closing that "this is how they wanted it". Mind you,this company wasn't in Bancruptcy Chapter 11 when we first placed our down payment so the workers cut corners galore,using the cheapest goods they could get away with and hiring what looked to be Illegals as no workers spoke English,we know this as we were at the homesite every other day. Real poor to say the least workmanship. Its been over a week and we still havent moved in as were correcting mistakes they made by hiring our own contractors. We are in the construction/real estate side business and have professionals at our disposal,but this should never have happened.We also got the run around with the Design Center,we had 5 appointments all around South Florida that were cancelled,when we finally had a confirmed appointment and drove 24 miles to get there,the Designer was "Pink Slipped" the previous day and no one called us. We were left with someone who had NO idea what upgrades were available and never saw the development!!

Description of Work: We're presently having a home built at CasaBella by Engle Homes, after many complaints from the get go were falling on deaf ears. The work being done is of poor quality and using poor materials. Seems no-one is interested in hearing our dissatisfaction from upside down electrical outlets to broken doors to tile grout missing in many areas and overspray of paint. The windows have loose fitting trim, trees planted with dead branches and plants without even any soil around them. We noticed 2 broken doors today that have to be replaced. The carpet was layed on top of construction dust and material. The installers scratched all the baseboard, cabinet trim doesn't match some drawers are stuck and some have crooked hardware. They used all plastic tube plumbing, not even PVC. It seems no one is overseeing the construction. The house has yet to be swept and had carpet installed with seams showing, missing concrete on the thresholds, missing rubber gaskets, the list goes on and on. We were promised the world April of 2007 when we signed the contract and gave a $45,000 deposit. Mobile homes are constructed better than this home at Casa Bella in Delray Beach.

Description of Work: THEY BUILT A HOME FROM THE GROUND UP. IT WAS A SINGLE FAMILY HOME IN A NEW SUBDIVISION.

Description of Work: THEY BUILT THE HOUSE AND DID SEVERAL LITTLE THINGS. THERE ARE TOO MANY ITEMS TO NAME. IT WAS JUST LITTLE THINGS THAT NEED TO BE FIXED WHEN YOU MOVE INTO NEW HOUSE SUCH AS STAIRCASE REPAIR, REPLACING LANDSCAPING, AND GROUT CRACKS. THEY REPLACED THE SLIDING GLASS DOOR IN THE BACK.
