In July 2020 I signed a contract with this company to build a patio cover in my property. For the project to commence a deposit of $4,700 was required. I paid the deposit via check (big mistake on my part). It is now May 2021 and zero work has been done and my permit has been denied 6 times. The sixth time the permit was denied because "Corrections received are not signed and sealed by a design professional." This is just carelessness and sloppy work on Aluma's part. Prior to the sixth permit denial the owner, Mr. Antonio Requejo, assured me the permit would be approved. This was clearly a lie on his part. Upon seeing the sixth denial I demanded a refund but Mr. Requejo wanted to deduct $1,576.78 worth of expenses from my total deposit of $4,700. The expenses included the following items: sales commission, contract processing, engineer signed and sealed plans, notice of commencement and permit fees. I've never had a contractor charge me for effort... typically, you pay for results. In this situation the result would be an approved permit from the city. In order to get out of this horrific situation I agreed to have these expenses deducted from my deposit just to get out of this situation. This was April 15 and I'm still waiting for my refund a month later. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CONTRACTOR. I cannot stress this enough. Mr. Requejo is a fraud, liar, unprofessional and his engineers have no clue what they are doing. Don't be fooled by the competitive price his sales rep quotes you.... dealing with this company is not worth the headache. Now I'm out $4,700 and it's going to cost me more than that in legal fees to recoup my money. BEWARE OF THIS CONTRACTOR!

This contractor is not to be trusted under any circumstances. He will lie to you over and over again and not complete the work properly. He took my down payment and never did the work and I am currently contacting an attorney to get my money back. Check the Better Business Bureau to see the many, many complaints that are shown. Just like all con men, he will be nice and friendly at first, but once he has your money he will start making all kinds of excuses.
