I had told the head of the company, Richard, that I had already spoken with two paint contractors recommended by my realtor and another friend, who had either not called back or failed to show up. I then turned to Angie's list and found A-Best. Richard had Jack come over the next day to discuss the job and paint colors. I was planning to be out of town but he assured me they would be fine working there after my husband let them in. They do not use sub-contractors, only their own men, Richard emailed the estimate, then adjusted it after I eliminated painting the bathroom ceiling. Every detail was reviewed by phone or email and I felt comfortable that they knew what was to be done. My husband met with the painters and really liked them, especially the foreman, Brad. Brad even came over on Sunday and painted when he thought they were a bit behind schedule. They did a fabulous job,and I would use them again -- the paint job is excellent! They were neat and professional and I felt comfortable leaving them.

He assisted me in choosing the type and quantity of paint to purchase. We scheduled the date of service. The painters arrived as scheduled and were very polite and professional. They finished the job as scheduled and worked so quietly that it was like they weren't even in the house. When they finished, we walked through and all looked beautiful! They moved everything back into place and replaced all outlet covers, removed all the floor & furniture coverings and left everything looking terrific. The owner called me in the evening to confirm all was completed to my satisfaction. What a relief to have it done and for the process to be so easy for me:-)
Description of Work: Two very polite and professional painters arrived as scheduled and spent 8 hrs painting my master bedroom and bathroom including doors and molding. They took care to protect my furniture and flooring. No detail was spared. All arrangements were made in advance and I knew exactly what to expect the day of the project. I would definitely recommend A-Best Painting Contractors and will use them again for any future painting needs!

+ -1 moreThey laid drop cloths on the porcelain tile floor and used plastic to protect the furniture. There was much taping off to do, but they did put it where needed-around unmovable wall fixtures. They communicated with each other on how they were going to tackle the job which would give me the most value for my money if time became an issue. Some time was wasted in the areas where the men had to assist each other ... Artie held the ladder, while ,"The Owner" cut the high ground over the windows, and the interior scaffolding. Artie would have everything lower and above the base boards. It was pleasant hearing them talk about their day to day lives and family, instead of the latest reality show or sports. Oh...I take that back. I think they did talk about sports, but briefly. At some point I was told that I was going run out of paint, which was also a time killer because I had to go to the store. However, the owner painted the top of the scaffolding thingy, even after I told him he didn't have to But they didn't want to waste time while I was at the paint store, so they did it used the little bit of paint left in the can and roller to put a first coat on for me. Sort of like priming it. I thought that was extremely considerate . The work was done. Meaning, they finished what I asked them to do within the the time, and with the delays. AWESOME!
Description of Work: I purchased a discounted service ad for the company on Angie's List. It was for two painters for sixteen hours to paint whatever you want. You choosing and provide the paint, and the will use their own equipment. I had to reschedule the appointment twice because I had other contractors who were running behind schedule and the wouldn't be able to work with them in the home. Richard Guitar (one of the owners, was always welcoming and willing to work with me without hesitation. He came off a very personable and easy to work with. He explained the coupon in detail. He asked questions about the home and the condition of the walls, including the number of rooms. #My object for the coupon. He also explained that if the job wasn't complete, that I could chose to have the men continue for a hourly rate-or not. The day of the job. Artie and please forgive me if I have the names wrong or forgot because I met and worked with quite a few contractors since selling our home in Maryland and moving to Florida-my brain is fried. And I'm writing this late because I just found the box in storage that had my computer attachments. As I was saying...Artie was early and later was joined by another who was one of the owners of the company. He assessed the job, said he wasn't sure if they could do all I wanted in a day but they would do their best. I live in a two story town house. I wanted them to paint at least 20ft partial high ceilings, the wall against the stairs, and climb up a built in wall scaffolding and stand on it, to paint part of a wall. Doing two coats of paint, over Ralph Lauren Dutchess satin paint. Done ten years ago. Remember when that was the sichzille? On a level from one to ten? I thought it was a four. The professional contractor scale...impossible. A mind blowing fifteen. Not a contractors dream. I signed the contract for the price and time, and they rolled up their sleeves and got down to business.

Description of Work: Richards crew painted the interior of my home. My home has very tall ceilings (28 ft) and is not an easy job. I had gotten 3 other estimates from painters which came in at half the price, yet I went with Richard because I could tell he was a professional. I do believe when it comes to certain things that you get what you pay for, In this case i was totally correct. The painting crew was no nonsense, they came every day on time and worked like crazy to get my job done. They also returned my home every day as they had found it. The pictures and draperies were all rehung and no mess was left. I made the best decision ever when choosing a painter, I wish i could convey how wonderful Richard and his crew of painters are. I look forward to them painting the outside of my home.

+ -1 moreNEThe estimate was given within 3 hours after seeing the jobsite. The workers were friendly and ON TIME! The job was completed in ONE day and was exemplary! They arrived EARLIER than expected and provided everything for the job. I didnt have to do anything or provide any supplies other than the paint since it was a custom color. They DO provide ceiling white paint at a discount price. The job was completed about 5 hours late with 2 coats and that included doors and trim. I was VERY satisfied and happy with the job and when I need a painter again for the exterior of my house or any other interior painting work, THIS is the company I will use again...The experience was pleasant and NON stressful and I felt at ease from the time they came. The best part, their prices were NOT high but VERY competitive. I actually thought the price would be significantly higher than the $650 I was charged!! USE THIS COMPANY!!!

+ -1 moreThe two person crew consisted of a woman and man with the woman being the person in charge. She was outstanding in the performance of her duties. The helper was good, but required direct supervision. The crew painted 3 restrooms, a hallway and a laundry room. The few minor problems I found were resolved before they left. Overall, I was pleased with the work done and if I have another job that requires painting of rooms, I would not hesitate to call them again.
Description of Work: After reviewing painting contractors on Angies List I selected A-Best because they serviced my area and they had many positve comments. I called and they estimator came out and gave me a fair price and the owner applied my Angie's List coupon to the estimate. I scheduled the work to be done in 2 days. However, due to scheduling conflicts, the work days had to be moved twice. The company was very cooperative and worked with me to schedule the painter's as soon as they had availability and I was available. The work was finally scheduled and done on October 30-31.

+ 0 moreA-Best was very prompt and responisive through the whole process. We had added some additional work to the scope and the process for the price and schedule adjustment was smooth as can be. They really work well with you to meet your needs. They had good recommendations on what to do and what not. We had a lot of work done by other contractors and the stucco wrork was far from perfect...leaving patches on the walls. A-Best took on the job of refinishing the walls. What a difference it made. The painting job as well done and they were good about not inspecting their work after. They are definitely on the top of our list for future projects involving painting.
Description of Work: The job involved pressure cleaning walkways etc. Stucco work to blend in walls done by some of the other contractors and ofcourse exterior painting.

+ -1 moreAlthough I had purchased a coupon on Angie's List for $400, which was advertised as being valued at $880 when Richard Guitar (owner) came to look at the work I wanted done, which was only to repaint around the window frames on the newly installed windows, he told me that that was not the way to go. Long story short I ended up painting the entire house and the dock. Dealing with A-Best Painting was painless, as they always showed up when they said they would and when weather prevented them working they were timely in informing me of the schedule. The crews that did the work were professional and pleasant and did a very careful job. I would certainly recommend A-Best .
Description of Work: Exterior one story house and 65 foot dock area power washed, scraped. and painted.

+ -1 moreTwo painters were sent. They wasted no time and took care of everything... removing the switch plates, the smoke detectors and drapes. I never saw them take a break for lunch and they finished the job in the 8 hours I had purchased. This took two coats on some walls and three on others. The total area painted was just at 1500 square feet in three rooms and a hallway. They noted that some of the doors had been painted with oil based paint and needed to be painted with oil based paint this time, too, to avoid problems. They could have just used the latex for all I knew. I appreciate the care, the attitude, and the pace of the painters. I would certainly use them again.
Description of Work: The area painted was 1500 sq ft and used a very light pink and a fairly dark red to cover a waffle yellow surface.

I had to be away when the work was done, but it was perfectly executed, and the place was spotless when I returned. I would CERTAINLY use them next time I need some painting! They also left extra paint in the colors used in case we ever need to patch.

They worked carefully with care to detail and consideration in regard to maintaining a clean work environment to prevent any paint damage to other areas. When finished, they cleaned up meticulously, moved all furniture back in place and removed all drop cloths and plastic coverings with care. Today, the newly painted areas look beautiful and I am very happy with the work from start to finish. A-Best Painting gets straight A's from me and I will be calling on them again in the future.
Description of Work: First they efficiently covered all floors with drop cloths and moved or covered furniture with plastic to protect everything from possible paint splatters. Next they repaired any cracked and peeling painted areas. They painted two bathrooms, a hallway, kitchen and dining room.

+ -1 moreTwo painters for the day special for $ 400 was not a good value considering the doors and trim were not completed within the time paid for. My total square footage is 915 square feet for entire house. All that was painted was ceilings and walls of a small galley kitchen, small living room, small hall. None of the trim or doors were touched. Painters had difficulty locating house and were late to start. Around noon when owner called to check how things were going I expressed my displeasure that only the ceilings had been completed thus far and the walls had not been started yet. Considering the small area I had expected more work to be done. There were excuses that knock down finish had been problematic and slowed down work. I agree that the finish had some problem areas but not enough to keep painting from being completed in timely manner. I was asked if I wanted them to return to finish the work which I declined and ended up doing on my own . I can't help but wonder what percentage of people who take this "DEAL" end up having them have to come back to finish the job for the "SPECIAL" rate the next day....

He set up the estimate to our convenience, was punctual, and gave feedback on picking out the correct color. He informed us the job could start at our earliest convenience. A Best painting began approximately one week after the estimate. The 2 person crew was punctual, and we left each day for work leaving them alone in the unit all day. They worked diligently and completed the job in 3 days. Richard came by mid-way through the job just to check and see if we were happy. The crew cleaned up completely each day making the experience a lot easier. Their pricing isn't cheap, but its fair, and I can honestly say that you get what you pay for (clean professional job, trustworthy employees, licensed and insured). Definitely recommend A-Best Painting!

I called them because the painter that was recommended to me never returned my phone call so we needed someone to come in pretty fast and do the job. They came the same day I called (within a couple of hours) to give us a quote. A nice professional man came, took all of the information he needed in order to have Richard email us a quote. The next morning we received the quote and was very impressed with it! We went ahead and booked it right away. They were able to fit us in the next day for the job. The morning of the job, they came in right on time at 8am and started to work right away. They worked straight through until they were done at 2pm. When they were done I didn't like the color of one room (our fault, not theirs). I called Richard and he said no problem, if you pick out another color you like we will come out the next day and paint again for you free of charge!! I was so impressed with this company and I already have another great quote from them to come and paint my Kitchen and baseboards through out my entire house. I would 100% recommend this company!!!

+ -1 moreThey were very accommodating as we had to push the job out several times due to delays in the remodeling of our bathrooms. They arrived on time and were extremely courteous and professional. They did an excellent job and cleaned up before leaving. After they left, we noticed that one of the doors wasn't fully painted and Richard had his team return the next day to finish up the door and touch up a few areas at no cost and without any issues. Overall, I saved $300 compared to the other quotes I received and the quality of work was excellent.
Description of Work: A-Best painted two of our bathrooms. Each bathroom is a full bathroom - one a master and the other a kid's/guest bathroom. They painted all of the walls, ceilings and the doors using several different paint colors. They also had to do some repairs to the walls.

The two painters that came arrived 15 minutes early and were extremely efficient with their time. They were able to paint one wall in the downstairs livingroom, staircase walls, upstairs hallway, master bedroom and started on the master bedroom walk in closet. Overall I would use this company again in the future and recommend them to any friends and family.
