This is a real review and I have been using Hal at Lawn Ranger for about 10 years now and though I better write a review in this review driven world we have now. Used to be word of mouth but now it's this forum. Hal and crew are very professional and courteous. They have great equipment and take good care of it and like my house there tools shine. Hal treats his crew very well and although he may cost a bit more you won't get any better looking lawn unless you did it yourself. I've priced other services and his is right in the middle but the level of work you get makes up for any savings then aggravation you might get from a cheaper quote. My yard looks like a park. Highly recommended and going on 11 years now.

The owner paid an initial visit; critiqued the appearance of the lawn and promised far better results. The crew were OK and responsive to our concerns. As long as we dealt with the crew we had no major problems. However, the boss was less interested in service than in cash flow. If there was a problem, he always had an excuse. The customer was never right. Unfortunately while edging the lawn their machine kicked up a stone and broke a window. This is something which has happened a few times previously, using other lawn services. Therefore we had warned (several times) the workers of the problem and had asked them to be careful. When informed of the damage, the owner said Lawn Ranger would pay for the replacement, and we should take the cost out of the monthly (June) bill. However, he quit as of 18 June, after only two cuttings during the month. Thus, the sum owed Lawn Ranger did not cover the cost of the new window. Now he says they really worked three weeks in June (rather than two) and effectively owed us nothing. This is demonstrably false; he quit on 18 June and by 20 June we had a contract with a new group. They provided yard service for the last two weeks in June. Furthermore, Lawn Ranger now states his crew couldn't have caused the damage. He blames a bird. The Lawn Ranger is argumentative and he is rude. In short he is unprofessional, and he owes us money. Look elsewhere. You will be happier.
Description of Work: Lawn Ranger was hired to provide usual lawn care service: Mowing; weed eating; edging of beds; clean-up debris; trim shrubs and weed control. For the cost, we were promised excellent care.

Received good basic service and occasional calls re: adding lawn pest control & fertilization services which we do ourselves if required. Did some weed spraying but cut some areas where I had planted items. I did not realize he was going to do anything to those areas and requested that he stay with lawn mowing and edging. I returned home from work one evening to find that he'd topped two trees in our front yard without asking. He said that he tries to do what's needed without disturbing the homeowner by phoning.
