They had a diagnosed fee all over their place. When we called them, the yellow pages said that there wouldn?t have been a fee. When I brought the TV in, they told me that there would be a fee because the TV was over 27 inches. I had the female worker write on the estimate that there was not going to be a fee for them looking at my television. I just told them to put together the TV back the way it was and would be picking it up on 05/19/2010.
Description of Work: I brought my 32 inch TV into Sony and it took three weeks to get the estimate. And then every time I called them, I was told that they were having problems getting the new board for the TV. It took about 5 weeks and they finally got the part into today. The part they got was reconditioned and I was told today that it failed. The new part would’ve cost me an extra $100, which a new set would’ve cost. I just told them to put together the TV back the way it was.

This report is not only false but very untrue. We pride ourselves in customer service and have a customer referral of 28%. For starters it took three weeks for an estimate because it was an older unit and we couldn't find parts for it. It was not 5 weeks it was 3 weeks, again not our fault there were no parts available and it took that long to track one down. If we would have ordered a new part none of this would have happened but we were trying to help the member repair the tv for less cost. It is true we have a sign at our entrance stating that there is a diagnostic fee on all tv's. The ad he read in the yellow pages clearly states that the free diagnosis is for flat panel tv's only, which clearly the member was not. We he is forgetting to mention is that even though his tv was a projection tv we waived the fee since he was already there with the tv. He admitted that he missunderstood the ad, it had nothing to do with the size of the tv. He was in a rush to get back to Maine and I think that was the biggest issue. It's hard to believe that after trying to save him money and waiving the diagnostic fee he would have to say this about us. I guess that's where that old saying comes from " sometimes it doesn't pay to be nice." I knew he was going to be a problem when he walked in complaining about the diagnostic fee. You know, he didn't have to leave the tv in the first place if he thought we were so dishonest. Sorry.
