+ -1 moreThe little work that was completed showed poor workmanship and was delivered incomplete. More importantly, the cabinets were the wrong depth such that the sink did not even fit!
Description of Work: I entered into three (3) contracts with David. The contracts were for cabinets, granite and the installation of wood floors. He took my deposits totaling $8,000.00. When he delivered a small portion of the cabinets they were poorly done and the wrong size. He said he did not have the money to buy the granite or doors, in spite the $8,000 deposit! I dealt with the police which told David to return my money. That did not work. Currently, the case is with the Licensing and Permitting Department of Broward. From the $8,000 I have been able to collect $4,500. David still owes me $3,500. I hired an attorney who has sent David a deman letter. If I am unable to collect my monies by early April 2013, a civil lawsuit will be filed, and I am pressing criminal charges for his failure to have a licensed needed to practice in my jurisdiction. With the civil judgement, Broward County will place liens on David. It has been a nightmare. This man's name is David Lopez. He is from Honduras. He drives a white pick-up with red letters advertising "David Carpentry". He is in his 50s. I provide this information because there are many David Lopez's out there. Although the business address above would otherwise link you to the David I dealt with, my attorney informed me that he has since been evicted. God only knows what his location is now. CAUTION!

+ 3 moreMr. Lopez came by 2-12-08, as schedule fax over estimate of $2,000 on 2-13-08, Work begin on 2-18-08, the worker came as schedule begin removing of floor and installing shower wall and pan. First worker worked for 3 days. Two other workers for came after the third day and the job started a downward spiral. The workers were messy and failed to clean up at the end of day. Mr Lopez failed to come by to inspect work progress,provide supervision. The failure of Mr. Lopez to supervise the job resulted in inferior tile work on wall and had to be removed and redone by a another worker. One week job took three and half weeks to complete and many wall tiles were wasted, which we supplied. Many of the workers for David Carpentry were unprofessional and often brought children and family members with them to the job. My wife had to make 8 trips to the tile store for additional tiles due to failure of Mr. Lopez to supervise the job.
Description of Work: Provide labor removing bath tile floor and tiling floor and wall. Replace shower pan and tiling floor and wall. Remove toilet and bidet and reinstall. Install ceiling light and exhaust fan.

+ 6 moreMr. Lopez is very professional and tries hard to please the customer. His workers are prompt and efficient. They take good care of the premises and cleaned as they went. All debris was removed right away. All corrections were minor and were fixed without complaint. Mr. Lopez returns all calls promptly and reviews the work done on a regular basis.
Description of Work: David Lopez came personally to give estimate for remodeling of kitchen and bath. He is very friendly and well mannered. We decided to proceed with two bathroom remodels. The first is nearly complete. We replaced all tile - floor, wall and ceiling, replaced shower pan and tiled, replaced fixtures, replaced vanity, and painted. He also replaced the bathroom door. The vanity was made by David's shop and is wood with full extension drawers and granite countertop.

Description of Work: THEY REMOVED THE OLD DECK AND PUT A NEW ONE IN MY BACKYARD.
