Contacted Armando following the positive reviews on Angies List. I had 3 quotes and by far and away, he was the most professional and gave us great service. We needed accordion shutters for our french doors and storm panels for 2 windows and a fast installation as we have an inspection with the insurance company. Armando called us 3 days later to say they were ready for installation - super impressed and a lot quicker than everyone else. He wasn't the cheapest of the 3 quotes but he was definitely the best and we wouldn't hesitate in using him again. Highly recommend him.

This was a very positive experience for me. Armando Is someone who cares about customer service and responsiveness. Because there was some confusion about the scheduled inspection date, he came out personally and refused to charge for the call. He also gave me the name of a company that could repair the bedroom window.

His integrity, knowledge of his product, and absolute professionalism were apparent from the minute he walked through the door to provide a quote through final completion of the project. We recently had an inspection for insurance purposes. The inspector that came out imposed several things wrong with the house built in early 1980's. One of these were the metal shutters we had, said they were not Dade County inspected and did not have the required "seal". To our amazement, Mr. Colon asked to see the metal shutters in question, there in the corner was the Miami Dade County approved code and the thickness of the metal. Mr. Colon is a true HONEST PROFESSIONAL and my mom was so happy. He told her that she did not need to purchase new shutters. Just when we thought there really wasn't any honest people around, comes MR. COLON sure changed our minds. We would HIGHLY recommend him for any job. He was also very prompt and a man of his word. SOMETHING VERY HARD TO FIND THESE DAYS. We thank him so much for the savings he has allowed us to have.

I recently used AC Shutters and Awnings Inc. to install shutters in a windows opening on the side of our garage. They were the best quote we received and not to mention the service was exceptional. We received service from Armando Colon and he was very punctual and professional. I would highly recommend him. He really did go above and beyond. Will definitely use them again.

They were very informative on the phone and set a time to come the next day. The only issue is that they do not do hurricane glass, only shutters. I will be installing shutters on some windows too in the future and will look at calling them back to give me a quote.

Price was comparable to other estimates, however, his personality and professionalism won me over. Happy that it did, because I later found evidence of how honest and trustworthy he is. Also happy to find that the quality of the materials used for the shutters were far superior to that of other quotes of similar price. There were no surprises, other than Armondo exceeding my expectations.

The owner is very nice and helpful and very knowledgeable. He saved me money by using my existing shutters, and was willing to do part of the house at a time. We had a problem with the size of one hurricane window and it had to be reordered, which added another 3 weeks to the job. He even took my old shutters and got $ for them, which he returned to me. I highly recommend AC Shutters!

From start to finish, the job went fairly smooth. A few glitches, but nothing that Armando couldn't handle. His professionalism and curteous attitude was a pleasure to deal with. I have dealt with many contractors in Miami, and Armando was definitely one of the best.

Armando, the owner, initially came out to give me an estimate, which was very fair and definitely reasonable. He was not pushy and very honest. He showed me the product he was going to install and took the time to explain the differences between that and the other products on the market. I contacted him over a month after he first he came out once I decided to go with his company. He came back over, honored his estimate and took exact measurements. He promised the work would be completed within 5-6 weeks of signing the contract. He kept his word. He immediately applied for the permit and upon receiving approval from the Building department, scheduled me for installation. His crew showed up on the scheduled day as promised. They were punctual, professional, courteous and neat. They were meticulous and removed the screws from my walls for my previous panels, filled the holes and touched up the paint at no extra charge. They were extremely efficient and worked hard throughout the day. Armando made sure to show me exactly how the shutters worked and took his time answering any of my questions. He even showed up and did the walk-through with the Building Inspector after the job was completed. I am extremely happy with the work AC Shutters did and with the level of customer service I received from Armando. It is refreshing to find a company who stands by their work and their word. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone interested in getting hurricane shutters.

The removal and installation went very well. The workers were pleasant and hardworking. They arrived on time and began to work immediately. One installer removed the awnings while the other installed the new accordion shutters. They did this without stopping until all of the shutters were installed. Afterwards, they filled the holes from the old awnings at no charge to me. The accordion shutters were perfectly installed. The installer was experienced and answered all of my questions.

Armando was professional, friendly and prompt. He supplied a written contract quickly. Once the HOA and City approved the work, the process was very smooth and quick. The workers were friendly, neat and informative. They installed the shutters in less than a day. They kept me informed as they worked and would ask for my input if there were any decisions during the process. They left the place neat and took all debris. I highly recommend.

Horrible waste of time. In South Florida, with ever-increasing homeowner's insurance cost, customers are jumping through hoops in an effort to qualify for mitigation discounts. Non-professional, non- responsive contractors add to this stress.

Never provided the estimate he promised and did not return phone calls.

We need to install accordian shutters on 17 openings that include three big sliding doors. My fridend installed shutters for her house before me. They have got quotes from several different companies and reviewd different types of shutters. So I decide to follow them. So I ask the company they picked to give me a quote too. I also contact A C shutters & Awning since they are the number one in Angie's list in my area. They both brought a sample. To me, the quality are same although the name is slightsly different. They both are professional and nice. I checked their grades on both BBB & Angie's list. They are both excellent on the BBB. A C shutters & Awnings stands out in Angie's list and their price is little better than the other company, so I decided to use them.The whole installation process is very good. Armando, the owner is very nice and easy to communicate with. They finished the job on time and patched and painted all the holes. They are professional. I lived in Weston. I have to say the inspector from Weston is not that good in my opinion. They even did not open & close all the windows and they signed and passed it. I have to try to close all the shutters after I came back from work since I want to make sure they can be closed. To my surprise, I can not close every one of the two. So I called Armando and he dropped by the next morning and showed us several tricks in doing that. After we get familiar on how to do it. We tried every shutters to make sure they are good. Armando is very patient in helping us in the whole process. I would definitely recommend him and AC shuttes & Awnings to my friends.

Very professional service. During estimate, showed me the difference between the shutters he installs vs. other competitors and the difference in quality. Price was reasonably close to competitors. Prior to install, he navigated the crazy hurdles with my association and city to get the permit. Was very patient through the process (more so than I am), and never expressed frustration with the ridiculous process (had to go twice to the city - and fill in more paperwork they requested at the last minute). The install was a smooth process and the shutters look great. I had the old style shutters before that had screws in the wall - he took those down and painted. There's work to be done afterwards with the deck to make it abutt the shutters properly and he's volunteered to come out and speak with my deck guy in case he has any questions. Would highly recommend these guys.

When I bought my house I had hurricane shutters installed on all openings except 4 windows on the south side that already had the old metal awning type shutters. They worked perfect and bolted down when closed. After 6 years Citizens inspected and told me I would lose all my wind discounts because the old awnings didn't have a wind rating. They increased my wind insurance $3,000. I checked Angie's list and called AC AWNINGS & SHUTTERS. Armando made an appointment for the next week to give me an estimate. The next day, a Saturday, he called to let me know that he had received notice that because of the oil crisis the price of shutters was going up substantially and that I should order shutters ASAP even if I used someone else. He offered to come by that evening and give me a quote if I wanted. I met him that evening and he gave me serveral choices, all of which I thought were more than reasonably priced. I only needed panels as it is on the side of the house that has no view and the A.C. unit. He gave me a price of $650, and offered to install them on the weekend if needed. He called the next Friday to let me know they had arrived and could install them the next morning. His crew came on time. Because they had to remove old shutters, they offered to paint the places where the original house color was now showing, and also offered to fill in the old bolt holes with stucco. I had neither the paint or stucco, but I greatly appreciated the offer. They also disposed of the large old awnings for me. Overall, I thought the experience was professional, competent, and went beyond what I would have expected.

WORK DONE 03/11/2011 KNEW PROBLEM AS SOON AS HE SAW SHUTTER FIXED MADE SURE IT WAS WORKING NO CHARGE

They charged me $6000. They installed hurricane plantation shutters on five windows. The owner was very helpful. He was committed to quality work. He was good to deal with. I will definitely use them again in the future.

I called and spoke to Armando, I told him what I needed and he was very responsive, even though I only wanted one shutter. Other companies wanted double the price and seemed put out because I only needed one accordian shutter. Armando was very sweet, professional and is in my opinion what every business man or woman should be. His idea is to make the customer happy, give them good service, good prices and more will come back to him. He is right, anytime that anyone needs shutters, I will definitely be recommending his company. His team was also very professional, although, they only spoke Spanish, we were still able to communicate. Armando came out the same day I called and the work was done before the end of the week. Thank you Armando, you are one of a kind and more businesses should follow your model of doing business.

I contacted Armando from the recommendation I saw on Angies List and he returned my call immediately and scheduled to come out to my home, we discussed the options and provided me with an complete estimate including the break down of the work and permits. I told Armando that the HOA needed some insurance and forms filled out and in a couple of days he hand delivered them to me. The job was started on time and was completed on time in a very professional manor. After the job was done he help me get an updated wind mitigation report in order so that I could submit it to my insurance company. I would have no problem using them again or recommending them to anyone.
