We purchased tile from this company. Once they had our payment, we arranged for Thursday delivery. The driver showed up and could not get his forklift to our garage. Granted, we have a dumpster and a storage unit blocking the main driveway, but we have not had any issues with any previously deliveries (drywall, framing materials, other tile delivery, etc.). All other drivers were able to come up the circular part of the driveway. This company however, brought a giant forklift that would not fit between the space between the storage unit and a small palm tree (roughly 9 feet). The driver did not speak English, though he did his best to help out in a professional manner. He spoke with some of the other workers who were finishing drywall to get them to move their car. When he couldn't fit through the space, I called the company. The man I initially spoke with told me he had to leave the tile in the street. When I suggested that I would then refuse delivery and request a full refund, he told me there would be no refunds. He essentially told me that they were going to keep my money and the tile. This angered my greatly and I lost my temper and used some very inappropriate language. I have never had a company flatly tell me they were going to steal from me before (and they already had payment, so they had the upper hand). I eventually got the VP of the company on the phone. He was less helpful than the first person. He told me that if I refused delivery and requested a refund, he would charge us a 15% restocking fee and would still charge us for delivery. This would cost us almost $2,000 for no tile. I then instructed him to leave the tile in the driveway and told him I have to go back to work and hung up on him. I was angry at the way the men on the phone treated me. I was angry that they refused to put our tile in the garage. I was angry that I needed to take 2 hours off of work to deal with them. I tried to explain to the driver that I wanted him to leave the tile there, but he did not understand. I then left to go back to work. The tile was not left there. The VP refused to deliver the tile without my signature (though he never requested it or called back to tell me he would not follow my instructions). They took the tile back to the warehouse and are charged us a second delivery fee. $400 for delivery is pretty unreasonable delivery fee to begin with.

Tropical has a small showroom compared to many other leading tile companies in the area. Their selection, however, is very good. We were able to find a nice wood like porcelain tile that was far superior in appearance than any other we had seen. We dealt directly with Marcos Suarez. He is a polite,honest and straightforward young man. He was attentive to our concerns throughout the process and helped resolve several problems we encountered with delivery of the tile and quantities. As with all things, you should do your homework before shopping for tile. There were several other small tile orders I placed with Tropical that I could have obtained elsewhere for cheaper. High volume orders seem to get a better price break. They do not have the best prices but they do provide a better shopping experience that big box stores. I recommend them without hesitation.

My tile was not cheap but you get what you pay for. It's lovely and I walk on it everyday, this is not a car you change every 5 to 10 years. The tile had gone up significantly and Marco honored last year's price he had quoted me. This company has been aaround for a looong time and their customer service is superior. I wanted a reputable company to stand behind their product and not just a company that was here yesterday and non existant tomorrow. Without a doubt and after doing a lot of legwork, I highly recommend Tropical Tile and Marble.

Their price was reasonable. Their tiles were very attractive, very good price and they also work with someone who's a tile installer and he was excellent, we used him a couple of times. He was very good. The guy we worked with the tropical tile is Marco Suarez and he's very easy to deal with and very professional. Their costumer service was excellent.

Original sale and installation was flawless. After about a year, a latent defect in the product appeared (defective manufacture not at all the direct fault of Tropical). They have bent over backwards to fix it to our satisfaction. A professional operation that truly cares about a satisfied customer. If all vendors worked as hard as Marco Suarez, there would be no need for Angie's List

THEY HAD TO LAY DOWN TILE WITH A SPECIFIC DESIGN ON IT. THEY HAD DISAGREED ON WHAT I WANTED TO LIE ON THE BATHROOM FLOOR. THEY DID EVERYTHING WRONG BY NOT LAYING THE CAULK DOWN TO HOLD IT IN PLACE. THEY DIDN'T FINISH THE JOB. THE FLOOR IS NOW RUINED.
