+ -1 moreBought Sod for my yard. They were always late or never showed up at all. Terrible lack of communication and just plain uncaring. I had people waiting that I paid to help me sod and they would not show or call. They are terrible and so very unprofessional! Very red neck behavior! Would never recommend them to anyone ever!

+ -1 moreThey're very incompetent, unreliable, unorganized and unprofessional. Sprayed my yard with round up. Killed the existing sod and made my yard look worse than before.. Then was unable to give me a date on when they would be able to install the new sod. They gave me every excuse in the book.i had to go with a reliable and competent sod company. If you like to waste your time I recommend southern sod.

+ -1 moreI was concerned on how it was going to turn out,but these guys know what they are doing it came out nice, now I need to wait it out and see if it stays nice. So I can say it was a good experience dealing with Southern Sod.
Description of Work: Remove and install 1400 sq ft of sod, the entire area was elevated with 10yds of dirt to cover the large roots from the 3 trees in the front.

Description of Work: The owner was very nice and professional. One of their people Dennis, I believe, was short answered and came across as not much of a people person. They had to postpone installation day due to bad weather days before. While installing some workers did better than other. Once complete I was concerned that there were a lot of small gaps and the area seemed lumpy. I got Bahia grass and although I was warned it is normal to have some weeds I thought some pieces should not have been used. I complained about all of this with Doug and was told all of this was normal. The grass looked pretty good for a while and I was pulling the weeds I could. The area stayed lumpy and weeds grew in all the gaps as I suspected. I was told I couldn't put anything down for weeds for a while and that when I could I should use a professional as Bahia is technically a weed and might die if not done by a professional. Overall not that impressed with them and would try another company first.

+ -1 moreOverall it was an "A" experience. I e-mailed Southern Sod via Angie's List telling them what I was looking for and they replied immediately. After a couple of informational e-mails we had an appointment set for the estimate. They came out on-time, looked around, measured, we talked about what type of sod we are considering and a few other things. They explained the process from the next step to finish and gave me the estimate. They have contacted me a couple of times since as follow-up, but my husband and I just made the decision to hold off on this project, so I will let them know this tomorrow.
Description of Work: An estimate was given for sodding the front and side yard. Very thorough, punctual and explained the process very well. We have not decided if we are going to move forward yet because of other tasks to be completed.

Description of Work: Called on Monday and they came on Tuesday to do estimate. Great price. Sprayed to kill our lawn the same day and installed the sod on Friday. Sod looks good, excellent after care instructions and after sod installed about two hours later the person who had completed the estimate stopped by the make sure everything went well. They cleaned everything on the lawn and the street really well and made sure no impact on our neighbors. Highly recommend and would use again.

+ 0 moreWe were told by our HOA that we needed to resod. Unfortunately for us, we needed to resod the entire yard. Southern Sod was 15 mins away so we asked for a quote. The gentleman (sorry, I forgot his name) came out to give us an estimate for Bahia sod. He provided two estimates one with labor and the other for just the sod. We were told that 16 pallets would be enough to cover the yard. He even provided us with instructions on how to prepare the yard if we decided to sod ourselves. Taking the cheaper option of sodding ourselves, we ordered eight pallets. They were promptly delivered and we installed them the same day. A month later, we ordered another three pallets which, again, were promptly delivered. We still need another three pallets but that will have to wait until spring. The grass has been great. It established quickly and remained green until the fall months. Some of it has browned with the winter (I'm sure our sandy soil doesn't help). Bahia is a hearty grass so I'm sure that it will bounce back.
Description of Work: We asked for a quote for Bahia sod. We received two quotes. Once with installation and the other for just the sod. The representative provided us with instructions on how to do it ourselves. The sod was delivered promptly.
