Other reviews on here are definitely biased. Go look at any other review website to see real reviews. Have had this internet service for a year (because there are no other options) and they are terrible. Very slow internet with awful range. They cap your data and charge for overages (it's 2020?!?). I moved and had to cancel - guess what? No where to stop service online, you have to call and wait on the phone for 20 minutes to talk to someone and ask for a cancellation. They charge you for another 7 days after you cancel (because it takes that long to press a button?!??). And then if they've already charged you for a month, they have to get your new address so they can send you a check by mail. They can't for some reason deposit it into the banking account that you already have connected??? Also she didn't even ask for my new address, I had to ask her about how to get the refund, and then when told by mail, I had to request that she send it to my new address! This company is extremely penny pinching it's ridiculous. Avoid them if you can.

First of all I can't remember if the cost was really $20 (it was something like that), but I transferred my service from Direct TV to Mediacom. I had had mediacom internet for some time, but I decided to take them up on their offer for $79/month triple services -- tv, internet and phone. They were good about the installation, but they said they were not going to put a box in the bedroom. I told the installer that they told me they would, and the installer just did it. I also did not want the phone service. I had had it before and it was bad. Right now I have magic jack and I am happy with it. I also had my own motarola modem and I didn't want the one they proposed leaving me. They left it anyway and said just store it. At any rate I called and had them continue provisioning my motorola modem, and to not provision theirs. They seemed happy and cooperative to do it. After a month I saw that the charge was not $79 plus taxes -- it was about $7 more. This was because they hadn't told me that there was an extra charge for local channels. This was really the only bad thing in my current experience with them. I am very leary of dealing with any of these providers because I have be stung before. For instance when I left mediacom the first time, I returned their tv equipment, but about 1 year later they claimed I had not. They were going to change me $100 for the lost equipment, but somehow they found it. At that point I decided I might return to mediacom at some point, and as you can see I actually did. I am happy with their billing so far, but see my comment in the next paragraph I sense that Mediacom is generally honest, but you must keep on top of them at every step. If you do that you will be much happier with their services.

They are local and they have quick service, usually within the day. When you call them, they do a remote check on everything and get you all set up. The price is good for the package that I get. They have an introductory price for 2 years at a reduced rate and then they kick it up to the normal rate and that's very good. Quality is good and it is all affected by sunspots. I've had really good service from them. I can call them on weekends.

Took 2 trips because the cable running into the house was dead and had to be replaced. Installer was extremely professional, as were the customer service reps I talked to. Being without Internet access for 2+ weeks was not fun, but since the final installation everything has run smoothly.

We are currently using their services. The internet is pretty good. Once in a while you might have to reboot. The TV is cable. I think they are overpriced. The phone was cutting off my calls. It does not always happen. I was not sure if it was them or my phone or what it was. I had to reconnect. It was cutting my calls off.

They are terrible I have a bundle package. The cable and internet service keeps going out for hours at a time. I call the customer service department all the time. They kind of pass the buck so to say. They offer to send a tech but that is not the problem it has something to do with their connections. It goes out several times a month for hours at a time. The company claims that someone has been cutting their lines which is causing the outages. I live alone and they came out one day without calling me and I would not let the tech in. This is the only cable company in town so I will continue to use them in the future.

I can say that they’re just the normal provider in our area. Their repair service is within 24 hours on everything and if there will be problems. We are upgrading to TVO so they gave me everything that I needed and they have been real good. They make sure that I have a clean cable and the signal with no charge. I can also call anytime at long distance.

To start, we made the order on August 7th but they were too overbooked to schedule an appointment. The next available was not until August 14. Although we needed the internet service much sooner, we chalked the scheduling issue up to our mistake for not ordering sooner. On August 14th the window of install was 12-5pm. At 4:30 the installer called to inform me he had just begun an appointment and was 2 additional appointments away and would call us by 6pm to give a status update. He never called back. When I called the next day to follow up, I was informed he requested a reschedule that would not happen until August 22nd. That is 15 days AFTER we ordered the service! When I explained to the customer service rep this issue, her exact words were " This is not my problem. That is your next appointment time." I was STUNNED!!! I requested to be connected to the manager immediately and was placed on eternal hold. When I hung up and called back, I was able to be transferred to a manager, who in turn contacted the installation manager and a new technician was sent out on the 15th. We thought all the issues were resolved. Wrong. Since installation, the programs will freeze up or the screen will go blank or skip parts of programs that were recorded. We again called for service, in which they reset the box and said it was fixed. Again..Wrong. Today we called and a technician is scheduled to come out on 8/31/12. When I asked to be transferred to Customer Service, I explained to the representative all of our issues and her response was "M'am I don't understand why you are telling me all this. What is the problem? What do you want me to do about it?" WOW!!! Worst customer service in the history of business!

We called mediacom for service and we were told that Mediacom does not service Gulf Breeze after being on the phone for nearly an hour even though on neighbor right beside us has it. So we call back a little while later and the next rep says they do and sets up service. We have to wait 4 days for installation and when they get to my home they say they can't do it because of something that needs connected to a box down the street. I don't understand why this wouldn't be expected since only every few houses has one in front of their home. We called them back and they said it would be 2 weeks before they can come back. We will find someone else for internet and cable.

The internet service was slow and spotty to say the least. We contacted them five separate times and each time they would come out and tell us they could not find a problem. We literally had dozens upon dozens of guest complaints. Finally we contacted another internet provider (Earthlink) who installed their service in our hotel. The difference was like night and day! Guests complaints stopped and service was GREAT! and told her 10 days after switching over from Mediacom, 2 repairmen appeared at our hotel. They told me personally that they were there to do work on our cable TV lines and had nothing to do with the internet. They returned Monday to work on our system, once again telling me specifically they were doing nothing with our internet connection. After working on our system for 2 hours , they trotted into my bosses' office to let her know that they had switched our internet service back to them. And that 'their bosses were meeting with our bosses today to straighten all this out". Interesting, considering that are bosses were in St. Petersburg today. So basically, I had FOUR separate people from Mediacom lie directly to my face. I asked each of them if they were doing anything with our internet connection and EACH ONE said no. Their service was crappy, they wouldn't or couldn't fix it and then when we switched they lied to change it back.

This service goes down frequently. I wish the price was lower. The quality is good. This is the only provider, there is in town. They did not have enough high-definition channels, so I dropped them for that.

They screwed up on my bill twice and had lousy TV. I called them both times and both times they laughed and said they make the mistake of over charging all the time. I got rid of them real quick. If someone comes to the door from Mediacomm I tell them to go away. They send me stuff in the mail and it goes right in the trash. When I signed on they were canvassing the neighborhood. A guy came to the door offering me a deal for less than $100 then I kept getting bills well over $100. The picture was dark, you couldn't see anything on the TV.

I originally submitted a report on this company indicating an "A" rating. That perception has changed. Our service was installed early in the springtime this year. During the storm season (spring and early summer), we experienced a number of interruptions in service. The TV went out. The Internet lost connection. The telephone would cut off in mid conversation, (sometimes two or three time during one short conversation). These problems were corrected by remote technology or service calls to our residence. At first we chalked up the series of problems to weather conditions. During the Summer, we had more interruptions and about four or five service calls to check out the problem. There seemed to be genuine effort to correct a problem with the specific hook-up at our residence. This fall, with the return of the storm season, there were more service outages. With the storms now passed, we hoped for better service, but--no, that is not to be. The interruptions continue. Recently we have attempted to get a service technician to come to our house. We waited at our house on the appointed day, but the service man did not show. Now, there appears to be a communication problem in the service department. The representative in the service department claims that the service man was at our residence, but could not find anyone at home. Although we assured the customer service representative and the supervisor that we were at home, they insist that the man was at our house and had left a notice on our door. We never saw the man nor the notice. (He apparently went to another house.) At this point we are very frustrated and are seriously considering another service provider. I believe we have been more than fair and considerate of the company and its representatives. This company is providing poor service. I feel that I have been generous with my perception of "fair" overall rating. For the price paid, I believe we are justified in expecting better service.
